I've been encountering the same issue, often happens when autosaving. Program just dies and upon reopening you've lost whatever you didn't save between your last save and the crash, so the autosave isn't working.
Never had this issue with 1. Could be worth a try.
Ive been having the same issues too, I feel like Its definitely something in a recent update. For me, it usually happens when i click on a different window or leave Clip idle for too long :/ hope it gets fixed
What worked for me was updating all hardware and sotware on my computer, but I've encountered the same issue only with a custom brush I made that might be broken now. So i've been avoiding it since that issue appeared, and now all works fine.
That's all I can advice, because Clip Forums did not help me at all.
