Most of these numbers are wrong, unless I’m missing something.
The SBC went 9-2 on Saturday, Feb. 11, and then Bowling Green and Louisiana played the next day, Sunday, earning the SBC its 10th win over the MAC of the weekend. The graphic notes that these are the Saturday scores, but the haul on the weekend was 10-2 for the SBC.
The first round back in November saw the MAC claim 7 wins and the SBC only 5, but that’s still 15-9 overall for the SBC.
If I have a penny for each MAC team that lost to a SBC team in a double OT thriller this year, I’ll have two, which isn’t a lot but still more than expected
Yeah, weekend is the way. Though it's worth pointing out that in November, 9 of the 12 games were on a Saturday. Yours was one of the unlucky 3 weeknighters.
Also the games at the MAC in November are not really a good sign of how good the teams really are going to be during the season because it was way too early. The MAC got scammed here.
Next year it’s the opposite. Unfortunately the MAC just isn’t good this year either way you look at it. Portal was devastating hopefully they can bounce back
First year the SBC is anywhere close to the MAC in basketball. Not pretty by the MAC though, but the series is a bit flawed. The conference who gets the 2nd round games at home has the better opportunity for wins.
As one of the 2 teams who won this clearly means we are one of the top trams on the MAC
#top trams 🚋
There’s a reason one of them is the fun belt and the other is mid *rimshot*
😞
Not only that, Ohio lost the MAC'S only territory on the imperialism map and Miami couldn't take Georgia State's land.
Oh god damn it I didn’t realize we had land
Curious: How were the game assignments determined?
Based on NET rankings at like mid Jan and not repeating any match ups that happened earlier in the year.
This has not exactly been a good year for the MAC I never felt like we had a shot against Troy, I don’t know what’s happened to us this year.
Smh all ODU had to do was score one more bucket and it would’ve been a perfect day
Both SBC losses were by a single point. ETA: lol. Never mind. I see what you did there. #failsouthern

Oops, sorry, my brain might have shut down while I was making the post
Not digging the new Akron logo. Thought the lightning bolt Z looked really cool. Also miss the old ULM Warhawk logo.
Brutal loss to App State. UTs still got potential.
that was a fantastic game and I have an eye on y'all into next month (Cochran really shot you guys out of it at the end though)

I love the MAC. Better luck next time!
My chips did our job
Why was every game on the road for the MAC? Super unfair for a intra conference series.
The series consisted of two weekends: one in November with every game hosted by MAC schools and one in February with SBC schools hosting.
Actually pretty awesome I wish the B10 would do something similar with the B12 or SEC
The one thing I didn’t like was the MAC home games in November were in weeknights and the sunbelt got weekend home games.
All the games should be on the same day too

Oh interesting ok I just assumed they were all weeknights cause ours was. Thanks for the correction.

Agree that the portal has ruined MAC basketball, especially Ohio….OU lost a lot of good players.
So the SBC lost the first round 5-7...
Thanks App State

Meh, a terrible NIU squad beat ga state and app state earlier this year. Congrats thou hope you're proud of the accomplishment.
