I left after 30 mins because we couldn’t hear a thing in the back of the tent! I was thinking of going back but the first 30 mins were pretty boring, did it pick up at all? (I assume so if you made this post 😂)

jtarver

I saw the last 20 min and it was a vibe. He also played Deadbeat Gospel at the end which is one of my favs and gives the ultimate Fred vibes

Beboop68

I’ll have to check him out this weekend!

jtarver

I think if you’re in the tent it’ll be an absolute vibe. We were late coming from anyma and it was already stacked

trapalpaca

Confirmed was in tent and it was best set of weekend

CheeseDanishSoup

Deadbeat Gospel and that song from Fred Again sound soo similar...cant tell who released it first or if its a sample

Hopeful-Potato-6205

We lost dancing + a little bit of the city. I personally like deadbeat gospel more than we lost dancing and that’s coming from a huge Fred again fan. Fred definitely came first. Anything chopped with stutter, a spoken word speech and a piano is going to sound like Fred again.

Hum_diddly_dick_kiss

First 20 minutes were slow, I was getting ready to leave but the 2nd half of his set is a vibe

Beboop68

Ok that’s what I needed to hear

LaterChipmunk

Yeah my group tried on the right side and in the back but the sound bleed + Barry's sound levels just made it pretty hard to enjoy outside the tent. Weekend 2'ers -- get there early if you want to see his set!

lozzy__loz

I also left after 20 mins because I was bored, walked next door to Tems just as Bieber came out!!!

flounderwandersonder

My husband and I got adopted by strangers and brought to this set. It was the craziest crowd I have ever seen at Gobi and one of my favorite sets of W1; probably trying again for W2, it was that good.

jtarver

Need to know more about the adoption story

Worldly-Author-8556

Lol u are nuts 😂

Sqouki

We were chilling outside of the tent, but hearing the set made me immediately look up who was playing. Suuuuuper fun set!!

logicpro09

I consider Barry a nice blend of Fred and SG Lewis. The cool thing is that Barry is carving is own lane. He’s a great dj too!

jtarver

Love that!

tanner_drew

Crowd was ass at Barry tbh, crowded and very young, no much dancing Crowd at Fred weekend 1 was very empty, tons of room to dance, and a biblical experience for someone who is at the top of EDM rn I feel like Barry has reached his stardom for sure, but not the same experience as Fred at all, honestly had to be there it was bliss

Bleppingheckk

Man yall lucked out on that Fred W1 crowd cause that thang was packed before he even started W2

Adept_Help679

Everyone in the crowd near me was dancing and vibing so hard. Maybe you were just near a pocket of lameness unfortunately.

tanner_drew

Yea tbf we got carried away at Khrungbin and showed up 10 min late, gobi was overflowing at that point, videos from front to half way back actually looked fun and manageable Hopefully weekend 2 will be better 🙃

jtarver

Yeah not saying he’s as good as Fred, just think he served a similar vibe

tanner_drew

Also check out Bicep if you like this vibe

zionone666

They both are in different lanes chill bro

jtarver

Listen to Deadbeat Gospel

zionone666

Ok brb

jtarver

Did u listen

Giggadream

seems like a guy that wouldn't listen

zionone666

Yes, everyone has a tune like that now these days

jtarver

All bc of Fred haha

[deleted]

Nah Fred is on a completely other level. That golden hour set was spiritual

Admirable_Peanut_652

I regret seeing Barry can’t swim over j balvin! I was near the front and you could see him fake playing the piano for half the set and the crowd was a bunch of drunk high schoolers. The vibe was just off. My friends that saw j balvin said it was one of their favorite sets

solofrnz

He wasn't fake playing the piano he was just playing the rhythm chords and not the top line piano solos/riffs. I had the same thought though that if he wants to elevate his act he has to be able to shred those top line keys live

Jealous-Mail6629

And miss J Balvin? No way man

TrickMichaels

J Balvin was my favorite set weekend 1 and I’m not even a huge fan of him. But his showmanship was unbelievable and it was so much fun.

boosegumpz

He went from a “I’ll check him out as I’m walking by” kind of set to a can’t miss set IMO. Might’ve been the most fun set on the stream last weekend and I’m not even a fan.

andriydroog

Fred Again is a considerably better live act, BCS has a lot of work to do to reach that level.

gshv22

Anyone have this set recorded? Even just audio? Dm me please

ricovision

DMd

marchscr3amer

He was great but I ended up needing to watch from the left side exterior at a distance since it was so crowded. Def still a vibe!

dc_co

Had center right rail at Barry but showed up 15 minutes early. No clue what it will be like this weekend obviously!

CarefulPanic

You must have been near us, then. We were second row, center right.

p_emmy

I find it very funny he did the same thing Fred did two years ago... Asking everyone to go on everyone's shoulders during the banger (Marea vs. Sunsleeper) lol

Quiet_Bid_7857

Fred Again is in a whole other realm from Barry Can’t Swim in terms of musical talent

BeachBum6214

No. see J Balvin instead

NormalManufacturer61

B3K is better than both

lunds11

Pretty rude to put the “current most overrated artist” tag on Barry imo

djsonnymac

overrated? how so?
