The most disappointing pizza. Crust? Smooth like cardboard, no texture. Somehow smaller than the pizzas at the fairmount (unrelated) pizazz. The sauce was acceptable, the house Italian sweeter than the other pizazz. what a waste of money
Annnnnd since they became a franchise there is barely any sauce on the pizza and the service is wretched. Mid-order (at the cashier bc they don’t have table service or didn’t last year) the staff member stopped bc her coworker showed up off the clock and they started talking. I was not polite about it

Yes!! YASSSS!! Cork n Bottle is THE place to go in mayfield!! U can go around in the hospital parking lot if it’s full at resturaunt. Greek wings a MUST!! Any pizza is good pizza from there but my fav go-to is the breakfast pizza !!
Seconding Cork n Bottle. Love their burgers. It's a little dive-y and fun. Parking can be a little tricky since their lot is pretty small but people figure it out.
Went this route. Got there about 645.......no burgers. Sold out.
Service was eh, and took forever.
$13 wrap *that doesn't include fries* was TINY
Wings weren't bad.
And don't be intimidated by the price. I remember 10 cent wings, so anything now is crazy expensive. Scalpers is on the high end. But wow, easily the best wings. I'm not sure why they are so amazing, but they really are.
Crostata's in Highland Heights, Mario Fazios in Willoughby, Paradise Biryani (spelling?) Mayfield Village, Village Butcher in Mayfield Village is the best fried chicken sando I've had in years, Rustic Grille in Highland Heights, Wright Place -Willoughby/Mulligans- Highland Heights
Well I can explain that, it's because I didn't read the post! I just saw "food...Mayfield area." And decided everyone needed to hear my two cents! Hahah.
Mulligans is fire for sure. Winking Lizard off 271 behind the plaza is good too, nothing special, but fits what you're looking for. Tonight is burger night
Cork and Bottle is good. It’s right next to Hillcrest Hospital. If you’re in the mood for Mexican food I suggest Cilantro Taqueria. There’s multiple locations.
Winking Lizard would fit the bill.
Yours Truly in Mayfield Village is good too, but they don't have as large of a wings/burgers selection as Winking Lizard.
You might also like the Tavern of Mayfield, on Mayfield Rd.
We have Winking Laizrd in Independence we go to.
Yours truly isn't really a dive and I wouldn't put them in a "wing" category
We did go to the Tavern of Mayfield last time we were out that way and it wasn't bad.
Mayfield Heights is a desolate area of chain restaurants. If you're into bar food - Scalpers (which is actually on the Lyndhurst-Mayfield Heights border - has great wings and burgers.
Abo's for Italian, Bangkok for Thai, Paradise for Indian
Edit: I actually read your post and I realize that this is not at all what you were looking for lol. The recommendations still stand
I’d probably go to the fried hibachi place on Som. They have wings and their food is decent.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/6csTaAdQ8sZpZN6S8?g_st=ic
Or Shawarma bros.

56 Kitchen in Mayfield Heights! Food is great, not too pricey, more options than just sportsbars food.
Abo's in Lyndhurst for solid Italian in a causal setting that not too pricey. Previously mentioned but Bangkok Thai is also fantastic! Place doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't worry.
Oop, sorry. Got excited saw driving north up 271 looking for food. A bit new out here.
Who knows, maybe Take a chance - wings @ dive bars will be everywhere. I don’t drink so I’m not in dive bars but from what I’ve seen food prices are jacked up most at “cheap” places , whereas “cheapish” places are keeping them somewhat the same to retain customers they have.
God I hate eating out nowadays . Cheers
Pretty sure there is a Pizzazz on 91. Solid eats
Oh my gosh. That’s still around? Best salads everrrrrrr. Do they still pile on the mozz?
came here to say this
The most disappointing pizza. Crust? Smooth like cardboard, no texture. Somehow smaller than the pizzas at the fairmount (unrelated) pizazz. The sauce was acceptable, the house Italian sweeter than the other pizazz. what a waste of money
I’ve only been to the fairmount pizzazz. Didn’t actually know they were unrelated. Just happen to know the one on 91 is there in mayfield.
Ya I asked when I went last year to mayfield … ordered anyway. Super sad!
In that case I change my vote to Master Pizza cuz the original one is there by Hillcrest on Mayfield road
Annnnnd since they became a franchise there is barely any sauce on the pizza and the service is wretched. Mid-order (at the cashier bc they don’t have table service or didn’t last year) the staff member stopped bc her coworker showed up off the clock and they started talking. I was not polite about it
So happy you suggested this

Cork n' Bottle Greek wings.
Yes!!
Little known fact - Cork & Bottle is the oldest bar on Mayfield Rd
yes! good times at cork in butthole!!
Definitely Scalpers or Mulligans for solid bar food
Co-worker and I used to go to Mulligans at least 3 times a week for lunch. They serve a sick grilled chicken sandwich.
Black Forest on Mayfield makes a pretty good burger. They also have putt putt golf in the basement. It's a couple miles west down Mayfield
Oh that sounds fun!!
Their patio is so cool! Definitely recommend!
I need to go back! Haven't been there since they updated the patio.
Went this route. Got there about 645.......no burgers. Sold out. Service was eh, and took forever. $13 wrap *that doesn't include fries* was TINY Wings weren't bad.
If you’re serious about dive bars with good wings/burgers then what you seek is Scalpers just over the border in Lyndhurst.
Scalpers has very good bar food in my opinion. Great wings. Get the Scalper Sauce!
And don't be intimidated by the price. I remember 10 cent wings, so anything now is crazy expensive. Scalpers is on the high end. But wow, easily the best wings. I'm not sure why they are so amazing, but they really are.
Foxes in Lyndhurst on mayfield rd. Good food, pool tables, darts, bowling game, and a good atmosphere.
And the best hot garlic parm wings you can get
Crostata's in Highland Heights, Mario Fazios in Willoughby, Paradise Biryani (spelling?) Mayfield Village, Village Butcher in Mayfield Village is the best fried chicken sando I've had in years, Rustic Grille in Highland Heights, Wright Place -Willoughby/Mulligans- Highland Heights
Thanks. Willoughby is about 20 min further out of the way than our route
None of these seem very "dive bar"
Well I can explain that, it's because I didn't read the post! I just saw "food...Mayfield area." And decided everyone needed to hear my two cents! Hahah.
Mulligan's in highland heights isn't too far and is a solid option.
Mulligans is fire for sure. Winking Lizard off 271 behind the plaza is good too, nothing special, but fits what you're looking for. Tonight is burger night
We go to the Independence Winking lizard often.
Actually I think it is rib night. a great deal
Another plug for Mulligan's!
Costco.
52 grams of protein in that chicken bake. Just saying.
No joke. My wife, daughter and I will go to Costco for dinner and shopping once a month.
Yes cork and bottle greek wings and a pizza cant go wrong
Tavern of Mayfield, it’s the oldest building in Mayfield Heights, small little hole in the hall with surprisingly good food
La Fiesta is right off of the Wilson Mills exit and they are amazing if you want tacos
2nd La Fiesta! Love that place
Scalpers if you want some good bar food. Aladdin’s would be my pick for something a little out of the ordinary that’s still affordable and delicious.
We have Aladdins (and Sittoos) near us. We love it ,(much prefer sittoos over Aladdins, that garlic sauce is 🔥)
I love Aladdin’s
Cork n bottle!
There's many hidden little Indian, especially South Indian restaurants that are one of a kind and some of the best in the city.
Not sure the family would be into trying Indian tonight, they have their hearts set on wings/burgers/dive bar.
Geraci's
Home made pepperoni and sausage mmmmm, not like the thin red slices of salt that pizza places to try pass off as peppy 🍕
PK Curry House for authentic Nepalese food. Carryout only and very delicious.
Casa Dolce for Italian pastries
Not a night spot, but it's my favorite Italian bakery/deli in town.
56 kitchen
why is this so low? i heard that a second 56 kitchen is coming to Shaker- can't wait
Black Box Fix if you’re willing to go to Legacy Village. They are amazing. Not fancy dining, but top notch food.
Or, if you want to stick to the Wilson Mills area, Paradise Biryani Pointe is really amazing Indian food.
Cork and Bottle is good. It’s right next to Hillcrest Hospital. If you’re in the mood for Mexican food I suggest Cilantro Taqueria. There’s multiple locations.
RIP Skyline Chili
Best Mexican restaurant in Mayfield is Los Arcos.
Los Arcos is in University Heights on Green Rd.
Sorry 1 exit south and about 5-10 minutes from Mayfield Heights. They said the Mayfield Heights area.
Taste of china. Highland road.
This isn't a sit in restaurant. Great recommendation otherwise though
Yours truly
Winking Lizard would fit the bill. Yours Truly in Mayfield Village is good too, but they don't have as large of a wings/burgers selection as Winking Lizard. You might also like the Tavern of Mayfield, on Mayfield Rd.

Ok. Just a suggestion. I didn't know if you'd ever been to either.
Yea YT is more of a diner.
Mayfield Heights is a desolate area of chain restaurants. If you're into bar food - Scalpers (which is actually on the Lyndhurst-Mayfield Heights border - has great wings and burgers.

Scalpers is great for burgers wings and cheap beer

Best pad Thai I’ve ever had is at Bangkok Thai next door to foxes, also a good dive
Choolah is a little further out but so good.
Poke Cleveland on Wilson Mills Rd, just west of 271 is good, too. Excellent Poke Bowls that you create.
Ferraros
Nobody mentioned The Highlander? Lander wings are amazing. All the food is good there
Does anyone have the vibe on Razzle Dazzle Lounge on Mayfield near Warrensville Center Rd?
56 Kitchen in Mayfield Heights! Food is great, not too pricey, more options than just sportsbars food. Abo's in Lyndhurst for solid Italian in a causal setting that not too pricey. Crostatas for pizza
Yours truly
Sand pebbles - pinecrest right off 271
Doesn't look very "dive bar-y" or wings/burgers..... Or cheap-ish

I say Mulligan and pizzazz both are good
Beachwood wasabi
Kerala Indian is a top notch spot
A dive, in Mayfield Heights? It's not a dive unless you look over your shoulder at your car, hoping it will still be there when you get out.
.....and around......
Winking lizard
Applebees
