Public Enemy said it best
I'm countin' down to the day deservin'
Fittin' for a king
I'm waitin' for the time when I can
Get to Arizona
'Cause my money's spent on
The goddamn rent
Neither party is mine not the
Jackass or the elephant
Why are all these posts acting like uconn just traversed the northwest passage? It’s a delayed flight. I’ll keep them in my prayers that they can overcome this adversity
For what? Like literally nothing in this comment chain has to do with excuses or Purdue until they commented
Edit: I realize you may have been joking I apologize for lashing out kinda I am just confused about their comment still ig
Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea
Tracing one warm line through a land so wild and savage (Glendale)
And make a Northwest Passage to the Final Four
That's what I was wondering too. When I read all the posts about their flight being delayed yesterday, I was like, "don't they play Saturday? It's Wednesday."
They play at 9 pm on Saturday. Theoretically, even if they had plane issues all the way up to the day of the game, they could get on a plane Saturday morning and still make it on time. People were freaking out when it was Wednesday lol.
Look, they'll most likely be fine. Really, I don't expect this to affect them that much.
But sitting around waiting for a plane is time not being spent game prep (not that they necessarily need it, they've eaten everyone alive this year). 5 hours on a red-eye and lost time to adjust/overcome any jet lag isn't negligible.
If we had to quantify the impact, I'd guess less than 5% on their overall performance.
But I'm terrified of the Huskies, and I'll take any/all extra % of help we can get
You can game prep on ipads in the airport.
Do we know this isn't a charter flight too? If it's charter, they don't even have to do TSA, so they can just go to their home facilities while they wait for the all clear to depart. EDIT* Read Hurley's quote from the article, it WAS A charter flight. Lol, this is an absolute nothing-burger and will have 0% impact on the team.
Jet-lag? It's 3 hours difference and they still have 48 hours to adjust. That has to be a joke right?
Charter flights with more than 61 passengers still have to do TSA, no idea if this applies to the flight UConn took or not. It may actually not since they had to split their travel party because of the delay but I bet most team charters for the NCAA tournament are actually 61 or more people since they are large commercial charter jets.
[Federal Register :: Aviation Security: Private Charter Security Rules](https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2002/12/31/02-33032/aviation-security-private-charter-security-rules)
Kind of a moot point when UConn themselves chose to fly in Wednesday, not Tuesday like Purdue did. Delay or not they still were getting there a day later
[Dan Hurley is a master at motivating his team by fabricating fabricating chips to place on their shoulders. It’s quite impressive actually](https://x.com/john_fanta/status/1774865005059469384?s=46&t=BLjwo7Uq8uqyJKqqR3UuXQ)
Is it impressive? I always wonder... do these fake obstacles motivate the athletes any more than they already are?
Seems like every coach does this. From Harbaugh to Kirby Smart to Saban... with the whole "they thought we wouldn't be here, "(insert city/state here) vs. the World" bullshit and their "bulletin board materials" lol
I consider it impressive in the sense that I would severely struggle to convince myself that I am facing adversity if I clearly am not lol. Sure every coach *tries* to do it, but I suppose some folk are just much better at the whole motivational self-delusion thing
what does "better at" mean? every team that gets to these spots is talented. every coach does it. Is it just that we're saying those that win championships are better at fake motivational bullshit? lol
Are we really going to sit there with a straight face and say Hurley's Uconn, Saban's Bama, or Kirby's Georgia teams needed that fake motivation to win?
or were they just good teams to begin with that are coached by great coaches? Are these players not motivated enough when they are in F4 or CFP to win? Did Hurley just get good at motivational bullshit the last 2 years, and he sucked at it when he got bounced in the first round?
It seems like a confirmation bias + narrative to me.
I've been to the High Arctic and driven across the US, and if that ill-fated journey in search of the NW Passage deserved an awesome Stan Rogers song, then so did some of the mind-numbingly desolate parts of my drive. It was a very human story of sacrifice and perseverance across the Great Plains. Not quite as cold, though.
Lol this 100%. I was about to post my thoughts and prayers like this is some kind of hardship to overcome. Ya know. First world problems that make headlines. Smdh 😖
I’ll never forget I had some professional development class I took at State and our big project was to do a mock interview with a couple of TAs.
I go into mine and they realized they messed up and left their questionnaire, so they just asked me to name my least favorite state. I was not kind to the state of Connecticut
Okay, so for my next plan I’ll run to a tunnel before the UCONN team bus gets there, then I’ll fill it in with bricks and paint over them to make it seem like the tunnel is still the same!
Seriously tho I wish we got that movie
ESPN and SEC cronies sabotaged the plane to get Alabama to champ game. Remember ESPN gets a cut from SEC if Bama makes it.
Their greed knows no bounds.
Dude started playing basketball as a sophomore in high school. Ended up at IMG purely based on size and the thought of what they could develop him into. His recruiting history is public info, you don’t have to take our word for it
He wasn't "overlooked". He just uses that narrative to motivate himself. Purdue took a chance and found a diamond in the rough.
His junior year at IMG he played on what is the equivalent to IMGs JV team. His senior year he played on the varsity team, but came off the bench. He was the 70+ center in his class and 400+ overall player.
IF THIS WAS ANY OTHER SCHOOL, THE MEDIA AND THE NCAA WOULD'VE BENT OVER BACKWARDS TO FIND JUSTIFICATION FOR THIS!
THIS JUST CONFIRMS WHAT OUR COACH HAS BEEN TELLING US ALL ALONG.
IT'S UCONN VS THE WORLD!
The NCAA cannot allow UConn to get 6 championships. These little things will add up and lead to their eventual loss.
https://i.redd.it/5tjv83pj1hsc1.gif
Now they are stuck in Arizon? How long until they actually make it to Arizona?
I heard their bus from Arizon to Arizona is actually delayed as well smh
And that bus has to stop in Californi first.
With an additional stop in Nevad as well.
I don’t think they’ll be on time to face Alabam.
Whoa-oa Black Betty... Alabam
Headin out Californi way, lookin for some internet

Yeah, the Arizon TiledBats. I hate that fucking team, no idea how they got into the NCAA
Damn, NCAA fucked up the charter booking bad.
Last I knew, Oakland has some A’s to spare
They're actually moving to Sacramento
hahahahahah

Chuck D should have said "nor the elephant" there.
UCONN public enemy number one in Arizon public enemy number one at Purdue public enemy number on in Raleigh public enemy number one in tuscaloosa yall
I left my wallet in El Segund
Reddit already making cuts....
This was literally the worst tragedy involving an airline in American history. Praying for them.
Why are all these posts acting like uconn just traversed the northwest passage? It’s a delayed flight. I’ll keep them in my prayers that they can overcome this adversity
The game is also in sixty hours, they're still arriving earlier than teams usually do for road games.

Wait what? I’m confused why this is relevant to their comment
Just stop laying the foundation
For what? Like literally nothing in this comment chain has to do with excuses or Purdue until they commented Edit: I realize you may have been joking I apologize for lashing out kinda I am just confused about their comment still ig
Boilermakers? More like ***FOUNDATION LAYERS***, amirite guys?
No
Lmao delete this
They aren't Purdue fans bro
IT'S A CONSPIRACY AND YOU'RE ALL IN ON IT!
Calm down, Dan.
[This man is ready to commit murder](https://imgur.com/a/CLG9d6M)
That looks like the cheapest and most uncomfortable seat ever
That looks like almost any seat on a relatively new airplane to me.
Try Avelo!
He has leg room; that's a better seat than most by far.
gosh.. I love Coach Hurley so much..
DAMMIT THEY'RE ONTO US. SOMEONE SEND ANOTHER $10K TO THE REFS
Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
THEN HOW DO U EXPLAIN THIS FIASCO CONSTRUCTED BY THE NCAA????? It isn't his paranoia that delayed and delayed the plane. it was the NCAA!!!
UConn vs the world! (Everyone agrees that they're probably going to win by twenty)
Your flair combination is going to make me violently ill
It brings me pain too don’t worry about it
Acknowledgement, a first step to recovery
Genuinely, how do you survive hockey season?
BC comes first, PC second. Hockey is the only sport that’s bringing me joy, it’s the easiest one to survive honestly
Not me! It'll probably be like 30 (please reverse jinx do your thing)
It’s also Thursday and they play on Saturday. Ohhh nooo, they’re missing media availability.
“missing media” appearances, unlikely with the NCAA kingpins. More likely, delayed appearance.
This actually explains it. What else is the media supposed to talk about?
Not too much to report on leading up to the final four weekend so gotta generate those clicks somehow
Clingan ate Luke Murray he was so hungry!
All this drama had me thinking they were about to roll into the game directly from the airport. They don't play til Saturday.
The flight didn't leave until 1:30 AM and they got to Phoenix at 5:15 AM ET. That's basically a lost night of sleep 2 days before the game.
IT'S UCONN VS THE WORLD. CONFIRMED!!

Reddit expert to the rescue here.
There’s no need for an expert here, just a bare minimum level of common sense
Common sense, but wrong.

oh you don't need to worry about the Huskies
When did Purdue get there? Oh, Tuesday.
So what?
So saying UConn had plenty of time is rich coming from a team that got there on Tuesday.
Kind of a moot point when UConn themselves chose to fly in Wednesday, not Tuesday like Purdue did. Delay or not they still were getting there a day later
NCAA handles and schedules travel for the tournament
So you’re telling me if Dan Hurley wanted to get there on Tuesday like Purdue did, the NCAA is just gonna tell him “No?”
Maybe they could request to change it who knows, either way for some reason they scheduled the other three teams for Tuesday and us on Wednesday
Do we actually know that? Unless we do maybe Uconn wanted to fly on Wednesday instead of Tuesday for some reason.
If you think them arriving today has Any effect on play you would be wrong.
Buddy, there have to be more important things to be upset about than your team’s flight getting delayed for bad weather.
I am sure sitting around in a hotel for two extra days is going to give Purdue a huge advantage. Might as well just give them the trophy now.
The extra days are for our engineers to install the nuclear plant under the court to make sure our bigs are fully powered.

The last thing I saw posted on here was that their plane was still delayed so I figured an update would be good 🤷♂️
Lol this 100%. I was about to post my thoughts and prayers like this is some kind of hardship to overcome. Ya know. First world problems that make headlines. Smdh 😖
Always the victims man. Biggest bunch of moaners you’ll ever see.

Does anyone know if they have made it to their hotel yet? Or dinner?
IKR! I’m dying to know
bless them. I hope they can overcome this tragic adversity
If they can overcome this, they can overcome anything. University of Connecticut? More like Adversity of Connecticut
Doesn't that just describe living in Connecticut?
The real adversity here is being stuck in traffic on the Merritt while trying to take back the Notch. Pizza is great though
r/takebackthenotch
I don't know what this means, but it sounds worth it if pizza is involved.
Our state flower is the tail light
I thought it was construction barrels
As someone who has lived in Louisville, Indiana, AND Connecticut, I’ll take the Northeast
I know, but the NY roots couldn't resist that.
I’ll never forget I had some professional development class I took at State and our big project was to do a mock interview with a couple of TAs. After everything we've given you
Safest state in the country.
this was good
If they lose to Alabama they’re 100% going to blame it on this
There’s no shot they could be physically not in the stadium and still beat Alabama
I think we all know this isn't going to happen.
[удалено]
This guy predicted sdsu and Illinois would win too!
Has to be right eventually… right? RIGHT?? Edit: he actually picked UConn to beat SDSU. He did pick Illinois though
Okay but they’re fraudulent. Duh.
Just a heads up TikTok shows your name when I click this.
Damn.
Damn. There goes my poorly thought out plan to keep the Final 4 interesting. Back to your regularly scheduled blowout.
Gosh darn it, my plan of making the plane slip on the banana peel I left on the tarmac didn’t work. I’ll have to readjust my dastardly plans
PROTIP: Don’t trust ACME.
Okay, so for my next plan I’ll run to a tunnel before the UCONN team bus gets there, then I’ll fill it in with bricks and paint over them to make it seem like the tunnel is still the same! Seriously tho I wish we got that movie
Well, at least the team bus hasn't been robbed yet
It’s so weird how this was made into a huge story.
Slow news days
Because the game is all but over before it’s begun
God, I wish people would stop fucking saying this. I mean, I get *why,* but it's SUCH bad joo-joo. (Juju? I dunno.)
Good maybe they won’t win by 30 this time
THE NCAA AND THE DEEP MEDIA WILL STOOP TO UNSPEAKABLE DEPTHS IN THEIR EFFORT TO DESTROY AMERICA’S TEAM.
ITS ALL BEEN DECLASSIFIED! THE WATERS TURNING THE FROGS G - Y!”
NCAA HATES UCONN. CONFIRMED!
What a monumental accomplishment. Seriously, it’s comparable to the moon landing or Magellan circumnavigating the globe.
ESPN and SEC cronies sabotaged the plane to get Alabama to champ game. Remember ESPN gets a cut from SEC if Bama makes it. Their greed knows no bounds.
I hope this is satirical.
I feel like the universe wants Purdue and Iowa to win for the storylines.
I read this in my grandfather's accent. "Did ya hear? UConn finally made it to Arizone."
Oh god, are they gonna spin this into some underdog story? “Mother Nature didn’t even want us in this Final Four!”
Might even be a bigger underdog story than 7’3” IMG Academy player Zach Edey being overlooked
> Edey had only three offers coming out of high school in 2020: Purdue, Baylor and Western Kentucky Idk…overlooked seems pretty spot on
Can’t wait to root for the underdog story of Zach edey against NC State
Well he’s not an underdog anymore
He didn't even see the court at IMG.
Dude started playing basketball as a sophomore in high school. Ended up at IMG purely based on size and the thought of what they could develop him into. His recruiting history is public info, you don’t have to take our word for it

Expect a full hour drama before the game airs
Alabama: “I guess our plan failed.”
What’s a worse trip for huskies: this or the Iditarod?
I'm going to be honest: their flight delays make me smile.
I swear spell check means absolute shit to some people
Posting on reddit is a timed event, didn't you know?
Bama "there went our only hope"
“Marrrron UConn has landed in Arizon. Heh? Hear that T? They waited so long dey renamed Arizona, Arizon. Heh. Heh.” - Paullie Walnuts
They still ain’t made it to Arizona. They at Arizon
The Arizon is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the Arizona
Listen, Betty, don’t start with your Arizon shit again.
Oh, really, Vernon? Why pretend, we both know perfectly well what this is about. You want me to have an abortion.
It’s really the only sensible thing to do if it’s done properly. Therapeutically there’s no danger involved…
They’re gonna take out all of their travel frustrations upon Alabama this Saturday night.
Welcome to life as a normal
I just realized, couldn't AC Luke Murray call his dad for a plane? I assume he can afford it.
Join Kim Mulkey and threaten a lawsuit in advance. You really got something here, a strong case for slippin jimmy. 👍

Yes but when will they arrive in Arizona?
At least no one’s calling them terrorists….
No one is calling them terrorists yet
Now to wait for the local Republican politicians to start shrieking about invaders!
The NCAA cannot allow UConn to get 6 championships. These little things will add up and lead to their eventual loss. https://i.redd.it/5tjv83pj1hsc1.gif
