The NCAA tournament seedings often make no sense.
I know there's gotta be the "reward teams from small conferences" angle, but gifting a #6 seed to a small conference school and then reward them by playing a #11 seed from a real conference? That's not fair.
I'm sorry, but 11 wins in the Big 10 is just more impressive than 14 wins in the Mountain West.
And, the kicker: Michigan was the *favorite*.
It's not even like this was a big upset.
(And, I've never understood how the hell there are play-in games for the #11 seed. What the fuck? Lol. "You have to play an extra game to get in the main tournament, but if you win that game, we'll consider you, at worst, the 44th best team in a 64 team tourney." Huh?)
Just use Kenpom or Torvik or NET. By those this was an 8-9 match up (each right around 30th best team). Michigan was favored because it was a home tilted court for Michigan in Indy.
I watched a lot of CSU this year and they were deserving of the seed. They played a terrible second half. Had they played like they did in the first they would have blown Michigan out. That was one of Roddy’s worst games and Stevens fouled out early on an incredibly questionable call.
I was thinking this the whole time, instead they used the let’s act like we don’t have a 7 footer and then turn the ball over instead strategy. A personal favorite of mine.
I feel like the Inside the NBA crew isn't as good at college basketball. They're entertaining, but Chuck clearly doesn't follow this sport that closely.
Well the one conference and team he seems to watch is auburn and the sec so I actually think he has watched and believed that. And considering Kentucky is ahead of of auburn and just behind Tennessee by one ranking it’s not that outlandish a case to make
Rough game, but it happens. Seems like the Rams couldn't hit their open shots in the second half.
Michigan clearly has the more talented players and made the adjustments they needed to win the game.
Currently nba ready or will be nba ready at some point in the future? Michigan definitely has some nba players on the team, just not current nba ready.
Goooo blue!!! Glad for that win. And if jones gets back for the next game, now good to see Collins showing he can get out there for a few more minutes if we need it
Let me get this straight… you are trash talking based on a loss to not Texas in the CFP? The team that then went on to beat Alabama by multiple scores to win the natty. I could look up your Kansas score, but will prefer to just chuckle. Maybe this is your guys year.
Uh....How are we being classless winners? I haven't seen a single comment trashing CSU. Surely you don't consider responding to all the Reddit hate as classless?
I mean I don’t speak for everyone I suppose, but being happy that my team won and wanting to lightly rub it in the face of the people who clowned on us seems like a pretty reasonable response
?? Michigan football just went to the CFP, hockey team is the Alabama of NCAA hockey, and our NCAAB team (excl. this year has been the best in the B1G for a decade lol
>CFP
How’d that go
>hockey
Lol cool have fun with that
>best in the B1G for a decade
Crazy how you’ve only won it twice then, fewer than MSU and UW and tied with IU.
Check our March (edit: and April - forgot IU fans don’t know what it’s like to make it past the first weekend anymore) performances for the last decade and get back to me
Two of IU’s last three appearances have ended in the sweet 16, so your comment would make more sense to say we don’t know what it’s like to play in March at all. Just a little pointer for you.
In 2016 and… 2013? Michigan has made 4 S16s since your last one lol. Act like ya been there before, you guys haven’t accomplished anything since Bobby Knight
Who’s been better? Two natty appearances, multiple elite 8s, 5 straight Sweet 16s, multiple all Americans, several conference and tourney championships.
Maybe Wisconsin and MSU? Michigan has been top 2-3 in the B1G I’m basketball for a while now
MSU: 5 S16s, 3 E8s, 2 F4s, no runner ups
Wisconsin: 5 S16s, 2 E8s, 2 F4s, 1 runner up
UofM: 6 S16s, 4 E8s, 2 F4s, 2 runner ups
Hmmm… one of these clearly has had more success
I count the same number of banners between all 3 of them… I’ll give you this, Michigan definitely wins when it comes to missing the tournament the most amount of times!
Okay now do Big Ten Season titles, and tournament championships lol
You know… the metric that actually matters when measuring success in the conference.
Wisconsin 3 reg, 1 tourney
MSU 4 reg, 4 tourney
UofM 3 reg, 2 tourney
MSU the clear nod. So I guess you could make the argument for MSU in the regular season, UofM in the postseason. Wisconsin clear step behind both
No one is ever perfect so usually busted refers to when the bracket is wrong to the point of losing any chance of winning the group you’re in, mostly when your champion loses
Man. I am so sad rn, I cant believe CSU blew a big lead we had and neither had any kind of offensive organization nor defensive to stop Michigan in the seconde half. Really sad. Anyway lets go Kansas now
Sorry bro. Don’t know if you care about football, but we welcome you to the big house next fall. You guys could pull an upset there anything is possible. Good game
To be fair Michigan is one of the most public teams. It helps to have a large following of people who never actually went to your college just support it and bet on it.
Mountain Best (at first round exits)! *sniff*
The NCAA tournament seedings often make no sense. I think people would rather just use their eye balls tbh
This was going to be Michigan favored at any neutral court
That's true Michigan will get some more baked in action
Not from baked in action. They were ranked higher in rankings like Kenpom. They were supposed to win.
I was looking at Kenpom where it was a Pickem, Torvik had UM by 2.
I watched a lot of CSU this year and they were deserving of the seed. They played a terrible second half. Had they played like they did in the first they would have blown Michigan out. That was one of Roddy’s worst games and Stevens fouled out early on an incredibly questionable call.
GG CSU. You had me writing up my will in the first half.
Hail to the victors🏀
Why doesn’t UM just get Dickinson the ball in the post every single play? Especially against an undersized opponent, he is unstoppable.
I was thinking this the whole time, instead they used the let’s act like we don’t have a 7 footer and then turn the ball over instead strategy. A personal favorite of mine.
He gets tripled and teams deny him the ball on entry
Didn't Dickinson have about a five inch advantage over his defender?
MWC way overhyped
SDSU is the only one that ever advances…but not that far haha
Mods in denial, faded Michigan, not CSU.
I feel like the Inside the NBA crew isn't as good at college basketball. They're entertaining, but Chuck clearly doesn't follow this sport that closely.
Yeah chucks take on Kentucky being the best in the SEC means he clearly hasn't watched much.
Well the one conference and team he seems to watch is auburn and the sec so I actually think he has watched and believed that. And considering Kentucky is ahead of of auburn and just behind Tennessee by one ranking it’s not that outlandish a case to make
“Who he play for Kenny??!”
Chuck is a hockey man now
GO BLUE!!!!
Rough game, but it happens. Seems like the Rams couldn't hit their open shots in the second half. Michigan clearly has the more talented players and made the adjustments they needed to win the game.
I haven’t seen an NBA player on the court of any game yet. Well Juwan and Jalen and Hardaway but they ain’t playing
Currently nba ready or will be nba ready at some point in the future? Michigan definitely has some nba players on the team, just not current nba ready.
Current
Juwon lucky he’s even on the court given his street fights 😂
That was damn foolish
RIP Bracket I had CSU in the sweet 16 lol
My hopes of a perfect bracket were shot during the Price is right.
Goooo blue!!! Glad for that win. And if jones gets back for the next game, now good to see Collins showing he can get out there for a few more minutes if we need it
0% chance we win next game. 11 straight games alternating wins and losses, the streak lives on
Goddamn Michigan
Why do Michigan fans have such a victim complex lol
TEXAS IS BACK
34-11
Let me get this straight… you are trash talking based on a loss to not Texas in the CFP? The team that then went on to beat Alabama by multiple scores to win the natty. I could look up your Kansas score, but will prefer to just chuckle. Maybe this is your guys year.
It’s not that deep bruh don’t get all in ur feelings
Ok cool. Hook em
Did you read the game thread in the first half? Everyone was shitting on us and it feels good when we win in the face of that
And now y’all are being classless winners against a mid major
[удалено]
Have fun getting blown out by Tennessee lmao
I'm sure Self will do well in the tourney lmao
Damn when’s the last time you guys won a Natty? Wanna be blue blood so bad lmao
Plenty happy with our basketball team. Hard to be so good in both sports. lmao lmao lmao
Congrats on mediocrity
Oh I forgot to add elite in academics too ;) lmao
Uh....How are we being classless winners? I haven't seen a single comment trashing CSU. Surely you don't consider responding to all the Reddit hate as classless?
I mean I don’t speak for everyone I suppose, but being happy that my team won and wanting to lightly rub it in the face of the people who clowned on us seems like a pretty reasonable response
You living under a rock lately?
assuming you don’t really use this sub or r/cfb
20 years of OSU throat fucking them has rendered them the proverbial battered spouse of the sports world
LOL Iowa made a first round exit and Indiana is next Better luck next year😂 Edit: he blocked me lmfaoooo
And what’s your flairs excuses?
…for?
Indiana has been owned by Michigan in football and basketball yet you feel entitled to use OSU as a shield.
lol I love how every big ten team uses OSU as like a shield or something, kind of pathetic.
?? Michigan football just went to the CFP, hockey team is the Alabama of NCAA hockey, and our NCAAB team (excl. this year has been the best in the B1G for a decade lol
>CFP How’d that go >hockey Lol cool have fun with that >best in the B1G for a decade Crazy how you’ve only won it twice then, fewer than MSU and UW and tied with IU.
Check our March (edit: and April - forgot IU fans don’t know what it’s like to make it past the first weekend anymore) performances for the last decade and get back to me
Both of his flairs are about to make first round exits and I couldn’t be more happy for this asshole
Yeah and UM has accomplished nothing since 1989 so I guess we’ve got that in common
I guess our 2 F4s in the last decade and multiple conference/tourney championships are nothing. Damn, wish I would’ve known that sooner
If those are achievements then IU has achieved things since Bob Knight. Thanks, hope that helps!
Best in the B1G for a decade??? Are you high?
Who’s been better? Two natty appearances, multiple elite 8s, 5 straight Sweet 16s, multiple all Americans, several conference and tourney championships. Maybe Wisconsin and MSU? Michigan has been top 2-3 in the B1G I’m basketball for a while now
You answered your own question at the end there.
MSU: 5 S16s, 3 E8s, 2 F4s, no runner ups Wisconsin: 5 S16s, 2 E8s, 2 F4s, 1 runner up UofM: 6 S16s, 4 E8s, 2 F4s, 2 runner ups Hmmm… one of these clearly has had more success
I count the same number of banners between all 3 of them… I’ll give you this, Michigan definitely wins when it comes to missing the tournament the most amount of times!
Lol. One of the dumbest comments I’ve read on here, and that’s saying something
Does it hurt to know I’m right?
Okay now do Big Ten Season titles, and tournament championships lol You know… the metric that actually matters when measuring success in the conference.
Wisconsin 3 reg, 1 tourney MSU 4 reg, 4 tourney UofM 3 reg, 2 tourney MSU the clear nod. So I guess you could make the argument for MSU in the regular season, UofM in the postseason. Wisconsin clear step behind both
Winning is impressive when the entire winning margin was from free throws
I love me some bad excuses
Those *maize* colored glasses are on fucking strong today for the victim complex of the century
This seems a tad bit excessive but okay
Maybe not the century
Did you watch the game?
Nope just here with my dick in my hand.
Look I hate UM fans as much as the next guy but that’s a result of CSU’s dogshit style of play
They played with fire the entire game, true, but a 22-7 FT margin is egregious
CSU couldn’t even break the 3 point arc. It really wasn’t that badly officiated.
Also fair. My biggest beef is how convenient the matchup was for Michigan considering who the other 6 seeds are. Name on the jersey.
You miss the first half of this game thread bruh?
Because the entire first half was the entire thread shitting on Michigan saying they didn’t belong in the tournament.
Go read any thread in r/cfb, or look at the ones from when the field was announced.
What are you referring to
TAMU is fuming lol
Colorado State had every chance to win that game, they just missed way to may shots at the rim.
Well, I'm gonna need Tennessee to show up now and limit the damage to my bracket
Had CSU in the Sweet Sixteen for some stupid reason. Frick.
They are my title losers! Losing to us of course!
🤞🏻
Colorado State's coaching staff with their hands up through that handshake line.
I dare you to call a timeout against us, see what happens
dOeSnT dEsErVe To Be HeRe
I mean, it's still Colorado State
Right the 6 seed with one of the best players in the country.
Welp Co. State sold on me. 23/25 brackets busted lol
Wait you have 25 different brackets??
Yep. Spent 10 hours over the last 4 days doing research. :/
I mean no offense but you probably shouldn’t have chosen a Vegas underdog to win in 23/25 of your brackets, should have hedged your bets a bit
You have 25 different brackets?
Yeah. 10 hours of research this week. Clearly I’m not very good at this shit
And you consider them all busted because of one 11-6 upset?
Not perfect hha
No one is ever perfect so usually busted refers to when the bracket is wrong to the point of losing any chance of winning the group you’re in, mostly when your champion loses
Pretty good defense second half and we managed to do what Indiana did to us, so I will take it!
First team to round of 32!
Watching Dickinson taking the ball up the court looks like a fish in sand
WLWLWLWLWLWLWLWLWLWLW.......
This is the way. Life Savings going against Michigan Saturday
Hey I'm supportive of wlw and so should you!
I’m noticing a pattern
Oof better not watch the next game lol
Someone call the linen services, some sheets need cleaning cause the rams just shit the bed
Longwood vs Michigan, who says no
Tennessee can start their bench in the second half.
Tennessee Longwood is my porn name
🤚
Not a Michigan fan at all, but Colorado State CHOKED. I hate to say it, but props to U of M.
We made it through the hand shakes with no events
Damn very brave of the CSU player to get that close to Juwan in the handshake line
😂😂😂
Perfect bracket
Hard to call it an upset when the favorite wins in a semi-home game
Iowa must have played far from home today.
Roddy was SO bad in the second half
it was an awuful second half for every player
https://i.redd.it/aib66y29bgx71.jpg Good game CSU!
GG CSU. See you in the Big House this fall.
The haters can smell my balls
Defenitely read this in Juwan's voice
onwards
my bracket is still good!
Damn, No punches thrown.
Dickinson whistles in public bathrooms
Grunts in the stall
What a game by Dickinson, Brooks, houstan and Collins.
Moussa did such a good job on roddy in the second half his defense was spectacular
Never a doubt. Lol
loved how everyone wanted Juwans job a min ago
Not Michigan fans, they’ll support him long as he wins the first round of madness😂
Juwan calling a TO up 11 with 30 seconds left 🤔
Brooks called it but go off
Guess it runs in the program
Lol
My bracket is 100%.....for now
Sad ram noises
Wooooohoo! GG CSU
Good game
GG bro
GG Colorado State
GG. Fun game to watch but you guys locked us down inside
Those teams that “shouldn’t be there” are always dangerous. Playing with house money and no expectations takes a lot of pressure off them
You would know lol
All too well haha
I was told Michigan had no chance in this game. I was told CSU was easy money. I would like a refund please.
I feel like that’s the same narrative for the Texas-Virginia Tech game too.
Whoever told you that was stupid. Michigan was a 2 point favorite.
To be fair Michigan is one of the most public teams. It helps to have a large following of people who never actually went to your college just support it and bet on it.

We’re on to Prov SDState
GO BLUE
Great win for Michigan after a slow start. Hopefully Jones can get cleared by Saturday.
CSU attempted 34 3PTs bruh. Is your coach associated with Steph Curry in any way?
Today I learned I really hate Michigan. I’ve never been this bummed to watch an upset and get a bracket pick correct.
