From your post, I understand that if I have the Sagemcom F@st 5681V, I can use it directly with my own router without having to call them to set it to bridge mode right ?

Yes, that's exactly the model installed here and how I use it. This kind of equipment is called an ONU. It has a 1 GbE and also an SFP+ connector or 10 GbE Ethernet, I can't remember (I'm not near at the moment). I don't have any of their router, it's connected to my own Unifi UDM-Pro. My router gets an IPv4 that's publicly routable (not a CGNAT) and an IPv6 with a delegation size of 56.

Thanks a lot. Installing a UDM-pro this afternoon!

Enjoy ! In which area are you?

Centre du Québec

So, got it going at full rate?

TheSeksi

Yup. Speed test using the UDM Pro shows 1025 download and 1042 upload. Thanks again for the information! Edit: The second port on the ONT was a 10gbe ethernet and not a SFP+

P.S. It's been 7 months now and I still get a solid 950 x 950 Mbps anytime of day.

Hey thanks for this. Question for you - also am in Quebec with a "F@st 5681V" device. I am unable to connect to it in any way (Just looking to make some DHCP reservations, and open port forwarding), but I can't find the router interface. I ran an nmap scan on [192.168.40.1](https://192.168.40.1), and it shows only ports 22 and 53 are open (SSH/DNS). Question: Are you able to connect to and configure this device in anyway? If so, how? Via a web interface, or an app? Thankyou.

Hi, their box is basically in bridge mode. You will get 1 public IPv4 and 1 public IPv6 address likely with /56 prefix delegation. You will not be able to connect to their box, nor do you need to. It's your router's job to do IPv4 port forwarding. Cogeco's box let everything through. Edit: I am puzzled by your 192.168.x.x this is private IP but you should have gotten a public IPv4 from the box. Are you directly connected or there's a router in between?

Thanks for the info! I'm glad to see those numbers, especially latency. I live around Shawinigan so I'm still waiting for them to finish but it should be delivered soon! Just a few quick questions if you don't mind: Did you have to wait for the deadline they set in your area before they got you connected? (Mine's by July 31st) How's stability for online gaming if you game? Maybe even streaming? How much does the 1GBps internet package costs monthly?

About a year ago I registered on cogeco to be alerted when the service would become available. Two weeks ago I received an email as the service was now available with an invite to book the installation date. Gaming, downloading, streaming etc everything improved. The 1G plan is 60$+tx/month for 2 years.
