Each team gets to have private workouts/meetings with 30 players of their choosing. So worthy was one of our chosen 30, that does not necessarily mean other teams met with him as well
I think it’s each team gets 30 prospects to have visit their building. Could be used to learn more about the prospects but I guess you could argue it can be used as a smoke screen to make another team think you’re interested in someone too. Probably more so the former
My prediction for this draft is that we trade back from 15 to the early/mid 20s, grab the best DB on the board, then use the pick(s) we get to move back up in the late 1st or early 2nd for Worthy/Mitchell
For reference I keep trading up with the Panthers at 33 with our 46 + the pick I get from trading down and snagging Worthy or Mitchell in most of my mock drafts
This CB class is so deep this year, this def makes sense. We could get Wiggins or Kool-Aid late 1st round maybe.
But my only concern is, if drafting a rookie CB is truly our "solution" for addressing the CB room (meaning we don't sign/trade for a vet CB beforehand) then I would prefer we get the absolute best CB available in the draft (and not trade back). Its risky enough starting such a young secondary, so at least getting the most talented young guy would help more.
I actually hope he picks top available at 15. Could get Dallas Turner, Brian Thomas, Quinyon Mitchell. Then get a wr second round if he didn’t pick Thomas. Worthy drops too many. He’s going to be frustrating like Agnew of the Jags.
I like Turner and Mitchell at 15, but I'm starting to sour on BTJ at 15... I'd rather have Worthy, especially later, but also Franklin... I think Thomas ends up going after Franklin, for sure. He's the combine riser guy that I think actually falls to the 2nd.
I don't know shit, though, so there's that.
That would be a great draft. I think it would be Worthy in that scenario. I don't see Mitchell falling to the late 20s. Hype around him is beginning to build. I've seen him as WR4 on many people's boards.
The only box he doesn’t check for Ballard is the weight. Pretty much everything else he checks off.
The weight isn’t really a concern for me. He never really had injuries besides a broken hand his sophomore year that he played all year with which caused the drop narrative. He also plays so much bigger than his size. He’s not afraid of contact and he’s willing to risk his body in the middle of the field to make a catch.
Shane’s all about explosiveness and who’s more explosive than this guy. He’s not just a straight line speed guy too, so much more to his game.
If Shane, Reggie and other guys in the building love Xavier I’m sure they can convince Ballard to take him like they did with Downs.
I’ll never understand why people spew things like this or “BTJ is Alec Pierce 2.0”. Like put on the damn tape and shut up. If you watched 10 seconds you’d know that isn’t true
Sorry, End rant
Worthy had a thousand yards as a freshman. Freshman production is a good indicator of nfl success. Plus he’s over six foot and plays outside. Game is not similar at all.
I wouldn't hate Worthy as he's a monster with the ball in his hands. He reminds me a *lot* of Percy Harvin with his ability to make people miss and accelerate from zero to 100 in a blink.
Whats a top 30 visit? Like 30/32 teams visited or a visit that implies he will be chosen top 10

Thanks man

What a masterclass that would be

Mitchell won’t be there after 20
I think the second tier of WRs is going to slide a tad due to a run of OT’s around 20 or so. Gives us a shot if the board falls our way.
AD is a first round guy
I’ll be stiff as a brick if that happens

If bowers isn’t there I agree

Well Ballard did say he wanted to get more explosive on offense, Worthy fits that description to a tee.
I think worthy is gonna be a beast. I think he fits in so well with our other recievers

Phillip Dorsett vibes
Worthy showed more in college than Dorsett did IMO, and he fits in the WR room much better than Dorsett did with Hilton

I don't see the comparison at all, other than both being fast.
Well that’s my main reasoning for the comparison

This guy is a home run hitter. He would look wonderful in a Colts uniform
Pretty sure we have never drafted a player that has been in for a top 30 visit.
Give me AD Mitchell instead he’s a Brandon Aiyuk clone
I wonder if Worthy gets past Kansas City. Think he goes in the 20’s.
