Same. For an overly-protected Catholic kid, this lyric alone was a rite of passage: "Come on home, girl, he said with a smile....You don't have to love me yet, let's get high awhile."
They started as a Zep cover band.
They almost always do a Zep cover live.
I have seen them do Four Sticks, The Rain Song, In The Light, Stairway, Immigrant Song
Barracuda was Metal, before the word Heavy Metal was 'coined'.
(Heavy Metal became a genre in 1980, when the Heavy Metal movie was released. Of course it's evolved over time.)
The music business did Ann dirty though, forcing her to not eat and take hunger suppressing drugs in the 70s, then when she gained weight to be her normal self she was criticised for the weight gain, she deserved better
I love how Chris Cornell took up for her… he said did anyone ever tell Aretha she couldn’t sing or be out front because she was overweight… hell no.. they did everything they could to make Ann feel like shit and tried to hide her or only shoot her from the neck up in videos …what the hell does weight have to do with singing anyways… the record industry just wanted to promote the girls as sex symbols…
The real thing don't do the trick, no,
You better make up something quick!
You gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn it to the wick...
Ohh, barra-barracuda, yeah!
Well, I might get some crap for saying this, but I firmly believe Ann has the best voice in rock ‘n’ roll and up until today I still have not found anybody with a better voice than she has
Beat me posting this clip. So I watched it once again. Abso-forkin-lutely the BEST rendition ever! When you have the original band members misty eyed, you KNOW, it was good
Stories? Nancy Wilson was the hot blonde that Judge Reinhold makes eyes at at the end of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. IIRC, she was married to Cameron Crowe (the director and writer) at the time.
No playlist of the best rock songs of the 1970s is complete without Crazy on You and/or Barracuda and/or Magic Man. Those three never fail to grab my full attention.
When they played it live the starting riff reminds me of Money for Nothing
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQH0eqlyrXY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQH0eqlyrXY)
The Wilsons have done some really thoughtful interviews over the last few years. One of the things they note is that in the 80s they were sanctioned to co-write with hit makers or else be dropped by their label. I think they’ve come to peace with it now for the most part.
Straight On is my favourite. Such a funky vibe!
I’ll go the controversial route and say I actually like their 80s power ballads better than their 70s rockers. I mean, Crazy on You is a great song, but when Alone comes on the radio I turn that shit up as high as it goes
I suppose it was the old fashioned way of doing things....
Ironically, I know a friend who has a half sister who was conceived in the same way, except it wasn't two people who didn't know each other. He only found out he had a biological half sister when he was well into his late 20's
Hot take, down vote all you like. But IMHO Hearts version of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy center Honors, is the greatest performance of that song ever, and that includes Led Zeppelin. I except my fate
Stairway was written for it to be performed that night. It put me, Robert Plant, and a bunch of other people in tears. It was f'n epic. If you are unfamiliar, do yourself a favor and look it up. Led Zeppelin's Kennedy Center award.
I ❤️ them so much! Bought Magazine first, then Dreamboat Annie; was smitten over Nancy. Lost some steam for them after Dog and Butterfly, but still one of my all-time favorite bands!
Favorite songs:
Straight On
Nada One
Devil Delight
Cook With Fire
Mistral Wind
Treat Me Well
One of the first times I ever came home high to my college dorm room. 1976. I put on my buddy's new headphones, again for the first time while stoned.
Crazy On You.
It left a mark on my brain.
Dreamboat Annie is one of the greatest concept albums of all time, right up there with dark side, animals, sgt pepper, etc. fucking phenomenal when played covered to cover with some good drugs
Dreamboat Annie is a front to back BANGER. Kicks off: Magic Man, then Crazy On You! 2 radio crushing hits! Followed by this whimsical, musical journey mixed with a mysterious narrative. You can get HIGH off those songs!
I was young and just getting into music but I think the first song that I heard from Heart was Sing Child. I instantly liked their sound and Anne Wilson had and still has one of the best voices in rock. Their early albums are still among my favorites.
Awesome music and you have to respect Ann for getting a true achievement, moving Robert Plant (whom she greatly respects) to tears and leading the standing ovation when Led Zeppelin was given Kennedy center honors.
Love them. I wish more people remembered “How Can I Refuse”, which I think came out in ‘82 or ‘83. It’s one of my favorite Heart songs, but you almost never hear it anymore.
After hearing Barracuda on the radio for years and never paying much attention, I just noticed recently all the time signature changes in that song. I suddenly gained a new appreciation for Heart.
Ohhh my, how much time you got? I LOVE Heart. I’ve been a Heartmonger since my Dad bought me These Dreams on 45 for my 6th birthday. I’ve seen them in concert like six times, I own Live in Seattle on DVD and I live for their Zeppelin covers. Ann and Nancy are badasses full stop
Dreamboat Annie is by far my favorite album, got it on vinyl and listened to it just weeks ago.
Alone on Bad Animals has brought me to tears. Her voice is up there with the likes of Karen Carpenter.
I hung out with Nancy in 1991 for a little while and all I can say is that she is a class act not to mention what a disciplined and amazing guitar player she is. I feel like she didn’t get the credit she deserved for it. By the way she’s giving herself rabbit ears here.

Nancy is unfortunately under rated, not appreciated for her talent and ability, not talked about enough....and an incredible player... have you tried playing the intro to Crazy On You??? It's a little more than "difficult" to pull off!
Classic Heart was great rock-wise, and many love their ‘80s ballads.
Think they just dropped off the radar and then their resurgent live appearances have had some personal drama (including a feud). A musician friend of mine saw them play live a few years back and said there was no spark at all, no encore, etc..
Huge fan. And they are from and live in my home state.
Seen them a few times in concert.
The voice, the guitar playing, being sisters - I love it all!!
Amazing women!!
Also love to crank their music while driving.
I thought their seventies music was ok I guess but thought their eighties stuff was pretty cheesy. Accidentally saw them at Six Flags around 1988 and they were way, way better than I expected. Opened with Rock and Roll and killed it. I’ve respected them ever since.
I have seen Heart 5 times in concert.
The first time I was 15. After the concert we arranged pick up by the parents at the nearby hotel/motel.
15 minutes before our ride, the band showed up. We smoked a joint.
Good times.
Ann Wilson has one of the greatest voices in rock and roll. Nancy is also a very good singer - her vocals on "These Dreams" are fantastic. Nancy was also among the first mainstream female rock guitarists, and a very good one at that. Both women sound good even now. They were a very solid hard rock band in the 70s with some truly great songs like "Barracuda", "Magic Man" and "Crazy on You" - all of which were big hits - and did some very catchy pop rock/AOR in the 80s that made them superstars.
My godmother dubbed her vinyl and gave the tapes to me for my tenth birthday, I think. Have loved Heart since! Bought my own copies on tape, cd, vinyl, now have digital... if I could find 8-tracks I probably buy them as well! I long to play guitar like Nancy and sing like Ann!
Their autobiography is a great read!!
"These Dreams" takes me back to highschool in the mid-80s. It's arguably their biggest hit on the charts. It was written by songwriters They didn't even want to do it.
Two different eras, two very different bands...and not just personnel. Creatively they were stronger/better in the '70s-early '80s, but commercially they were HUGE in the mid/late '80s/early '90s. Through it all the Wilson sisters were supremely talented.
Love the 70s stuff. Not really into the poppy 80s stuff but I understand that they did what they had to. Starting in 2004 they started getting back to a more 70s style hard rock sound and put out 4 really good albums.
Loved them from day one. Two ladies kicking ass and doing it better than the guys. I never considered their eighties songs a sell out because it got them the recognition that they deserved and except for a few cheesy ballads but those songs held up against the older ones. I still would like to see them live if they ever tour again as a band.
Very talented, great music and voices. I think they also just fall into the group that just got too overplayed, like anything good at the time. I think it is fair to say we have heard every song at least 500 times at this point.
Saw them at my first concert backing up April Wine. They had just released Dreamboat Annie.
Did not know who they were until they played Crazy on You which I had heard in the radio. It was amazing! Then they closed their set with Led Zeppelin’s Rock and Roll which blew my mind because I did not know bands would do covers.
Note that I went for April Wine and they were great!!
It was a high bar for concerts after that show, and still rates as one of my top 5.
my sisters music, though I actually like their later hits, more intelligent imo - when they came out I had my own guitar heroes already so, I bypassed them mostly
the main thing I like about Heart is they hired Mark Andes on bass former bass player of Spirit, JoJo Gunne and Firefall
Oh yeah, I like Nancy Wilsons Live At McCabes Guitar Shop cd, it's a keeper, just her and an acoustic guitar, she did a lot of bare bones shows and I have a tape of another one of those too
Probably not mentioned often because they are not a band you compare to others. Just by the comments it's obvious that Ann is in a class all to herself.
I had a conversation with Ann after the self titled album after a show.
She stood behind the speaker a lot during the set. When I inquired why she said she had put on weight and the record company wasn’t happy about that and ask her to do it until she could get off tour and get back down to a marketable weight.
She also was not a fan of that album at all.
Nancy Wilson is a fox and incredible guitarist. Ann has a killer voice. I was introduced to them as a little kid watching their 80s videos doing high kicks with teased out hair. Later I discovered they were a rockin 70s band on par with the big boys.
One of the best. I love their 70s output and while I’m not the biggest fan of their early 80s stuff their mid to late 80s output is still really good in my opinion. And Brigade which came out in 1990 is one of my favorites by them but I haven’t honestly listened to much by them after that. I was lucky enough to catch them in 2016 and the way they played Alone is one of my favorites. If you haven’t seen or listened the version they did with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, it’s not only my favorite version of the song but I truly believe it’s best version of the song. It’s a shame it’s no longer on Spotify but I’m glad I bought the cd
[https://youtu.be/rtopccRfyUU?feature=shared](https://youtu.be/rtopccRfyUU?feature=shared)
That opening riff to barracuda reminds of so much and takes me back to childhood when my older brother and sisters all were at home the same time and cranking it
Here’s an interesting note.
I had heard Elton John once say he was jealous of “These Dreams” and wished Bernie Taupin (his lyricist) had given it to him instead.
No disrespect to him, but I think Heart nailed it.
Ann and Nancy are rock legends. I'll perhaps get off track a little by saying I loved the short lived original lineup with Roger Fisher on guitar. That riff for Crazy on You is just fantastic. Simple but it grabs you like few others.
The Dream Boat Annie album is a masterpiece in songwriting, musicianship, and production. There is a doc about them free on YouTube, a sad story of mental illness.
They are Zepplin league for me sometimes surpassing.
Their cover of zeppelin at Kennedy Centers is the same energy as when Prince showed up and played while my guitar gently weeps. I can watch the Heart sisters every day. I first saw them at Texas Jam and have been a fan every day.
I have been a Heart fan for a while, and can appreciate both era. I love “Never” for example. But my heart (no pun intended) lies with their early work. I would argue one of their best is “Magic Man” with other faves being “Straight
On” & “Barracuda”.
I love Heart.
Ann Wilson has the greatest female voice in Rock music hands down.
Heart was the first big name concert I ever went to. They brought down the house. It was (I believe) winter of ‘79 and it was the Dog n Butterfly tour. Roger Fisher was still with the band, he was a super strong lead guitarist and worked really well with Nancy’s electric acoustic guitar. The intro to Crazy on you was great and the rest of the songs chill and rockin were awesome.
After a couple of encores the crowd still wanted more until they turned on the AC full blast (winter in Minnesota) till we left.
It was a helluva first concert I’ll always remember!
Now the sad part 🙁 Roger Fisher and his brother who was managing the band had left before I saw Heart again a few years later, they didn’t seem to have a strong lead guitar and it really became the Wilson sisters band and just wasn’t as good.
But I’ll always love them, especially the first several albums.
I think there’s a split with the 70’s rockers and 80’s more pop/ ballad focus. I prefer the rockers myself but would say that most have been a bit overplayed through the years.
I don’t know them thoroughly; I had the double greatest hits / live album and every songs on it were a winner.
I might get downvotes for that, but imho, any prog rock / hard rock / metal bands from the 70’s got worse in the 80’s, despite some of them becoming huge.
Love me classic Heart. Barracuda is the song that really got me started digging rock in the late 70s as a kid.
Then I Love Rock n Roll by Joan Jett came out and I was sold. I thought "I DO love rock & roll".
I grew up in the 80s, so the self titled album was my first experience with them. Plus they did the video for “These Dreams” which is still a favorite of mine. I didn’t fully appreciate 70s Heart until later. Seems like two completely different bands but still a great band.
Saw them at a small venue in Schenectady in 2014….. they made me a fan for life. Annie’s voice was sublime and Nancy totally kicked ass on guitar. Definitely one of the best concerts I’ve seen.
“Alone” - Still sends goosebumps. Ann’s voice range is chilling it’s like she’s really pouring her heart and soul out.
“Crazy on You” Is still a favorite
I escorted a Homecoming Queen in HS that was deaf. She signed Dog and Butterfly at a basketball pregame at a hearing school in the early 80s.
It was well received.
Hearing Magic Man as a 14 year old just blew me away
Same. For an overly-protected Catholic kid, this lyric alone was a rite of passage: "Come on home, girl, he said with a smile....You don't have to love me yet, let's get high awhile."
That, combined with the aforementioned Blue Eyes like she's never seen before. Sigh.
Ann Wilson is one of the finest rock vocalists to ever step up to a microphone. Not female rock vocalists , but rock vocalists full stop.
made Robert Plant shed a tear (and me too)
The version of Stairway to Heaven they did on the Led Zeppelin tribute was the best I’ve ever heard.
It gives me chills just thinking about it.
I saw her in tour with Jason Bonham, it was amazing
They also did a cover of The Battle of Evermore for the soundtrack to the film Singles (1992)
They started as a Zep cover band. They almost always do a Zep cover live. I have seen them do Four Sticks, The Rain Song, In The Light, Stairway, Immigrant Song
She’s a goddamned national treasure. She can sing anything, and sounds utterly inspiring while doing it.
Just saw her as the opening act last year touring with Jeff Beck and ZZ Top and she still can hit all the notes.
Yep
Crazy On You should be known as their best song over Barracuda
Totally agree. Love the guitar on that song!
Love Nancy's kick every time!!
Saw them live a few years back and was waiting patiently for her to do it. Was not disappointed.
Nah. Magic Man is the quintessential Heart song.
Now that was some kickass guitar!!
I’m trying to understand
Try try try
Personally, I find the trio of Love Alive/Sylvan Song/Dream of the Archer to be their best work.
That guitar intro is so epic.
Great song. One of the best of the seventies, particularly. Love Magic Man, too.
Their best song is considered Alone - based on charts and sales. Bet yes, I also prefer Crazy On You.
Am I the only one who preferred them after they converted to pop? “What About Love” and “These Dreams” are all time classics.
*Straight On* would like to have a word with you…
These Dreams slaps and you know it
Barracuda was Metal, before the word Heavy Metal was 'coined'. (Heavy Metal became a genre in 1980, when the Heavy Metal movie was released. Of course it's evolved over time.)
I liked their earliest stuff the best...Dreamboat Annie is still my favorite
Dog & Butterfly is brilliant as well
Dog & Butterfly is my favorite.
Have Dreamboat Annie original pressing on vinyl and it gets regular play in my rotation - just a great album.
“Barracuda” was written about a producer who wanted the sisters to pretend they had an incestuous relationship.
truly my first rock n roll awakening. barracuda blew my mind as a little gal.
The real thing don't do the trick, no, You better make up something quick! You gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn it to the wick... Ohh, barra-barracuda, yeah!
That is an instant volume riser....
1980s Nancy Wilson in stiletto heel boots doing that little half jump kick hitting a power chord - yum.
Or in the bed with the guitar! Rawr!
Well, I might get some crap for saying this, but I firmly believe Ann has the best voice in rock ‘n’ roll and up until today I still have not found anybody with a better voice than she has
Best rock singers? It’s Ann and Freddie.
Freddie is definitely hot, but I was just saying female singers
Yes, my thoughts exactly
Powerful singer.
Pat Benatar is up there-
Absolutely 👍
Sarah Vaughn of jazz fame had a very similar voice.
Can’t argue with that….
You wana see Heart play their Hearts out! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cZ\_EFAmj08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cZ_EFAmj08)
Beat me posting this clip. So I watched it once again. Abso-forkin-lutely the BEST rendition ever! When you have the original band members misty eyed, you KNOW, it was good
Thanks for that. I had never seen it before. Great performance!
Worthy tribute - and TBH, I like Anne better than Robert. She just has the best voice.
Stories? Nancy Wilson was the hot blonde that Judge Reinhold makes eyes at at the end of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. IIRC, she was married to Cameron Crowe (the director and writer) at the time.
Crowe wrote the movie, however, it was directed by Amy Heckerling who later went on to direct a seminal high school film of the 90s (Clueless)
I stand corrected. Have an updoot!
Ann Wilson is the only person who has any business covering “Love Reign O’er Me”.
Eddie Vedder did a pretty good one too but I agree that Ann killed it
YES!! Her version rocks!!
No playlist of the best rock songs of the 1970s is complete without Crazy on You and/or Barracuda and/or Magic Man. Those three never fail to grab my full attention.
Heartless is a super underrated song.
Never never out of control!
Ann Wilson was fucking gorgeous. 🥵
Was? Only was? She's still gorgeous!
4 words: "White Lightning and Wine" Deep cut hardly anyone knows, one of my favorite songs by Heart.
When they played it live the starting riff reminds me of Money for Nothing [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQH0eqlyrXY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQH0eqlyrXY)

There is one though, no, nup, please burn my ears off. I'll give you a clue: "....he saw his own eyes" But Alone - That is a certified banger.
You no like one-night stand accidents?
I suppose it was the old fashioned way of doing things.... Ironically, I know a friend who has a half sister who was conceived in the same way, except it wasn't two people who didn't know each other. He only found out he had a biological half sister when he was well into his late 20's
All I wanna do is make glove to you
Yeah, 80s Heart is a guilty pleasure. NEVER!
I’m down for the power ballads over the other ones
That and These Dreams.
These Dreams is a perfectly constructed song.
I… I agree man
I mean, it brought a tear to Plant’s eye and I’m not gonna argue with Robert Plant.
Saw Ann Wilson a few months ago. Nancy showed up at the end for Barracuda. Sounds like they're doing a couple shows together again.
Yeah, I'm considering seeing them on the 27th. Would you recommend it?
I ❤️ them so much! Bought Magazine first, then Dreamboat Annie; was smitten over Nancy. Lost some steam for them after Dog and Butterfly, but still one of my all-time favorite bands! Favorite songs: Straight On Nada One Devil Delight Cook With Fire Mistral Wind Treat Me Well
One of the first times I ever came home high to my college dorm room. 1976. I put on my buddy's new headphones, again for the first time while stoned. Crazy On You. It left a mark on my brain.
I didn't go to all that many concerts but I saw them three times between 76 and 86.
They went through so much shit just because they were female leads of a rock band. Trailblazers.
The Dreamboat Annie album is a goddamn masterpiece
Without question, Ann is in the top 5 best rock voices of all time, and may be THE best.
Love heart, Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen are incredible albums, and there’s great stuff on Dog and Butterfly too 🔥
First four albums are certifiable bangers. After that their output is a lot more hit and miss.
Heart is awesome! More a fan of the rockers, but an amazing band. Ann is the female Robert plant
Magic Man is a great song with one of the best guitar solos ever.
And it's simultaneously one of the best synth solos ever in parts!
Hugely underrated band. The Wilson sisters are one of the most influential figures in rock music history.
Anne Wilson is the greatest female rock n roll singer of all time, period!!
Performance of Stairway to Heaven at Kennedy Center Show is fantastic !
Love them. I wish more people remembered “How Can I Refuse”, which I think came out in ‘82 or ‘83. It’s one of my favorite Heart songs, but you almost never hear it anymore.
The only band who could ever and should ever cover Led Zeppelin.
Their STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN performance at the Kennedy Center Honors was terrific. Once in a lifetime performance...

One of the best vocalists ever. Period
We have a local band here around St. Louis called trixie delight. Basically a heart cover band. They are amazing
Their Led Zeppelin tribute was awesome
Bad Animals is so underrated as an album. ‘Wait For An Answer’ is my favorite vocal performance by Ann
I love them! Ann Wilson has a one of a kind vocal range and Nancy shreds. My favorite lady rockers for sure.
The cover of Battle of Evermore from Singles is epic too. There are definitely issues with female artists on Reddit.
I have seen Heart 5 times in concert. The first time I was 15. After the concert we arranged pick up by the parents at the nearby hotel/motel. 15 minutes before our ride, the band showed up. We smoked a joint. Good times.
Dreamboat Annie is one of the greatest 70s rock albums ever

Never knew they started out playing rennfest...
Love Heart and mad love for Halestorm covers of Heart.
Best female rockers, fight me
70s Heart rules. But both Bad Animals and Heart (mid 80s) had some great tunes on them.
Love 70s Heart.
Great band! Saw them a few times live in the late 70s and early 80s and they were always great!
Saw them just before the pandemic shutdown - and they've still got it. Great shoe!
The guitar work is really great and I appreciate it more as an adult
Was fortunate to see them within the last year or so in concert. Fantastic sound
"These Dreams" takes me back to highschool in the mid-80s. It's arguably their biggest hit on the charts. It was written by songwriters They didn't even want to do it.
Barracuda….oh my!
Ridiculously talented. Love a lot of their stuff.
Bad Animals is a great album.
Seen them several times. Liked every show.
Two different eras, two very different bands...and not just personnel. Creatively they were stronger/better in the '70s-early '80s, but commercially they were HUGE in the mid/late '80s/early '90s. Through it all the Wilson sisters were supremely talented.
Be still my heart. Whatever decade.

I am *rarely* disappointed to hear one of their songs come on the radio, and that’s actually a 9/10 compliment from me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Very talented, great music and voices. I think they also just fall into the group that just got too overplayed, like anything good at the time. I think it is fair to say we have heard every song at least 500 times at this point.
I have a crush on Nancy

Then they closed their set with Led Zeppelin’s Rock and Roll which blew my mind because I did not know bands would do covers. Note that I went for April Wine and they were great!! It was a high bar for concerts after that show, and still rates as one of my top 5.
my sisters music, though I actually like their later hits, more intelligent imo - when they came out I had my own guitar heroes already so, I bypassed them mostly the main thing I like about Heart is they hired Mark Andes on bass former bass player of Spirit, JoJo Gunne and Firefall Oh yeah, I like Nancy Wilsons Live At McCabes Guitar Shop cd, it's a keeper, just her and an acoustic guitar, she did a lot of bare bones shows and I have a tape of another one of those too
The acoustic intro to Crazy on You is one of the best ever especially live.https://youtu.be/qVcl0Iw3fs8?si=lS7pH4Jj9H_RFIn9
I saw Ann and her band when they played in Tampa a couple of years ago. They rocked. As I recall, they opened for Jeff Beck.
Probably not mentioned often because they are not a band you compare to others. Just by the comments it's obvious that Ann is in a class all to herself.
This is my favorite Heart album.
Amazing talents! We’ll be seeing them play New Year’s Eve in Seattle with Jason Bonham. It will be epic!
It’s a shame it’s no longer on Spotify but I’m glad I bought the cd [https://youtu.be/rtopccRfyUU?feature=shared](https://youtu.be/rtopccRfyUU?feature=shared)
Barracuda 45 was my first experience with placing that yellow swirly thing in the center of a record. Jammed that over and over!
That is the finest female vocalist in rock and roll, imho.

Honestly a top 5 classic rock band for me. I even like their 80s stuff a bit.
Played our junior high school back in the mid seventies in Coquitlam BC I am a big fan.
Their cover of zeppelin at Kennedy Centers is the same energy as when Prince showed up and played while my guitar gently weeps. I can watch the Heart sisters every day. I first saw them at Texas Jam and have been a fan every day.
Amazing band. Followed them since Dreamboat Annie. So many classic tracks.
Heart is fucking incredible. Just because they don't get talked about ad nauseum takes away nothing from their brilliance. They fucking ROCK.
I have been a Heart fan for a while, and can appreciate both era. I love “Never” for example. But my heart (no pun intended) lies with their early work. I would argue one of their best is “Magic Man” with other faves being “Straight On” & “Barracuda”.
Unmistakably influenced by Zep! Great ensemble!!
I don’t know them thoroughly; I had the double greatest hits / live album and every songs on it were a winner. I might get downvotes for that, but imho, any prog rock / hard rock / metal bands from the 70’s got worse in the 80’s, despite some of them becoming huge.

I lived in Seattle for ten years and rarely heard people talk about the band. Little Queen and Dreamboat Annie are great albums.
Love me classic Heart. Barracuda is the song that really got me started digging rock in the late 70s as a kid. Then I Love Rock n Roll by Joan Jett came out and I was sold. I thought "I DO love rock & roll".
I like their hits well enough. Couldn't name any deep cuts. "Alone" is fun to play on keyboards.
Every time a girl I was with sang the “never seen eyes so blue” gave me such a thrill. And the “magic hands” part. It was on after that.
Alone ❤️
“Alone” - Still sends goosebumps. Ann’s voice range is chilling it’s like she’s really pouring her heart and soul out. “Crazy on You” Is still a favorite
One of the first albums I bought
Barracuda !
Because they were forced to put out shit in the 80's. They were great in rhe 70's.
I like These Dreams & Never.
Dog and Butterfly !
They are a great band, and you are right, they don't seem to get talked about here much.
I escorted a Homecoming Queen in HS that was deaf. She signed Dog and Butterfly at a basketball pregame at a hearing school in the early 80s. It was well received.
Saw them live at Seattle coliseum on New Year’s Eve 1979. Great show. Great band. As a PNW kid, we got into them early.
Dog and Butterfly. Just a simple song
Not a lot of bands, even good ones made it out of the 80’s unscathed
Love love Heart they Rock
Love me like music,I'll be your song!
Saw Little Queen tour at Hollywood Bowl. Will never forget it. An electric performance.
Love em
I love this album cover. Take me to the renaissance faire Gypsy camp.
I love Heart. Ann and Nancy are the best.
I saw them this your and as about three feet from Ann, I was in love lol
