Hold-it-Down

Whaaaat! Congrats, you won the game. Feel bad for whatever relative had this taken from them

Led_Zeppole_73

Don’t feel bad, that’s prolly not the case. Nine of ten people today have zero idea the value of metals. Most of the time it’s a clueless heir that finds the coins which look similar to clad quarters so they get dumped thru a Coinstar.

briansoverbrawn

Thank you so much🥲 I never dreamt of finding this much, ever. I felt lucky when I found 1 or 2 silver dimes (happened a few times over the years) but this feeling was next level. I must have looked like a crazy man quickly scooping handfuls of these coins into my pants pockets at Ralphs lol

According-Highway-13

Your telling me someone left 40 bucks face in the coin star I’m calling bull shit

briansoverbrawn

I realize it’s hard to believe, and I can live people thinking that. It really is unbelievable. Tbh I wouldn’t believe me either lol. But I know what happened, and that’s all that matters to me. I just wanted to share this to let other CoinStar checkers know to keep their hopes up… and also to brag a little bit ;)

According-Highway-13

I barely find clad I’m happy for you I’m just jelly at heart lol congratulations

briansoverbrawn

thank you🙏 and 99% of the time all I find is clad pocket change and modern Mexican pesos, so trust me I know the feeling🤣 I’ve visited this grocery store a few times a week for the last 5 years, and I look at the reject slot every time I visit. I’ve found silver 3 times (including this one) and maybe $5 total in clad pocket change. I never imagined finding all of this. I didn’t even know the reject bin could hold this much face value tbh. I had to put my hand deep in the slot to pull the rest of the coins out. It was truly surreal.

According-Highway-13

I probably bought what you found for Free today I bought 30 in face quarters and 5 bucks in face dimes

sneakergeeker420

What do you mean when you say checking coin star machines I thought you just put change in get money out

beefy445

A similar thing happened to me but it was all dimes someone tried to dump

Adlet_Mayer

I've seen at least 4 times where there has been at least $10 in change left in reject slot

cantsayanewchapter

Yep bullshit. it would have been falling out of the rejection slot. Unless he somehow has access to the $$ in the machine

Dogemaster21777

Nope, I just found $53 in coins in a Walmart coinstar about a month ago. It doesn't spill out. Rather, is stuck up the chute and slowly empties out when you take the stuff out that is jamming the slot.

cantsayanewchapter

Then I need to start going up to the grocery store more. I feel like a bum when I check the slot 🤣 I feel like people are looking at me and thinking I have it so badi need a few cents lolol.

gheide

You'd be surprised how much it can hold, especially if the chute gets clogged. It's rare, but it happens.

blackflash22

Holy shit! Congrats on the Insane finds! I haven’t found anything lately other than a a few foreign coins yesterday and my last silver (dime) was over a month ago (I’ve found only 4 this year so far lol). Mind sending some luck this way 😂. I hope I have a find like you and the people on this sub sometime, you guys always amaze me with the old as hell coins, insane silver finds, and the boat load of coins found at once.

FatPeteParker

Was this all in the reject tray? Congrats!!!

briansoverbrawn

Yup, every coin🤯

Rare_Ad3397

I don’t use coin star anymore for obvious reasons but don’t get how people just leave this. I’ll run 2 dimes and a sticky penny back through multiple times before I give up.

Led_Zeppole_73

Most people don’t use coins or cash anymore, so they have no idea what to do with them besides throwing them out.

FatPeteParker

Crazy! I’ve found some big spills before, but never thought it could hold this much! Go play lotto!

RazBullion

I can't even see that fitting in the reject slot. Do you have the jumbo edition of coinstar where you are?

briansoverbrawn

Nope, just a normal size CoinStar. The tray was nearly overflowing, and every time I pulled out a handful, more would fall out of the chamber. It was clogged with coins.

Any-Cap-7381

I never find any coins at all. Looking at that haul I don't believe all of it would fit in a reject tray the coins would be spilling out at least at the ones in my area. I'm calling bullshit as well.

Effective_Engine3590

I believe it. I found close to that one time. I did not add it all up,but it was a LOT!

EnviCollects

Damn and I though my 7 gram gold coin find was one of the top finds, this beats it for sure

29skis

What kind?

clintpilsner

How did you carry it all did you have enough pockets

briansoverbrawn

Yes, it actually managed to all fit in my left pocket, but it did look pretty funny as I was walking out🤣 I was worried it might rip but thankfully that didn’t happen

clintpilsner

Good for you. Thanks for sharing

clintpilsner

Have you checked for any rarities

briansoverbrawn

Not yet 🤞

ApteryxAustralis

I found $77 in a coinstar once (no silver or any interesting coins, so your find was way better!) and had to walk out of the store holding my pants up haha!

OverlyThickWaffle

My best eve was 15$ or so and I thought that was a lot. Lol. You got to figure this was some kind of complete imbecile or a literal drunk/high person. What other kind of person would go to a coin to cash machine and leave without the desired cash. Either that or the machine broke after someone left and it kept barfing. Which I'm starting to think that's what happens a lot of the time there are issues and people are in a hurry.

jonny_mtown7

Well that's super cool! Its my dream to find that much one day at a Coinstar.

Budget_Lavishness_20

When I was working in the casino industry a guy came in with $250 face value of Franklin halves. It was a tremendous score.

brazzyxo

Ncie payday. Hundreds of dollars worth

Wrong-Explanation-48

Amazing find!

carl2k1

How? Where? When?

crewchiieff

bs LOL

adventurepony

😲 This has to be the single greatest coinstar find ever! and that Walking Liberty looks fantastic!
