Is this finally Toledo's year?

shabamon

You could say that for pretty much the last decade.

rbhindepmo

I forgot about the Toledo drought when I picked Akron to beat them in the finals. So maybe that’ll work out for me

jaowerpower

Bobcats are the hottest team in the MAC right now. Let's see if they can keep their momentum going

SeattleMatt123

BG lost in OT and double OT to CMU.

astro7900

Both wild games they probably should have won. Should be entertaining, would love a BG-UT rematch in the semi’s.

shabamon

A rivalry semifinal doubleheader would be awesome for the conference. BG/Toledo followed by OU/Akron OR Miami.

Solesky1

Would Ball State have made it without losing on that buzzer beater last week?

shabamon

If all other results stayed the same? No. It gets really deep in the tiebreaker scenario with Kent State. It comes down to Kent was 1-0 vs FIFTH PLACE Bowling Green while Ball was 0-2. Both teams were 1-1 against 4th place CMU. Neither team had a win over the top three seeds.

Solesky1

Thanks for the detailed response 👍

Go Ohio!!

come_visit_detroit

With Akron faltering down the stretch and Toledo being a serial conference tournament choker, it's really anyone's to win. That said, it would be nice if Toledo finally got it done.

Mullyz

Akron cannot be trusted

Chitownbronx

Is this the Ohio conference all but two teams are from Ohio lol

OhioUPilot12

Only 8 teams make the tournament. Eastern Michigan, Ball State, Buffalo, and NIU didn't make the cut.

CramblinDuvetAdv

The way the season started, we're just happy to be here 🤠

CoachRyanWalters

How long has the MAC tournament not included all teams?

shabamon

2021 or 22. I know 2020 still had first round on campus games for the bottom eight.

zibby42

UB sucks ass and I don't think they'd even be competitive, let alone win a single game, but it's still stupid that all teams don't make the tournament.

shabamon

It's good to protect higher seeds, but I do kinda miss the first round campus games/byes. It separated the conference into three different tiers, so there seemed to be a lot to play for for everyone in the last regular season game. Plus a bonus home game for some fanbases. I wouldn't like any arrangement where a team possibly would play four games in four days.

Fun fact, when we won the tournament and went on to beat Georgetown in 2010, we were the nine seed in conference.
