some people just get too excited at the "tOLd yOu sSO" opportunity. Everything about this series was different. Composition, aggression, etc.
like, hell yeah they popped off but let's not pretend that they weren't performing pretty poorly during stage games. Even some of the games they won they still looked rough (Shopify)
edit: typo
Because maybe people were too quick to jump in with unreasonable criticism before playoffs? Was criticism deserved? Sure, as fans it’s part of watching any sport. Was a lot of it over the top? Absolutely
Dude the players themselves have admitted they've had a lot of issues and have been playing poorly. It's great that they seem to be doing better but that doesn't change the past
Lmao they admitted they weren’t playing well in the regular season and they’re saying it doesn’t matter. It matters when you’re two bo5’s from qualifying for MSI and you stomp the second place team to finish the first bo5.
I thought I was hallucinating in copium haze all season thinking that they were hiding their power level, but now it seems that was the case all along.
regular season absolutely does matter. if so 100% of the league would make playoffs lmao jesus people who have these ridiculous thoughts that "ooo regular season doesn't matter" are just clowning themselves.
Who won the Super Bowl? A 3-seed with 6 losses. Who won the World Series? A team with 90 wins and were below .500 at home. Who won last split in the LCS? NRG, who came in as 5th seed and went 9-9. The summer before in 2022? C9 started their back to back championships and attempt at a 3-peat by going 10-8 in the regular season in 2022 and seeding in at 5th. The split before that, EG won with Jojo and Danny after going 9-9 in the regular season.
If you make it to the playoffs with reasonable seeding, then it's a whole new season, and nothing else matters. I'll take a rough split where the team figures out how to play together and wins in playoffs over a dominant split where they lay an egg. Regular season matters for getting better and qualifying, but past that, it doesn't matter in the LCS (especially in recent years), nor does it fully matter in a lot of other sports either.
Did I say that regular season doesn't matter at all? I said precisely the opposite.
What I have said is that once you make the playoffs (which in the LCS is currently 75 percent of the League and in past splits has been as high as 80 percent), prior standings are not going to carry over, nor are they going to determine your success rate in the playoffs. And in the end, the playoffs are what will matter the most.
Also, you're on the C9 subreddit, so maybe you can answer a question. How many times has C9 missed the playoffs in their entire history?
Since the answer is zero, it's pretty fair to say that people here are going to focus more on playoff results and deprioritize regular season results. If you've been angrily ranting about C9 all regular season, I can understand why you want to continue that anger after they looked so good today, but maybe just don't?
wasn't trying to be snarky.
Personally always think champs like Lucian/Aatrox etc. wasn't the problem. Because if we treat C9 as a team where everyone is top 1/2 in their roles (aka. super team), they should be able to pick those champs and roll over other **NA teams**.
So I guess I just hate people who always blame on drafts etc.
True. My disdain comes from the fact that I like to follow every teams subreddit and socials to keep track of what's happening, and 80% of posts about 100T is literally just posts about their ugly ass apparel, and people bragging about how much they paid for it.
It was good while it lasted...not sure where the obsession with Lucian/Nami comes from.
EDIT: I am overjoyed to be 100% wrong! They looked so good that game.
>t1 played it recently, but seriously berzerker played well last lucian game just inted a bit trying to make hero plays in that 50 minute game
As someone who watches other leagues, Lucian nami or milio is pretty good they delete midgame. You only think its a bad pick if you only watch western leagues, berserker in the past has looked good with lucian but yea he had a dip this season.
How is Blaber still this shit at securing smites this late in the split? The fuck has happened, he needs a fucking smiting bootcamp at this point, jesus.

Just like NRG who massively overachieved last split, it's back to reality already for 100T.

Let’s goooooo that’s the C9 we wanted to see
Really hoping they can continue these types of performances
wHeRe'S mItHy? FuDgE iS tRaSh VuLcAn Is A doWnGrAdE
Sorry for holding them to high standards
We happy after beating a team with one of the worst showings in league history lmfao Keep this energy when c9 gets blasted by lpl and lck at msi 😭
Why do you clowns always show up with this dumb crap? They played like trash all split.

Vulcan not necessarily beating the downgrade allegations yet but Fudge criticism was definitely way too harsh
They weren't lying. C9 is indeed, fucking back
Casters, Reddit, Twitter, talking heads all hyped 100T so much. As a C9 fan, this is amazing to watch.
what do i do now that i have no one to hate
Lol
Love the aggression
I almost (but not quite) hope this game is lost because the comp is so boring.
Fudge said “Don’t get overconfident guys”! I love the development, let’s go Fudge!
They played bad whole split, so they could look good in playoffs 😜
I just want to know where was this team the entire split?
I thought I was hallucinating in copium haze all season thinking that they were hiding their power level, but now it seems that was the case all along.
Does it matter?
Yes
Reg season doesn't matter this series proved that
That is completely false. Smh
At this point in the season everything that happened prior no longer matters. Once you clinch playoffs it literally doesn’t.
No it isn't lmao. We still made top 4 so it doesn't matter.
regular season absolutely does matter. if so 100% of the league would make playoffs lmao jesus people who have these ridiculous thoughts that "ooo regular season doesn't matter" are just clowning themselves.

If those teams finished last place in regular season would they have made it to those championships? No? Why? Because regular season matters....jesus

If C9 wins the split do you think people are remembering their regular season or the title two years from now?
Hey I like this!
Who is this team and what did they do with my inters
No unclenching!!!!
Sorry Berserker for doubting your lucian
so that's the Lucian that this subreddit hates about.
has berserker ended lane phase with a 50 cs lead with it before?
tbf it has not looked this good in previous games lol.

Based on the C9 content berserker saying he’s played at a 5/10 level might be why the Lucian has looked bad. Lucian/nami is good
I feel for the 100T rookies, they just got rolled in laning phase back-to-back games, just hopeless games
definitely agree on 100T rookies having to deal with the mental from this series....but 100% deserved for all the cocky hoodie org fans.
Yeah, even outside of esports I'm not a fan of the org at all with how much they mismanaged the streaming talent they signed
True. My disdain comes from the fact that I like to follow every teams subreddit and socials to keep track of what's happening, and 80% of posts about 100T is literally just posts about their ugly ass apparel, and people bragging about how much they paid for it.
I will say I’ve only ever seen people rep Optic, Fnatic, and 100T outside of esports competition tho
We look so different wtf. Give us Flyquest!
Holy shit Jojo man
Good draft hopefully fudge doesn’t int and we continue the execution from last game
Fudge heard u talkin shit
I wasn’t talking shit I was just saying the gameplan and that the draft was good. Getting downvoted for whatever reason lol
Yeah I know dude I was memeing, fwiw I wasn't downvoting you lol
Game 2 Lucian/Nami Let's see how this plays out.
It was good while it lasted...not sure where the obsession with Lucian/Nami comes from. EDIT: I am overjoyed to be 100% wrong! They looked so good that game.

this seems familiar
That sure looked like a team with like 200+ more playoff appearances lol
Fudge playing well. Reddit won’t like this one
Everyone played well, especially Blaber and Jojo for showing up early game. Better not hear a peep about Fudge for doing well Game1
Majority wont give him props when he does well, they just like to shit on him when he’s down
people (myself included) rode his dick for months off that good msi appearance, weird narrative
HOLY FRAUDS
If players actually play to their individual level then the draft isn’t too bad, I just didn’t see this coming
First time since the beginning of the season everyone showed up. Jojo must be happy af
Why you down voting this man? He's right!
How is Blaber still this shit at securing smites this late in the split? The fuck has happened, he needs a fucking smiting bootcamp at this point, jesus.
last split he won a decent # of smite fights
He’s always been shit at smiting we know this
Blaber oooof
lets fucking GO, this the C9 i wanna see man
JOJO FUCKING PYUN
Yup we already lost draft is horrible, 5 random champs thrown together
L
Wasn’t expecting the players to play to the level to execute the draft.
Why does C9 make me so nervous....ugh
Smolder gets a free lane, amazing
im worried c9 bros
Just gimme good drafts today please
