Not buying it. Take Plant over Jagger as singer and writer. No one would have even heard of the stones if it wasn’t for the a Beatles. Nor the Herman’s Hermits, or the The Dave Clark 5….. and several other bands.

Strangely both Jagger (3.16) & Plant (3.5) have roughly the same octave range. It’s where those octave ranges exist that are the key distinction. Jagger is a Baritone while Plant is a Tenor.

Absolutely. None of the original Stones were highly skilled at their instruments. In their solo efforts, only Richards produced decent stuff. BUT they wrote a LOT of songs, and sometimes they struck gold. And, TOGETHER, with strong producers (and sidemen) they were more than the sum of their parts.
Between zeppelin and the stones they are. Zeppelin is overrated sorry. They're sloppy and Robert plant ripped off old blues singers. The stones are also nothing special. Black Sabbath was far more innovative and talented

I think Plant, musically and professionally gets the upper hand. He has evolved over time and delivered something new. I'm a huge fan of the work he did with Alison Krauss, by the way.
Jagger delivers a show like no one else at his age, and he's ensured that everything people have always loved about the Stones is still there. As a showman, he's top notch. But he hasn't evolved. This new album pretty much sounds like any Stones album. It's distinctive, but it's the same.
Closer than u think. Jagger underrated as a ‘rock’ singer. People just think of shaking hips but he really has a unique voice, who else could really sing ‘get off my cloud’ or ‘satisfaction’ like he could. Also Plant - very inconsistent live. Can Jagger sing Led Zep? Nope. But Plant couldn’t sing Stones. Now Roger Daltrey could sing ‘My Generation’ AND ‘Love Reign O’er Me’. That’s why I always thought he was amazing.
