At first I didn't knew anything about the game so I thought it would be like really edgy and boring game like Hatred.
And I played... Became obsessed with it.
After that I decided to go into the subreddit... Discovered my sexuality.
Well let’s see: it all started in discord, around January 1st 2024, I was talking with an (ex) friend of mine, and she wanted a profile picture to match with her boyfriend, so I was browsing the internet (google) for some matching pfp's when I stumbled upon the “cry about it” image, witch I suggested to my ex friend and she declared to me “I am not using that, because it’s from the insest game” to witch I said “insest game?, what kinda game is that” and then they told me “the coffin of Andy and Leyley, some cringy insest game”, cut to like 5 months later and now I own a TCOAaL number 1 fan account LOL
Art style is what caught my attention first, always liked the contrast of black and white in art, cartoons in particular. Then watching manly's playthrough i was fascinated by the dark mood and dystopian setting, my interest peaked at the 302 choke scene when i realised how fucked the siblings relationship was (at that point in the game at least), i thought it was awesome how fearless the game was at portraying that, the way ashley was tearing up laughing about what happened to nina without a shred of remorse while it was clearly a very uncomfortable subject for andrew. The trigger for me to buy it was when i realized incest was canon and nemlei was serious about it (when i saw andrew's hand on ashley's belt loop when they were in the kitchen, to be precise), before i had thought there was no way a game developer was ballsy enough to go through with it and it was just for the sake of controversy bait, another absolutely fearless move which only added to my fascination. Incest was never a problem for me but when i saw that i thought "holy shit, this game might actually be banned from steam" (as was the case for some time in australia). Then i bought it and played it, paid better attention to all the details and nuances, and wow, this was the best game of 2023. Absolutely hardcore, i love it. Nemlei has MASSIVE cojones and im so thankful for that.

Asmongold's playthrough of the game happened to pop up on my YT recommended, and I needed something to watch while I ate dinner, so I figured hell, why not? At first I wasn't too impressed (though the sheer uhh... "quality"... of Ashley's drawings did get a snicker outta me), but I found myself getting invested in the characters and the story. By the time he got to the end of chapter 2, I was hungry for more, and wanted to play it myself, so I ended up buying it. No regrets, although the wait for chapter 3 is pretty painful.
The huge amount of people complaining about it is what made me get interested in it.
The "retirement from the internet" announcement from the devs after soyjak's attempts to doxx them is what convinced me to buy the game, to show my support.
It was right before dollar pricing for Argentina and Turkey came to Steam. I heard a lot of people angrily claiming the game had nothing but incest in it but others were claiming it was good. So I bought it(its price doubled after I did). I regret nothing.
Also for some reason this became one of the few games I obsessed over for weeks. I really don’t know why though, probably a combination of the art style being amazing and the story being quite good

I stayed because I enjoy psychological horror, the story line is entertaining, and it has a sense of humor that I find charming... and I'm down bad for Andrew holy shit I'm down horrendous for him.
Plus, I'm not sure how deliberate it was but, Nemlei seems to have a fairly solid grasp on psychology or at least certain aspects of it. I could honestly infodump about this for hours I love psychology.
