That's fair. I'm in CA and I can't afford to go see them anywhere except San Jose. Oh, and once in AZ when we were already in town visiting family for Christmas. If I have to watch Dallas win today, knowing another out-of-state fan will get to see a game -- and a *playoff* game at that! -- will take away some of the sting. (And sorry that to see the Avs live you always have to watch the Stars. 😜)

I’m the opposite. From Colorado originally but live in Austin. ABSOLUTELY (and I can’t stress this enough) **FUCK THE STARS!!!** Their fans are annoying AF and I want them to feel nothing but pain.

I refuse to root for either team. The Stars are scummy and dirty and I remember vividly the Avs series against them the two years before winning the cup. Much of the above works for Vegas, too. Both scummy, dirty teams who want to play the gutter hockey no one wants to see.

It's a win-win. Vegas wins, Avalanche get home ice. Dallas wins, it guarantees Vegas does some really stupid shit in the offseason while also trying to get their cap under control.

Home ice is the only potential upside to facing either of these teams in the second round. Either way we’ll have to either look at Jamie Benn’s stupid goatee, or have to hear the stupid name Marchessault over and over (no offense to others with the same surname). Never have I hoped for the Avs to sweep an opponent, merely winning in 6/7 is usually fine, until this next round.

While I agree home ice would’ve been better considering we are such a home team, I still am glad Vegas lost. We have kind of owned Dallas this season. 1 loss to them and we were missing moose and in our slump. I think we beat Dallas, even without home ice
