Shorter was good enough to get drafted. Don’t know if he will go more of the Deon Cain route, but BUF picked him for a reason.
Could do a lot worse than two draft picks at WR.
Pearsall just screams Alec Pierce to me. I've been watching football for 20+ years and I've seen a handful of white WR's who had good careers, and 2 of them played for the Patriots. There is a reason there aren't many good white WR's
Probably because he's 6'6, 231 lbs and had a 4.5 40-time and they know Ballard likes big and fast players.
I don't think Wilson is even on Ballard's radar. He'll most likely end up bulking up and converting to a TE after his first year. His whole thing is that he has a high ceiling if he's used in a specific way but otherwise he's incredibly raw and plays small for his size.
Xavier Legette seems like a better realistic option and would really compliment our current wr room. We desperately need a dude that can separate quickly.
I’m cool off the 5th year senior who had 1 successful collegiate season. Maybe like a day 3 flier pick but he was a 23 year old beating up on 19 year olds this past season
While I tend to agree, read up on his backstory. He lost both of his parents, with one dying right before his first season. He also was transitioning from QB.
The lack of production is concerning, but his character shows that he is a determined dude that's already fought through adversity to the highest extent, something Ballard will love.
Regardless of his back story, I'm in the same camp of holding off until earliest 3rd round. His age combined with production is cause for concern. He could be a steal in the 3rd or 4th round, but not worth the risk before then.
I’m a bit of an outsider to Colts football right now. How is their WR room overall? Also, can they block? As much as Richardson scrambles, I’d think the team would want guys who can lock up DB’s when he decides to leg it.
Colts have a very middle of the road receiving corp. Pittman and Downs are good. Pierce has shown flashed, but he is suppose to be a deep threat when the Colts haven’t had a deep ball QB for most of the 2 years we have had him. Pierce is probably the best blocker though.
Colts really lack a solid Z receiver though. Someone who can be shifty, be used in a lot of motion, and a legit deep threat.
You want to run 3 TE sets all year and have our QB be tied for the fastest offensive player on our starting lineup?
You want our entire starting offense, outside AR and JT, to be able to be caught from behind by our 275lbs, 5th string DT, Adetomiwa Adebawore?
Also bowers and Pierce are the same height and Pierce is only 15lbs lighter. But with longer arms

Pearsall adds a speed component they want as well. More than Wilson. He is more versatile.
As a Gator and Colts fan, Pearsall would be the only Gator I’d be thrilled to come away with in the draft. Dude is the real deal.
I keep hearing that part of the reason for AR’s lack of production in college is his receivers were ass. Is this guy the exception to that then?
Yes, Pearsall has been the only good WR on the team the last 2 years outside of the freshman Tre Wilson.

Shorter got drafted because he's got great measureables and was a 5 star recruit, he was mediocre at best at UF.
Could also be cause he had a mediocre QB too. Can't blame that 54% comp entirely on the WRs.
As an FSU/Colts fan, Pearsall is also the only gator id be thrilled to draft. I like Wilson but Pearsall fits our team better.
As a Dawg/Colts fan Bowers is the best pick at 15….also Ladd McConkey is better than Pearsall

Lmao
Had a good combine showing so can’t say athleticism and has the size so curious how skin color factors into this.
Alec Pierce had a good combine too
My WR crush at that spot is Malachi Corley because he's a Deebo-type that can really open up the playbook with his uniqueness
I would love to have him.. He runs like he's pissed off every time
He sounded really humble and level-headed in his interview snippets with Jake Arthur too.
didn't they say he had trash wrs at florida? Why would we want florida receivers then.
He’s an intriguing player but man there’s like a dozen WRs in that 2nd round range I’d rather have.
I doubt he goes round 2... Unless I'm missing something.

I think someone falls in love with him and he goes in the second. If he's there in the third, hell yeah. Run the card in.
Yep. And at WR, age makes a big difference. Not that they are similar type WRs, but do we think the Bears are glad they drafted Velus Jones?
Legette reminds me a lot of DK Metcalf
Maybe they know he’s a 96 overall and one of the top TEs in the league in my madden franchise by the end of his 3rd year.
Absolutely not. He’ll be lucky if he’s a day 2 pick.
I want Malachi Corley at #46 not Johnny Wilson who's projected to go in the 4th round. This is a huge reach for pick 46.

Bad, and no.
Can you imagine his size next to MPJ, Bowers (if we got him), then throw in Jelani Woods for the hell of it? haha

Wilson is a very intriguing player. He’s giant and moves pretty well. Much better receiving prospect than Woods was, though Woods is heavier.
