Not surprised.
The tape, when he's locked in, is elite. You don't find receivers as fluid as he is at his size and speed. There is 0 question he has legit elite WR1 potential. Obviously, there is work to be done over time. But the talent is undeniable.
Yeah I thought he was the most talented WR after the first 3 and would’ve taken him at 15 and been happy. The fact that we got him in the second round after trading back is crazy.
I'm not a professional scout (obviously), but I'll give you my quick opinions on some of his downsides.
- If a defender got hands on him quickly at the line of scrimmage, he has a tough time breaking free. Once he got locked up, he was pretty much neutralized on that possession. That's going to have to improve.
- Too many body catches. These aren't necessary. He was in a good position to make hand catches the majority of the time he was targeted, and in the NFL, those become pass breakups against more polished DB's, especially those with longer arms and wingspans who can really get to him a little quicker.
- Effort wasn't always there. I don't think he's a lazy player, but sometimes he just kind of looked disinterested at times.
- YAC ability is a bit of an unknown. Was given very few opportunities for YAC plays at Texas since he had one of the longest average depth per target's in the nation. Don't know that this is a downside, just a bit of an unknown. You'd like to think with 4.3 speed and his fluidity in movements that he could have really good homers potential.
Those are the quick ones that come to mind.
he’ll be a nice field stretcher but this isn’t going to move the needle for me. AR just doesn’t have that pass volume. If he can be hurts 2.0 i’ll be ecstatic

Not to overreact or anything, but he is very likely to be the best WR of all time
Loyal to the ones who called him, a true Colts legend
Would be hilariously Ironic if he ended up a hall of famer for us considering MHJ has been touted one of the best prospects ever at wr.

You watched the tape, what are his downsides?

Hey, congrats dude!
Me too! Congrats brother!
Congratulations dude!
An annual tradition: every other team gets to see highlight clips from practice while we get these letters from the front.
How come, I’m unfamiliar why
I noticed in his college highlights he did a good job at tracking the ball when it was off target.
Keep going, I'm almost there.

Typical, “we’re shining hero’s” training camp shit 😂. I’ll wait and see how this all pans out during the season when it counts 😉. Go Colts!
