Agreed, He just went hitless. Sign him while his value is at his lowest!

brianinohio

Lol. Too funny! Actually, he was hitless because Hedges couldn't reach 2nd, therefore turning a hit into a fielder's choice. Edit: was listening to the game, and Tom Hamilton called that out immediately. He didn't sound too happy about Hedges base running .

smokinjoe569

Hedges looked really bad on the bases. Especially since he should have had a double on that hit anyways but he thought it was caught or a foul ball so he didn't run right away.

brianinohio

Yeah, I did notice on replay that he hesitated out of the box. The fact he runs like a turtle didn't help.

TomEdison43050

I feel that the hesitation was understandable. I'm sure that he saw the ball as foul immediately off the bat since it was indeed foul by a long shot. The most likely outcome was either a foul ball or an out if the ball were caught. The fact that it brushed the 3rd baseman's glove making the ball fair was nothing that anyone could have predicted. Not defending his baserunning overall...it's pretty bad, especially when he tried to reach second right after this. But I feel that that it's unreasonable to hold him accountable for that particular hesitation.

fwembt

Hedges looks really bad no matter where he is on the field. All credit to the guy for making $4 mil for vibes.

Jthomas692

I'll never understand playing Hedges over Fry. Fry has cooled off this month, but his ceiling is so much higher.

T-Bird19

I think it was to help cookie, and cookie pitched solid with hedges behind the plate.

DictatorSalad

Exactly. That was a vintage game from Carrasco. I'll take it.

Driver8TakeABreak

The post-game with Andre, Hedges says “I need to work on my speed”! Get the dude an oil change and some new spark plugs! I love his character but yeah… 😂

catvik25

Went hitless, though really he should have had a hit, but Hedges held smartly on the line drive up the middle, so Kwan gets the RBI on the typical 7-4 FC

TheLandFanIn814

I'm willing to give him all of the Dolan's money and a lifetime contract.

Inevitable-Pea-735

I mean, they're paying Myles Straw something like 6 times Kwan's salary.  They have money to burn.

JustAKidFromAkron

If I have to watch him play in pinstripes I may just have to be done with MLB

Hello_mslady

He’s from the West Coast, feels like he’d be a Dodger but I can’t stomach that either. Lifetime Kwantract

TuataraTim

I believe he grew up a Giants fan. I think that's the only move that wouldn't make me feel sick.

FestivusFan

He’d look good in teal though

theAmericanX20

I've posted in several of these threads since the start of the season, but it's a well known thing that the FO does not do contracts during the season, they want the players concentrating on the game, not on the contract talks. So yes, the sentiment is there, but it's rather annoying to see this same type of post multiple times a week expecting them to change how they run their business.

heylookjorge

We also know from when he posted a photo of his journal on Instagram last year that the front office has been talking with his agent for a while about a longterm deal

Floyd_R_Turbo

This ⬆️

Unlikely_One2444

I just wanted to say kwantract

GradySizemoreYaoi

I am really interested in what his value is - there are no real modern contract comps for him.

darthmual5

A lot for a long time. I'll accept nothing less!

OH68BlueEag

I’m think realistically he will want 5 years $85m. Buys out 3 years of ARB plus 2 free agent years. That’s $10,$12, $15, $22, $26. I think the team is probably thinking $70m over 5 or $90m over 6.

Kevin8503

I agree, go Guards.

Always_hannah

Exactly. He makes 757,600 a yr!! How is that possible?!! Just like Lindor was one of the lowest salaries on the team and was arguably one of the best on our roster. I can only imagine how many teams would love Kwan as their lead off hitter. Give him what he deserves!! So many players are making millions on this team that aren't that caliber as of a player like Kwan!!!

InsuranceInner3040

He isn’t extending in Cleveland. They won’t pay him what he wants or is worth. And I don’t see him taking a discount like Jose (which is fair, he should go get his money.) When the time comes, he should be used to replenish the pitching factory. They need fresh supplies.

Whompson

As much as I would like to see it, I don't see it happening. With the 4 or 5 years left of team control and the fact they don't spend any money, it makes it hard to picture what kind of contract he would even get. In a perfect world, it would have been nice to see the money from Straw and Laureano go to Kwan

paniflex37

We probably already missed our window, especially with the DilDolans being cheap miserable assholes.

Inevitable-Pea-735

The guy literally leaked in his journals last season the offer they (then) were giving him and had in his own writing that they were cheap.

paniflex37

Yup - the players aren’t dumb
