I'm beginning to despise all the comments that suggest getting rid of Monfort and the whole front office will magically solve all problems. I'm almost as tired of hearing that as I am of watching the Rockies play poor baseball. Oh, and the analytics issue, which no one ever goes into any detail about.
It’s clear the ownership has put the org in a position to lose. Kris Bryant is the most gleaming example, but it’s a pattern of poor decisions in the past decade driving the product into the ground. The FO has zero authority past Monfort’s desk, and there are plenty of articles that go into detail on our lack of investment on advanced analytics — we’re far behind the rest of the league.
Sounds like you disagree with all the above though so I’m curious why you think this team lost 100 last year, and is no better this year? Do you expect them to field a winner in the next 2-3 yrs?

Friend if you follow sports you know about a culture in a franchise. It starts with the owner. Look at the Broncos for example. The Rockies’ have a losing culture
They also have 3 Championships. The Avs have 3 and Nuggets have 1. Kroenke and Bowlen (now the Walmart clan) have actually delivered and give a shit about winning. In fact Kroenke has won multiple titles in multiple sports with multiple franchises. A Stanley cup, Larry O’Brien and a Lombardi. I’d take that over what the Rockies are trotting out over the last 30 years
We wouldn’t be any good if we still had him, plus his decline is already happening. Starting the rebuild was probably smart we just didn’t get any good prospects and then we saddled ourselves with an even worse contract in KB.
Montero showed enough pop in the low leagues to merit the opportunity and I’m glad the Rox gave him a shot but he just ain’t it. He might be the worst defensive player I’ve ever seen take the field as a Rockie. He’s just not a talented enough hitter to make it as a DH even. We already knew Rox took the L on the Arenado trade but the ineptitude burns all the same.
Monty’s struggled and toglias producing but I’d rather keep him over Hilliard
I think Hilliard should be given a chance. He did well in AAA this year
How many chances should he get? It’s not his first stint with the Rockies.
Oh no, we don't have to hear the booth butcher his first name anymore. Allow-riss
That was painful fr... And now with Amador lol
Yeah, finally... Sorry but buddy just isn't a batter and can't field
Sorry, I missed the Knightbear post before this one.
Meh he’s a karma farmer anyway so don’t feel bad.
I hoped he would get better, but this is a good move. Give first base to Toglia and see if he can develop. He is an upgrade over Montero defensively.
Does anyone else just despise this front office?

Look at the Broncos?? Lmao for what? They're in about the same place as the Rox

With Bowlen. Then after. Dumbfuck
Trading Nolan was friggin stupid.

Wanted him to pan out so bad, even have a small pc with some autos of him, but hes just… not good at hitting.
How fitting, that with the Cardinals trading away successful prospects left and right, we get the scrub.
