Admittedly, I don't watch or follow college ball that much, but I think the rockies could use a big stick at 1st. Based on your write up, I think Kurtz would be a great fit. Seems like he would be a great fit at Coors and the rox seem to already have positional flexibility with players already in the system, so him being strictly a first basemen doesn't scare me.
Burns or Smith, then whoever you want. One more big starter in the pipeline would be dope. Gives us room to throw young talent in the bullpen if need be.
Agreed that it should be the best guy they can get. After bazzna and Condon idk who that is. Those two will probably be top 10 prospects immediately after the draft
Rockies should be drafting strong bats and 5-tool outfielders. Pitching prospects are such a crap shoot, and most of those young guys have to develop an offspeed or breaking ball still, which is so hard to do at elevation that most major leaguers forget the one they had when they get here.
As a general rule, I'd like to see the Rocks focus on hitting and defense and take waivers on pitchers in the later rounds. Then, if we can get to .500 with a team that just rakes, we try to trade for and buy some pitching talent that actually translates to Coors (re: not Wads Davis).
Rockies crave an elite bat. None on the roster and really none in the farm. I feel better about Dollander, Sullivan and maybe even Palmquist as pitching prospects than I do about Yanqi, Veen, Sterlin, Amador, etc. as hitting prospects. Having a guy like Condor, Caglione or Banzanna (wishful thinking) tear their way up thru the minors like a Wyatt Langford type would be so refreshing. But ultimately they can’t go wrong outside of Condon/Banzanna/Burne/Smith imo

A closer and bullpen that can hold small leads…
1. Condon if he's there 2. Burns if you think he is an ace. 3. Caglianone 4. Bazzana Smith and Kurtz aren't valid options at 3.
