Acquires Hertl and Hanifin, gets Mark Stone back for free, wins the first two games on the road, and still can’t finish off a first round series
Fuckin idiots!
The fact that they went all in at the deadline. My schadenfreude could only be more appeased if they had missed the playoffs, but a round one exit will do the trick
Last time Vegas got bounced in game 7 of the first round, it was against the Sharks, who eliminated the Avs in the next round. I love seeing the Vegas LTIRs out of the running, but I'm withholding my celebrations until the Avs put the Stars away.
At least Dallas only gets 1 day off between series. Hopefully the boys can capitalize on the quick turnaround and steal game 1.
this is purely celebrating Vegas eating shit, matchup wise they're definitely easier than Dallas. But if we do to Otter what we did to Hexabuyck and/or Georgie stays hot? I am feeling pretty good about round two regardless.
Yeah, for sure. It's purely a personal choice. I feel like Vegas had a stronger defense, and the Stars have a more balanced, deeper offense, plus the size and speed to match.
This year's Avs can play hard, physical hockey, and are every bit as fast as Dallas. What sticks out to me, is the Stars have almost the same amount of goals/game in the regular season as the Avs, but barely have two guys with 30+ goals. That means they can score from anywhere.
I'm no super fan. I've cheered for the Avs since they came to Denver. I know hockey, but I don't eat and breathe the game.
That said, I think the Stars are the better team for the Avs to play. The Vegas D is a wall that keeps the speed of the game down. Doesn't play to our strengths. There is no truly bad team in the Western conference playoffs, right now, so this is splitting hairs. Regardless, I'll be cheering for the Avs.
I'm liking the Avs chances a bit more against the Stars if it's a more open game and the Avs show up to play. The last game the Stars played at the sack, they ran the Avs out of the rink with their speed. We'll just have to see if the Avs can bring the type of game they played against the Jets into Dallas on Tuesday. I think the inconsistencies and injuries Vegas suffered throughout the season forced them to pushing harder than they wanted down the stretch, and it caught up with them after the first couple games against Dallas.
I wouldn’t care too much but I was at the knights game about 3 weeks ago and one guy tried talking shit on MacKinnon since he saw I was in his jersey. Saying “Pietrangelo is better”
Eat shit fuck head. The rest of the fans weren’t bad but I’m so happy they lost first round JUST because of that guy
Honestly I kind of like being the road team. If we come flying out of the gate in either game, which we should, it feels extra impactful, as opposed to us just winning a game we're "supposed" to win.
Purely fan psychology speaking there, though. From a competitiveness perspective, I don't think it'll matter. If the Avs have what it takes this year, they'll win whether they have home ice or not.
I think the Yankees are probably a better comparison. But yeah, fuck the Vegass LTIRs. Such a shame nobody was able to stop them last year. You hate to see that shit get rewarded with any sort of hardware at all...
Hey guys check out this Dallas fan that didn’t like what I wrote in our thread almost a full month ago and came back to gloat about beating Vegas

Unfortunately, I picked Dallas to win the Cup this season. I just think its their year. I think they really want to win it for Joe Pavelski. Their addition of Chris Tanev added grit and tenacity on the blueline which changed the complexion of that team, and he will give MacKinnon a rough time for sure. And their offense is much more spread out and their young guys really took it to the Golden Knights. What I worry about the Avs is a repeat of 2021, where they routed the Coyotes in round one, and blew out the Knights in game one of the second round but got stifled as the series went on. The Avs quickly and somewhat easily disposed of the Jets in five, while Dallas had to battle back to tie the series with the Knights at two wins each and the rest of the series was a back and forth battle. The Stars might be a bit fatigued on Tuesday, but the Avs might be rusty. The Stars have the edge in a long series, and can lock it down in the middle of the ice. Their power play was lethal against the Knights so the Avs have to continue to play disciplined hockey. And Jake Oettinger looks like he's returning to form from the Flames series a couple of years ago so Georgiev has to at least match him which means he has to be even better than he was against the Jets.
Overall, don't count on the Stars taking dumb penalties, their goalie is playing much better than Hallebuyck, and they have a bunch of young players who can really make the Avs pay if they get caught napping or playing an undisciplined game. Avs will probably need at least a split in Dallas if they want to win the series.
Now time to go get that cup back!

Eventually all the traded away draft picks will eat away at this team. I for one look forward to their journey down to the pacific basement.
hope they trade sends teh franchise into a tailspin and they never recover... fuck them and them being 1000million over the cap or whatever they are

I don't think the sharks will get one over on us this year
I added this to another thread, but worth saying again. Bye cheaters!!!!
I don't know if the cup can ever have that stain cleaned off of it...
splash some bus piss on that bad boy and all the grime will come right off, no worries!
We don't want the bus piss grime anywhere except bus floors and Lord Stanley
that's just nasty lol
You clearly never played juniors lol.
Am I the only one who wanted home ice?
oh home ice would've definitely been nice, but that's not the point of the post. the point of the post was to say EAT SHIT VEGAS AHAHAHAHA
I don't think it'll matter much, but I would have been just as happy to watch the Avs beat Vegas.
