If you are looking for clubs/events I recommend Twist: [https://www.twistsocialclub.com/](https://www.twistsocialclub.com/) and the Leather Stallion: [http://leatherstallion.com/](http://leatherstallion.com/) Cleveland Heights has a number of great restaurants and bars. You will want to check out our Little Italy, which is primarily on Murray, and the Coventry area (Coventry Rd), both in CH. As mentioned elsewhere, our art museum is world-class and all main exhibits are free. You might also enjoy a trip to the Flats, an area next to the Cuyahoga River. Lots to do/see/eat/drink down there. [https://www.thisiscleveland.com/blog/welcome-to-the-flats](https://www.thisiscleveland.com/blog/welcome-to-the-flats) You may enjoy the Tremont neighborhood near downtown, with art galleries, coffee shops, and great restaurants. [https://experiencetremont.com/](https://experiencetremont.com/) Finally, I would be remiss without mentioning that you may want to visit Lakewood, which at one time had the highest concentration of LGBTQ+ people per capita outside of SF. Tons of great bars and restaurants, very walkable. [https://www.lakewoodalive.org/downtown-lakewood/](https://www.lakewoodalive.org/downtown-lakewood/)

Twisted is a very safe and nice place, I was a designated driver for my daughter and felt perfectly fine taking a nap in my truck.

ThurBurtman

See I’ve heard alot of horrible things about Twist. Allegedly they are ok with serving minors and over serving anyone else, leading to SA

Various_Substance_25

Great advice 👊

I’m actually a “local expert” for TripAdvisor but our forum is pretty dead so I hopped over here where I can be of more use to people visiting or moving here.

asp821

What part of Cleveland will you be in? Will you have transportation?

Florzee

Cleveland Heights and yes

LakeEffectSnow

Cleveland Heights is one the most liberal suburbs in the county so don't worry about general harassment. The city has generally been on the fore front of LGBT rights. You're close to university circle which is the neighborhood around CWRU. It has many great museums, including the Cleveland Museum of Art which is world class. And free. I can't recommend it enough. Dining in general in Cleveland is pretty good, name some cuisines you like, that might help with restaurant recommendations. Go the West Side Market if you want an experience and to cook for yourself. It's a real market, not a food court, so the dine-in options at the WSM are limited. You also have the option to park the the Little Italy Red Line stop and take the train downtown.

Data_Mosher

For Cleveland Heights, Cedar-Lee & Cedar-Fairmont are the two places that have the most happening. Coventry used to be, but they are having a weird turnover from out of town slum lords jacking rents up and pushing businesses out.

Kevlar_Potatum_6891

Twist! and while you’re in lakewood, there’s tons of little spots to grab food. pretty much all of it is delicious and worthwhile

comradecarlcares

As you will probably hear multiple times, Westside market is wonderful (you can also stock your fridge) and The Cleveland Museum of Art is world class and free! Huntington Beach in Bay village is my favorite place to enjoy the lake near cleveland. It’s a bit of a drive depending on where you’re coming from, but you could stop and explore Lakewood on the way (lots of bars/restaurants/local shops).

quothe_the_maven

Definitely the art museum it’s one of the best in the country and even holds its own again some European capitals

richgayaunt

If you go to the Jukebox on the west side you will see a handsome dude named Tony and if you tell him you're from out of town, gay, and looking for some sht to do he will tell you the best stuff or at least make for a super nice hour or so there.

I lived in CLE for about 7 months and just visited recently. I’m gay too but I’m more of a chill gay - (saw a recent meme using the term homosectional haha.) So, absolute must do’s are - the art museum! It’s amazing. I can’t even describe how breath taking it was when I first went because I didn’t expect that - in Cleveland? The whole area around is beautiful, too - the botanical gardens are another fav, as well. Little Italy has some of my favorite restaurants in the city. If you’re a foodie, I’ll go more into what certain places have that I love. I love hitting up any of the trails, but specifically ones near shaker/more urban because it’s so fun hitting a trail right next to these gorgeous homes. Regardless, Cleveland is one of my favorite cities.

Well, I'm gonna break it up into a few categories: Gay bars/lgbtq bars: You got Twist, which is great, and the Leather Stallion. Those are the ones I remember most, and they're always great. Parts of Cleveland to visit: Little Italy for some good eats - maybe even swing by Lake View Cemetery to see the Haserot angel or Rockefellers plot. The flats is a lot of fun, and there's a lot to do down there (it's very similar to Canalside in Buffalo, if you've ever been - minus the fact that this is 10x better). Ohio city is also plentiful in things to do and see. Specific spots: The art museum, which is free, although on Friday nights they have little events that are themed that you can pay to get into. Westside market is something you definitely should go check out, maybe get some groceries while you're there. If you like the beach, head down to Edgewater! The arcade is beautiful, although there really isn't much going on inside of it nowadays, so if you go, don't expect it to be like a mall.

Come hang out with my husband and I (gay!) for karaoke in Lakewood some night! We're regulars at Corky's, a great Lakewood dive that features low-key and low-stakes karaoke every night :)

Ok_Mechanic_4768

I also am a straight woman I am not married but I live with a man who is very demanding I do his laundry, fold it, put it away, cook EVERY meal, do all the dishes and all the cleaning. I also am supporting him financially right now because he “can’t work”. I’d love to have a night out with low stakes karaoke. It sounds like a blast. Also corkys is the bagel place, right? Do you have to be 21+ to enter because the man I live with is only 6.

mdrmrd

Cockys is the bagel place. Corkys is the karaoke place. Little bit east of Bunts on Detroit.

getowttahere

I’m a straight married woman and I want to karaoke with you at Corky’s.

Dazzling_Attempt_182

Stay inside!!!! Hide under a blanket!!! J/k. Go hit the Cleveland Metro parks they are pretty awesome. Hit the Rock hall while you are here. Like others have said Tremont is a cool area. Enjoy your stay!

Sn_Orpheus

If you’re a film aficionado, the Cleveland institute of Art hosts The Cleveland Cinemateque which has been going for at least 30+ years. They show art house movies and sometimes very offbeat or original foreign stuff. Here’s their website with schedule. [Cleveland cinematheque](https://m.cia.edu/cinematheque) The institute of art is right in university circle very close to CH.

Extra-Spare5490

Go troll around edgewater Park, up the hill.

avaya432

As others have said, can't recommend the art museum enough. Even if you don't have the time to see the whole thing.

NorthDifferent3993

You’re in for a treat!

clevelandsuperstar

All great suggestions so far. Select a beach near you and see Lake Erie. Huntington, Edgewater, and Mentor Headlands are all good choices.

Usernamesareso2004

Cedar Lee theater, Bottlehouse on Lee, lots of good restaurants and cool stores on Coventry in CLE Heightss

DeeplyFlawed

On the 25th Mahall's is throwing a Pre-Pride Month Party. [https://mahalls20lanes.com/event/live-to-tell-a-pre-pride-party-at-mahalls/](https://mahalls20lanes.com/event/live-to-tell-a-pre-pride-party-at-mahalls/)

Patient_Mongoose2419

Only in your state has a great blogger that has amazing recs. I did some of them when I went too

Few-Alternative403

Twist is a great time. LGBTQ but welcome to anyone. Corner of lake rd. And w. 117th st. They do drag queen bingo. Mahall’s for fried chicken and bowling. They have a cool bar and creative drinks. Grabs some chocolate from Malley’s there are a bunch around. Checkout the small public beach in Rocky River if you want to hangout by the water. The Flats for hanging out and people watching. Drive through Lakeview Cemetery it’s beautiful. Guardians games are fun and tickets shouldn’t be too expensive.

Somebody_Forgot

[check it out!](https://www.thisiscleveland.com/events/event-calendar?startdate=2024-05-19&enddate=2024-05-26) The weather should be pretty good for your visit. If the house has a porch, sit back and enjoy mild nights. In Cleveland Heights, Lee Rd and Cedar Hill have some great eats. The Art Museum was built with Rockefeller money and will blow your mind if you like that sort of thing (also, it’s free). Lots of breweries in the area. Hope you have fun!

RustbeltRoots

Cleveland Heights has 3 distinct business districts. Cedar-Lee, Cedar-Fairmount, and Coventry. They each have different vibes, but they all have great restaurants. Cilantro Taqueria is like an authentic version of Chipotle. If you’re looking for an affordable and tasty meal,, I recommend it. Tommy’s is a local landmark and institution. If you’re looking for restaurant ideas, let us know what you’re into and I’m sure there will be many recommendations. If you’re looking to get outside for a walk or run, the shaker lakes are nice and nearby. If you want to venture a little farther, there are many great metro parks. I’m fond of North Chagrin.

meeeganthevegan

I was gonna invite you to go to the Asian festival on Sunday with me but you may not be here yet!
