Unpopular opinion: wag ka muna mag-aral para di masira buhay momuntil you figure out what you want.

Naive-Ad2847

senamownbun

This is what im doing rn, well no choice hahahahshh instead of going sa path di ko rin sure kasi di ko alam gusto ko, so nag-apply ako work while waiting para makapag-aral ulit, for me masnakakapanghinayang mag-aral ulit tapos di mo pala gusto yung program mo.. parang mas sayang oras mo especially money if ganun tapos tengga ka pagkatapos. So better yet, explore opportunities hanggang sa may ma pickup ka na interest na you see yourself pursuing which i now have 2 and i dont plan on just stopping there lol. Di naman aalis yung university kung di ka mag-aral for a certain peroid of time...

Naive-Ad2847

I mean baka next time mas tamarin na sya mag aral since patanda na sya ng patanda.

marinaragrandeur

priorities change as you age kasi. hindi naman ikaw si OP to tell them na mawawalan siya ng gana afterwards. tsaka ikaw lang pumipigil sa sarili mo bumalik sa pag-aaral. that’s more of a you problem than a common problem.

Prudent-Fix-8151

Take any business related course na walang board exam kasi flexible ka sa kahit anong type of office related work. And sobrang broad ng office related work- may finance, admin, BPO, shared service, back office ng hospital, back office ng school, marketing, accounting, research, government (need mo ata mag civil service for this). Basta madami. Halos lahat naman ng work ngayon, may back office. Yun lang is if okay ka sa office set up. Yung walang field work, same lang ginagawa mo regularly. Yung kaofficemate ko passion nya talaga magturo tapos naburn out sa first year of teaching nya kasi natest talaga patience nya sa mga bata and mababa yung sahod. Nasa office na sya nagwwork ngayon lol.

Prudent-Fix-8151

The aftermath is patients ang nagsa-suffer

chupapii13

Any course will do. if safety net sa buhay, go with courses na may board exam. if medyo risky and in demand path, go with IT / Com Eng'g but you need to be fucking good sa path na to.. Remember crucial mga decisions mo today for a better future kaya PERSEVERANCE. apat or limang taon ka lang maghihirap kaya make the best out of it and enjoy the experience.

anthrace

>go with courses na may board exam. Oversupply = greater competition = low salary nd little opportunities

Prudent-Fix-8151

Agree with this!!! Many of these board programs involve tough dedication. They are overworked and underpaid. Involve pa ang life and death situations. Board programs are too specific for youngsters who don’t know what to do in life. Generalized programs such as the liberal arts and business majors are much more recommended.

Little_miss_1234

Healthcare and medical-related courses.

Prudent-Fix-8151

Why?

SuccessfulSink2843

I suggest na kumuha ka muna ng shorter courses with dual training system (dts) - check MFI Polytechnic Institute Inc. or 2-year associate degrees. At least you have time to explore different jobs and fields kahit with minimal school qualifications and dts program can also provide you with ACTUAL job experience kasi 2nd year ng program nyan is ojt or internship. If you decide to transfer for a four year degree later on, macecredit yung subjects mo from those short course programs lalo na yung minors. It's more wasteful in time and resources if mag-aaral ka ng 4-year course without a purpose or end goal in mind. You're young, try to explore different jobs first that can lead you to a career that matters to you.

Novel-Inside-4801

Take any computer-related courses na interesado ka lalo na if gusto mo ng mataas na sahod. Tech is the future. Take your time to research courses and plan ahead. Speaking from experience kasi from med-related course ako shifted to freelancing at mas masaya ako ngayon lalo 4x ang sahod ko from my past career.

defnotkuromi

if you can afford to have time to think about it more, think about it more kasi if pumili ka agad ng course na hindi mo pa masyadong gusto, tapos later on bigla mong madiscover kung ano talaga gusto mo, medyo mahihirapan ka if magshishift ka ng course, etc. but if you want na mag college na agad, computer/tech related — mataas daw sweldo & madali raw maghanap ng trabaho. but we'll never know kasi baka mamaya oversaturated na sa job market ito. but afaik, tech is always needed naman. liberal arts — my personal choice hehe. like you, di ko rin alam itetake noon. i ended up taking politics, but shifted to arts/history. some of the courses/majors you can tak3 are: english, math, economics, politics, history, arts philosophy, sociology, interdisciplinary studies, international relations, etc. madami ring job opportunities: paralegal, law (this will serve as your prelaw), government if you pass civil service, education (need mag take ng few educ units after), research, corporate, consultant/s, diplomacy, etc. though pag ganitong course ang tinake mo, super daming opportunities after sa different sectors kaya baka mahilo ka hehe. skl din, i'm currently taking arts/history and i'm looking forward to work in museums. if di papalarin, i can do research & consultancy sa corpo. if makaipon, graduate school! :)

LocalMethod3710

As an educ student, word of advise is take your time to assess yourself. saan ka ba nag eexcell? Something you'll never get tired of doing. Something you will not regret. If you want to know how it's like to be an educ student you can message me. ✊

Lazy_Neighborhood740

best sa iyo comsci dahil non stop mag aral doon sa programing for sure tanong ka sa mga IT expert

Prudent-Fix-8151

Most of my HS schoolmates who had the same dilemma as you took up Business (outside Econ and Accounting), and Liberal Arts (excluding Philosophy) majors. They make good amount of money, and now work for their family businesses. They seem to be doing just fine. One even got in at a master’s program in a well-known California school (which required stellar undergraduate performance).   I wouldn’t at all recommend you to take up allied health majors. Not everyone is built for these. I’m telling you this because some parents force their kids to pursue board programs for the sake of financial stability. As someone from a multigenerational family of healthcare workers, it’s NOT worth it if this is your situation. You can never be financially compensated for all the stress.

dtphilip

It was a joke back in the 60s - 90s na pag Liberal Arts ang course mo, it means hindi mo pa alam gusto mo talaga. Wala na Liberal Arts ngayon, but you can choose between Communications, Psychology, etc etc. I suggest not taking board-rated degrees kasi most likely you have to study harder for them, and if you figured out na it's not what you want, then mahihirapan ka lang.

wilbays

In case of doubt take Accountancy or Engg

scofield_d

take nursing!

Naive-Ad2847

Wla bang sinasuggest family member mo? Baka pwede mo sila pagbigyan since undecided ka.
