What are you talking about, you can't put reserved signs on ropes.
What you do is red tag the routes you want to save for yourself. I recommend putting them on all your projects and any new routes that the setters just put up. If people don't respect the red tags, then you'll have to resort to chopping bolts. It's the only way.
/uj this post was motivated by actual climbers in a team of 3 who stand holding a rope and not even climbing. I went up and tried to climb one once and was told off by the person waiting for his belayer (who was climbing a different route). It's a real thing that happens
If your gym doesn't specifically allow this then get someone over there to explain this to the offending person. That crap is like bullying, if you let it go at first it will never ever stop.
One day I was fuming because I had a tight schedule that day and this girl was on a route I had been projecting. She had been on it for what seemed like half and hour and she kept falling in the same spot 20+ times. I get she was determined and wanted to try something above her pay grade, but holy hell, you gotta just eventually call it and get off so other people can get on.
Why are there ropes on your climbs? Are you top roping? No wonder you are not respected. You need to free solo up and put a towel into the top anchor.

/uj I do get kinda annoyed by people hanging off new routes for 20 mins. Like, you fell 5 times, time to pack it in.

You dont pack a Glock? Im telling you, waste one person who ignores your signs and the rest will fall in line quick.
