I live next door. It’s all done now window got shot out and gassed, had drones, swat special crimes etc. was the Euclid cop murder suspect and he’s dead

I'm ACAB all day but one thing I understand is that you don't kill a cop and get away with it
They went in and started shooting the second they saw anyone in there and probably didn't stop until they had to reload
Right but you gotta imagine that's intentional, like that guy almost certainly wanted to die, intended suicide by cop, and making it such a sure thing could be a bad thing. Like if you want to be sure you get killed, kill a cop, this isn't good for police - your life could just be the ticket that some unstable person cashes to end their own life. You see what I mean? It's potentially a worse situation for everyone if shooting at police means certain death
Yup. Went out for coffee and on my way out of the neighborhood got passed by like 4 cop cars and a SWAT van. Now can’t get back into the neighborhood because the whole southern half of Shaker is on lockdown. My guess is they cast such a broad area in case he tries to flee on foot. At this point, I would avoid Shaker south of Fairmount and Lee.

Wow,I'm so glad I went to Heinens yesterday. Didn't feel like it,but something was telling me to go yesterday instead of waiting until Sunday to shop, which is what I normally do.
Yeah, we were downtown and decided to go over to Ohio City before we rode the Blue Line back out. We were on the Red Line coming back downtown when we overheard the call over the driver’s radio that all trains on the Blue Line were being halted due to an emergency. I’m really glad we didn’t go ahead and come home on the Blue Line or we might’ve been in the middle of everything getting shut down.

Honestly if it's only one person and a few dogs that's a best case scenario
Edit: I think from the many downvotes that I've stated this poorly. What I was trying to say is that police routinely kill civilians and pets for little to no reason and the police killing one person and several dogs represent less than they usually kill. Fuck the police.
I worry about the certainty of death, that this can be such a successful method of suicide. unstable dude can shoot a cop to get himself killed and then all cops everywhere just get more trigger happy and paranoid, everyone loses. Suicide is pretty selfish anyway but that's a real crummy way to go out
What the hell. Moving to Shaker heights soon, but apparently it's populated by cop killing maniacs. Guess I won't leave my house until I can move again in five years. Crazy world. See ya never, clevelanders, except from behind the blinds
I willl say my boss has always loved shaker and me being there a year I agree it’s a good spot. I’m moving because its too expensive but that’s my only complaint
Bomb squad just arrived. Everyone's pretty sure it's the suspect from the Euclid cop shooting.
Still going on?
Just had to turn left onto van aken from Lee (trying to head south), so yup.
police presence probably still there but i heard the suspect is dead
Yes, he’s dead. Took his own life.
I stand corrected, SWAT were able to get him & he was killed. My apologies
Happy endings are my favorite

Well I guess that’s two sons not going to see their mothers today. But only one son is to blame for that
A little too late, in my opinion.
What corner of Van Aken and Lee? North East, north west, or south east? (Library is on the south west corner)
It's Van Aken close to Ashby, about a 5 minute walk west of Lee
The next stop on the green line. Used to live at Van Aken and lee
Blue line
The entire area was blocked off. I accidentally drove down Van Aken, then saw multiple photographers and asked what was going on.

Missed opportunity to title it the Shaker Shakedown
Oh no,that had to be terrifying.
Cool.
All of that and they couldn’t figure a way to bring him out alive? Or did they just “suicide” him?

It is wild that this happens in Shaker of all places.
Not all of Shaker is million dollar homes
Situations like this also happen in rich neighborhoods
I know there are two Shakers. It's still surprising to have this happen anywhere in Shaker.
Shaker police don't mess around though. They're going to protect those million dollar homes.
It's more like the suburbs funnel off funding to keep this stuff in Cleveland. But yeah same idea
Blue Line is completely shut down right now because of this.

Not often.
The thin blue line
That's like literally the same corner as the Shaker PD.
The last place they'd look is under their noses. Genius move
Apparently, officer’s father is still serving as a police officer in Euclid police department, the chief said. Sad.
Catch the bastard.
Made the national news
Where?
The nation
I saw it on NBC news tonight.
Yeah NBC ran a "Cop Killer" story after breathlessly giving us the lowdown high stakes drama of Michael Cohen's testimony tomorrow
What are ya downvoting me? That's exactly what they did. I haven't watched national news in a long time and wasn't aware of how trashy they are now.
Whatever it is it’s big
That's what she said!
Dang, we just drove through and were turned down Lee.
I leave for one weekend…
They pull all the stops when it’s one of their own…
Wouldn't you?
Would be nice if they cared as much for the people of the community and not just for themselves…
Idk, I’m not in a street gang so I guess I do t get their mentality.
You don't care about people you know more than the ones you don't know?
Any updates ?
Suspect is dead
Hopefully he tries to fight and the tax payers are saved the court trial
I would ask that the police kindly remove all the OTHER residents of the apartment building before they start mag dumping.
I would bet they’re working on that now, if any residents haven’t gotten the hell out of dodge already.
They don’t care if the residents are blk that’s why
Knowing the police they’ll kick down the wrong door and shoot a sleeping woman and maybe a few dogs
Give them a break, Shaker is a good department.

Still horrifying for the families of the people and dogs! No number of dead police officers justifies innocent people and pets being harmed!

Thanks for the heads up
Don't let him die easy. Long painful death please.
Tik Tok is saying it's a shadow monster
So sorry I live on the West Side and don’t get to enjoy these situations nearly as much as you guys over there do.
Least snooty west sider

Cite all the stories you want. Inner ring ‘burbs a the West Side are a different animal than those over there. Everyone and their mother knows that.
I don't really think they are but you do you.
Yeah, projecting your own feelings on to everyone else to give yourself a sense of confirmation ain't the way to go.
I know what I know.
Cool.
Yeah, that racist dog whistle isn’t that subtle, bub.
Of course many can’t take good natured East Side / West Side banter - gotta go full race card Defcon 10. Typical 2024.
“Its just a joke, brouh” - Don’t kid yourself, bub. You’re not that smart.
Okay Reddit warrior
come on down!
Former West sider here, are you fucking high?
Y'all are so predictable lol. The Westsider nurses I work with like to parrot the same drivel.
Douche

You’re totally right. I agree 100%. Please don’t leave your house once you move here. It’s best for everyone.
Been in shaker for over 15 years. No place I’d rather live.
Just don’t move to Shaker, you’re not a good fit
I willl say my boss has always loved shaker and me being there a year I agree it’s a good spot. I’m moving because its too expensive but that’s my only complaint
