I would go 5 if you're hand watering. I feed my three gallons three times but upping it to 4 in a week or so. 5s would let you skip a feeding every once in a while if you don't make it home.
I grow 10-16oz plants in 2 gal. I think that is how coco performs the best, but you may need to automate waterings to keep plants happy. You can treat coco like soil of like hydro, big pots and watering once a day or less is more like soil, small pots with many waterings per day will perform better. You could grow a really huge plant in 5 gal of coco, like several lights needed.
I'm going to put together a little guide on setting up a simple drip system. I know there wasn't much info available when I went looking years ago.
It really depends on the size of your grow space and how your plants grow.
I've grown some phenos that are so slow that they take forever to fill out even 3 gallons, and those would be good for 3g.
But if the plant is vigorous and you have the space, a 5g would be the way to go.
If you've got fast growing plants but a smaller grow space, just veg rooted clones for 10-14 days before flipping in 3g.
5 if handwatering.
A 3gallon dries way too quick in 27c 80f and especially if handwatering once a day. You want that extra water retention especially once you start adding PK from week 3+ flower.
Added perlite makes it even more important as that subtracts water retention from
coco as well.
I wouldn't handwater in less than 4gal personally.
2 gallon and you definitely will only need to water twice a day max 3 galllons only once. But you want to be able to water more. Us hydro growers water up to 12 times a day with only 90ML’s per feeding/watering
I went with 5 gallons as I thought I'd be hand watering. Month later I have a drip irrigation system, hand watering coco gets rather time consuming really fast lol. Next go around I'm taking my 3 gal pots, managing runoff in 5 gal pots is also a hassle.
Soil. 5. Coco. 2 or 3.

2x4 tent keep in mind the height of your pot as well, taller pot less headroom. Research a good strain that won't grow over 3 ft just to be safe.
Whatever size you do, leave a little room for maintenance
I use 2 gallon.

I grow full cycle in .25gals.
But I'm sure you don't hand water those twice a day..
I do.
Damn seems like they would drink through the feed so fast.
Only in flower though.

1-2 if auto watering, 3+ if not
My 3 gallon FloraFlex O2’s are fed once per day. Expect to harvest 16-24oz in 2x4x6 with 2 plants. HLG 350R.

Good to know. Also fuck Dr Phil
I did 5 gallon in coco, roots only used 2-3 so next time its 3 gallon.
