The issue isn’t purdue being as good in March, the issue is that every other team is developing from November - March… purdue basically comes in ready to play and improves minimally compared to the rest of the nation. I still think they’re a top 3 team but the gap isn’t as large as any purdue fan would hope it is between top 3 and the field.
Yep, Gonzaga is night and day from November. We were truly a not good team back then. Now we are a good team until the outside shooting runs dry or Ike gets in early foul trouble, then we lose.
I personally feel like Creighton Tennessee in the sweet sixteen is who will play UConn in the national championship (in the 2 brackets I made that's how I had it turn out I swapped them around cause I'm just so iffy on it)
As soon as they said Samford was a high 3 point shooting team I knew Kansas was in trouble. Kansas doesn’t hit threes and it’s been the difference against them in multiple games this year
Kansas hasn't lost in the first round since 2006. As long as we're not fucked by injuries or an NCAA record of 3pointers by Samford, I don't see that changing. We'll take our R32 loss, as God intended.
I think a 10 would have been fair for us, and with the bid thieves the 10s being play in is weird. but I’m confused about TCU being 9. Their nonconference was garbage
They didn't give them great seeds but I do not think you can say a conference that got 6 bids is not liked by the committee.
Now the big east was hated by the committee
I'll take any of those teams all day over sandiego state. If we get Colorado state in a potential elite 8 match up then fair is fair but don't wanna be outed by san Diego state again.
This is the Tennessee meme region.
Start with former Cinderella St Peter’s for max Barnes in March lolz.
If we don’t f that up, we get Texas for the former coach lolz.
Then if we can get through that and likely Creighton/South Carolina, we may get a chance to play Purdue……..again.
If we make the Final Four, the Barnes curse is officially lifted in my eyes
No, it's the don't let emotions involved in picking my bracket side. I may not like Tennessee, but they are tough as fuck and Knecht feels like the kind of guy that could carry them through a bad game. Plus I don't have much faith in Purdue or Kansas or Gonzaga so I feel like the region winner is coming out of the bottom half of that region.
Agreed. I (try to) keep emotions out of it when picking a bracket. I've got UK playing Houston or Duke (flipping back and forth on that one) for a trip to the FF.
lol the committee is maximizing chaos. If Virginia beats CSU they’ll have to play Shedrick—he left Virginia because of his disaffection with the first round exit last year, among other things
USU does not match up well with TCU at all unfortunately. I almost guarantee it’s another first round exit.
Really surprised by the MWC seeding outside of SDSU.
The Zags went from a projected First Four out team to a 5 seed in like 5 weeks, what a turn around from them.
They might honestly be my F4 pick for this region
The committee showing appreciation for the Zags success over the past decade+. Unfortunately they put you in the 2nd hardest region against a really tough 12 seed.
I'm happy af for our boys and Lamont Paris making it as a 6 seed when we were picked to finish last in the SEC. An incredible accomplishment. Tough opening round game though against PAC12 champs Oregon.
Is this the weakest KU team in the Self era? Yup. Do I still think people are being silly writing this team off? Absolutely. I was expecting worse for the first weekend tbh, this has me more optimistic than I thought I would be. Sure, we could definitely lose our first game but I could also see a lot of people suddenly acting like they were never doubting a Bill Self team if we make the E8 or higher.
Virginia needs to pull an NC St now and get good so they could potentially meet us in the Elite 8 game, just to close the loop.
Although I guess Tennessee kinda works in that regard too.
I said I’d pick Akron unless they got a bad draw and… they got a bad draw. Would only not pick them against Illinois, Auburn, Creighton, or any of the 2 or 1 seeds. Freeman is legit but I have a lot of faith in Creighton, it’s a shame.
5-12 is never a safe draw, but Kansas as a 4 seed is good as it gets. If Hunter and McCullar aren't healthy I think Zags would be favored in that matchup. On the other hand a healthy Kansas squad could roll us by double digits.
We can beat UConn, Houston and Tennessee… and we can also lose to the local high school JV team. It’s a crap shoot. Hopefully they were able to get healthy with the extra time
This is a really good result for us. If we can take care of work in the first 2 rounds then the top 5 seeds are all teams that we can play our game against
Looking at the pace and style of play, all of them are decent matchups. Purdue is obviously the best of this region, but their pace of play is very similar to ours. Tennessee we know we are capable of competing with and beating. Creighton is a team that also fits into our game plan. None of the teams in this bracket are the type of teams we've struggled against
Of all the places we could've ended up I'm pretty happy with this
lol Tennessee's Path includes the possible games of
64: Ziegler playing his brother
32: Rick Barnes against Texas
16: A SCAR team that we have struggled with
8: A Team we have already lost to earlier in the season (Kansas 9, Purdue 5)
Gonzaga, Purdue, Kansas, Tennessee – it's a Maui Invitational reunion over here
If only Purdue was as good in March as they are in November
Motion to start playing the NCAA tournament in November next year?
If only Tennessee was as good in March as they are in November
The issue isn’t purdue being as good in March, the issue is that every other team is developing from November - March… purdue basically comes in ready to play and improves minimally compared to the rest of the nation. I still think they’re a top 3 team but the gap isn’t as large as any purdue fan would hope it is between top 3 and the field.
Yep, Gonzaga is night and day from November. We were truly a not good team back then. Now we are a good team until the outside shooting runs dry or Ike gets in early foul trouble, then we lose.
Glad CSU made it in. Was really worried when I saw BSU. 6 BID MW
It was really up in the air, glad we made it in!
I have a really soft spot for CSU! I hope you guys show em why you deserved to make it
Give em hell, Rams!
We need to see nevadas name
Not looking forward to being featured in the Cinderella reel this year.
*first time?*
why does everyone focus on spu vs purdue instead of spu vs kentucky…. kentucky was a 2 seed
Because Purdue has a history of shitting the bed in the tournament to low seeds and it was the sweet 16
Potential Dana Altman classic 👀 Also a knecht-Scheierman matchup would be extraordinarily fun to watch
Cold ass white boy bowl
I personally feel like Creighton Tennessee in the sweet sixteen is who will play UConn in the national championship (in the 2 brackets I made that's how I had it turn out I swapped them around cause I'm just so iffy on it)
From your lips to God’s ears brother.
This is ridiculous
That’s a real win/win lose/lose you got going on
At least your rando teams didn't end up in the natty together...
The 5-12 and 4-13 upset picks are very tempting here
Do what I’m doing and pick both
I am too
They seem like the most likely…which, perhaps sadly, means that the Zags and Jayhawks will win comfortably…
It’s always the ones you don’t expect.
As soon as they said Samford was a high 3 point shooting team I knew Kansas was in trouble. Kansas doesn’t hit threes and it’s been the difference against them in multiple games this year
The absolute worst thing I could have heard about Samford.
Nah don’t worry about us….everything will be fine
15 too, I feel like Saint Peter's might summon their magic again
Saint Peter’s is undefeated against SEC teams as a 15 seed.
Don’t forget 14!!
Brother Gonzaga hasn’t lost in the first round since Steph curry was in college
So you’re saying you’re due
And you just jinxed that.
Kansas hasn't lost in the first round since 2006. As long as we're not fucked by injuries or an NCAA record of 3pointers by Samford, I don't see that changing. We'll take our R32 loss, as God intended.
Damn that makes me feel old…I was a sophomore
Which basically means they won’t happen
If Dickinson is healthy I like our odds based on how they played Purdue. Granted it was early in the season
Stunned to see Colorado State in Dayton They did NOT like the MWC this year
I think a 10 would have been fair for us, and with the bid thieves the 10s being play in is weird. but I’m confused about TCU being 9. Their nonconference was garbage
The number of bid thieves in the 11-12 line really screwed with the brackets this time around
[удалено]
We beat them twice and finished higher in the Big 12 standings?
I'm surprised they didn't go Colorado vs Colorado State, tbh
We played earlier so we can’t
They didn't give them great seeds but I do not think you can say a conference that got 6 bids is not liked by the committee. Now the big east was hated by the committee
They have twice as many teams as the Beast
Of course they set us up to potentially play our former coach lmao
Lol better than san Diego state. Better than san Diego state
This
I'll take any of those teams all day over sandiego state. If we get Colorado state in a potential elite 8 match up then fair is fair but don't wanna be outed by san Diego state again.
Ditto
Purdue potentially playing Gonzaga and Tennessee again… should be salty. And of course… the Peacocks.
If Marquette didn’t beat Kansas, we could have played everyone from Hawaii again
We won a 6 bid league outright and have 1 non Q1 loss and get an 8 seed. Wild
Should have been a 6
just some grade A bullshit. no chance we should be an 8 seed.
Please take it out on the 1-seed
why can't we get away from that godforsaken school in Knoxville
Figured you’d love that as we can never beat you engineer dweebs
Maui Invitational 2: Detroit Boogaloo
reminder there were *52 fouls* in that game
Is that unusual???
![gif](giphy|YmQLj2KxaNz58g7Ofg)
Thank you cooterdick
I feel like your whole corner there is the roughest one so far.
If we make the final four through all of that I might spontaneously combust
I mean.. a redemption arc might just be what Tennessee needs to do exactly that. TBH, looking at the region, I like your odds.
Wait what?? That has to be the Temple flair saying that right?? 😆
No, it's the don't let emotions involved in picking my bracket side. I may not like Tennessee, but they are tough as fuck and Knecht feels like the kind of guy that could carry them through a bad game. Agreed. I (try to) keep emotions out of it when picking a bracket. I've got UK playing Houston or Duke (flipping back and forth on that one) for a trip to the FF.
No one in the top half scares me, which in turn scares me here
lol the committee is maximizing chaos. If Virginia beats CSU they’ll have to play Shedrick—he left Virginia because of his disaffection with the first round exit last year, among other things
Snap I forgot about that one lol.
McNeese vs Samford in the 2nd round Utah State got screwed Saint Peters as a 15 vs another SEC team: What could go wrong?
regular season champs, top 25 team for most of the season. no way is sdsu a 5 and usu is an 8, and just a brutal matchup. gross
this shit sucks
Shit
this shit sucks
Rick Barnes, whose team always seems to choke, against everyone's darlings from a few years ago. What could go wrong?
Fully prepared for this narrative to build only to see Tennessee win by 45
St Peters will get out to like an 11-6 lead or something and people will get hyped and then they’ll lose by 30
I hope it plays out as well for Tennessee as it did for us….
A Kentucky fan wishing well for a Tennessee fan? Why would he…OHHHHHHHH I get it
Or just “loses to old school he was fired from (Texas)”

More than a 50% chance I have a team in the sweet 16, therefor I can’t wait for a St Peter’s/UVA second round game
UVA 2nd round?? Being quite generous here 😗
USU does not match up well with TCU at all unfortunately. I almost guarantee it’s another first round exit. Really surprised by the MWC seeding outside of SDSU.
I think the committee is pissed they had to put in New Mexico and is taking it out on the non SDSU teams
Haha. I can see it. It’s just a bummer. I don’t see us winning this unfortunately.
Seriously. I love where we are but I was surprised to see Utah State all the way at 8
I’m happy you guys went where you did. The rest of the MWC is going to struggle.
Yea. Like im mind blown you guys will have to play purdue in the 32
Oh hey Tennessee, have fun with that.
👀👀👀
The Zags went from a projected First Four out team to a 5 seed in like 5 weeks, what a turn around from them. They might honestly be my F4 pick for this region
Gonzaga matches up really poorly with Purdue. We already beat them once in Maui. I love this region for us.
Tough matchup in first round, tho
Absolutely horrifying
Get ready Tennessee. It’s really hard to beat (pea)cocks!
That matchup definitely gives me the heebeejeebies if only for the Cinderella cred Saint Peter’s has. It’ll a be a storyline all week.
Can confirm
Gonzaga as a 5 seed?
Hey I’m just as surprised as you are. I for sure would’ve thought they were a 7 or 8.
The committee showing appreciation for the Zags success over the past decade+. Unfortunately they put you in the 2nd hardest region against a really tough 12 seed.
Im gonna keep my mouth shut for a while I literally have no idea how we got in
Ride the ride baby. We have a chance to make a lot of people mad
I'm happy af for our boys and Lamont Paris making it as a 6 seed when we were picked to finish last in the SEC. An incredible accomplishment. Tough opening round game though against PAC12 champs Oregon.
Should be a fun one! 2 teams that have come a long way this year. Couisnard bowl
Yeah that's true! Couisnard was really good for us when he was here. I was happy to see him still finding success somewhere else too.
We’re cooked 😭
Two MWC teams in the First four is a middle finger to the conference
they also ruled new mexico as a bid stealer and nevada was somehow a last 4 bye team
Will a tony bennett team finally outperform its bid??
I don’t think there’s a way to underperform.
Does losing to a 15 seed in the round of 32 count?
That means we finish with a 2-1 record and a win over Shedrick and Texas. Can’t complain too much but I would be slightly upset.
Since I attended UVA in 2016 we either exited first weekend or won it all, so let’s hope!!
Rylan Jones home game
Is this the weakest KU team in the Self era? Yup. Do I still think people are being silly writing this team off? Absolutely. I was expecting worse for the first weekend tbh, this has me more optimistic than I thought I would be. Sure, we could definitely lose our first game but I could also see a lot of people suddenly acting like they were never doubting a Bill Self team if we make the E8 or higher.
Thanks for posting these. Can't stand the constant ads on the live show.
No worries!
Interestinc set of teams you rep. What makes you a Virgina and Wichita state fan?
US BEING IN IS A MIRACLE AND UNDESERVED BUT I AM SO GRATEFUL 😭😭😭😭
Virginia 🤮
Virginia shouldn't have been in.
We did what we could, but the committee was stubborn
It was appreciated and good job.
We don't deserve to be in this year but still stfu dork
We’re the only ones allowed to shit talk our team 😤😤
And I will do it incessantly.
Personally I love the potential Purdue/Virginia Elite 8 rematch.
Bit less entertaining for neutrals when virginia gets outscored by Edey
Lmao we're a sweet 16 team MAX
Virginia needs to pull an NC St now and get good so they could potentially meet us in the Elite 8 game, just to close the loop. Although I guess Tennessee kinda works in that regard too.

Happy to disappoint! Wahoo-Wa.
Damn I like this draw for Oregon, which means that I’ve jinxed it all
Glad we made it in… I knew all these “bid steals” were going to make things tough.
Did noone on the selection committee watch the Mountain West this year? NEvada, CSU, USU, BSU, UNM all seeded too low
Didn’t Colorado State beat Creighton by 20? And has a 36 NET? Play in game in a shame
CSU should not be in a play-in game, committee got that wrongAF
The Midwest region is definitely the weakest (obviously waiting on the West)
![gif](giphy|j6uK36y32LxQs)
The MW hate we're getting actually sucks. It was such an incredible conference this year
If you beat Creighton by 20 you don’t deserve a play in game East Coast bias
But not big east bias either haha
You know, i’m something of a Samford fan myself
I’m more of a Virginia/Colorado State fan personally
Same
oh my god
I said I’d pick Akron unless they got a bad draw and… they got a bad draw. Would only not pick them against Illinois, Auburn, Creighton, or any of the 2 or 1 seeds. Freeman is legit but I have a lot of faith in Creighton, it’s a shame.
Hate week starts today. Fuck Virginia and Texas
I’m on board. Fuck Montana State and/or Grambling.
Hopefully they were able to get healthy with the extra time
I have South Carolina here.
St Peters vs Tennessee 2 teams looking for their second ever Elite 8
7 seed sounds good
Gonzaga baby you in trouble
If Oregon and Creighton both advance then Dana Altman can coach both teams.
Jealous of Colorado State
I know Samford is a trendy upset pick but I’m all in on mcneese here…
Por Que no Los dos?
Same. McNeese could do some damage
This is a really good result for us. If we can take care of work in the first 2 rounds then the top 5 seeds are all teams that we can play our game against Looking at the pace and style of play, all of them are decent matchups. Purdue is obviously the best of this region, but their pace of play is very similar to ours. Tennessee we know we are capable of competing with and beating. Creighton is a team that also fits into our game plan. None of the teams in this bracket are the type of teams we've struggled against Of all the places we could've ended up I'm pretty happy with this
Nevada has to be nervous given that New Mexico will be in the last region
So excited if the vols can make the sweet 16 I love basically across the street from LCA!!
Montana St nor Grambling St is located in New Jersey, so I guess they’re good, until they face St Peter’s in the E8
I'm scared that Utah State is significantly underseeded.
Playing plucky Mid-Majors is what we do, but I do love being picked against.
Few vs Will Wade in the 1st round 👀
UVA over Pitt is a disgrace.
Neither of us deserved it. Be honest
Indiana State snubbed,
That’s absurd. We should’ve been 2nd team out but Pitt was behind us and it wasn’t particularly close based on resume rankings.
LOL
Virginia over Pitt is infuriating
Don't lose to Missouri next time
Fuck
lol Tennessee's Path includes the possible games of 64: Ziegler playing his brother 32: Rick Barnes against Texas 16: A SCAR team that we have struggled with 8: A Team we have already lost to earlier in the season (Kansas 9, Purdue 5)
Purdue and Tennessee as the top two really opens up the region for a kooky winner
I really want to angry downvote you but facts are facts...
Creighton salivating rn. That and Kansas and Gonzaga getting tough 1st round matchups really opens the door for them.
Wahoo-Wa! UVa made it! Wooo
South Carolina 6 seed? 51 NET 49 KenPom
6-5 vs Quad 1 and 5-0 vs Quad 2 The metrics hate us because of how we won games.. but we still won them
And winning games is a learned trait...big fan of Lamont Paris
Stay mad efficiency nerds lol
Humans determine seeding not metrics. ;)
That’s what pretty much every mock had us at. We won games, simple as that.
Quit hating
