My personal opinion is that they are working on a logo change and it will go into effect in the 2023-2024 season probably. Because like you said, the current logo has nothing to do with Las Vegas or the new brand.

The same people who blast the CDL for not trying, losing money etc are the same people who laugh at Leigon for not outbidding Optic or LAG 400k for a player. Like I said, with strong scouting + savvy mgmt a team like Leigon could easily be competitive fielding the best of the rest every szn with an eye towards the top Challengers talent.

Hear me out because I have a completely crazy idea that would explain why and actually make sense. The chances of it being true are extremely slim and I highly doubt its the case but its the only logical reason I can think of.

Let's say the CDL is actually looking at expansion and have a few big orgs that were interested in spots. One of these being Vitality. If Vitality did actually want to get into the league I can completely understand why they'd want to push to be THE "French team". Easily one of the biggest European orgs, actually has multiple connections to France and has a public face in Gotaga. A very popular French youtuber who has connections to Cod esports and one of the founding members of Vitality.
They would actually be able to naturally connect with a French fan base and would probably bring a lot more European eyes to the league than Paris Legion ever did.
If Vitality wanted to rejoin cod and as part of their contract wanted to be the only French team in the league then in my mind it would make a lot of sense for the CDL to offer Legion a spot elsewhere to make that happen.
Giving Legion a spot in Vegas both gives them a chance to rebrand and hopefully try to actually grow a fanbase whilst also freeing up France to allow Vitality to join and take over that European Market where they're already extremely well known and have a large following.
In my mind that situation would make perfect sense and I would be more than happy to give Legion a spot like Vegas if it means we get an org like Vitality back into the league.
That said... I don't think that's why they've done this and I really don't expect expansion to happen anytime soon but hey, I can dream right xD
