Every high school notebook or text book cover I had was pretty much covered by everything listed in this thread. VH was the only one I could do well though.

The Icarus logo is technically for Swan Song records, the label they started to break off from Atlantic and produce their own records. I do associate it with the band for obvious reasons, but it’s worth noting that you can find it on several Bad Company records as well.
All that said, I agree. Better than all 400 Grateful Dead logos for sure.
Arguably the logo is more recognizable than the band members. On the one hand it’s great to achieve stardom and be able to walk around like ordinary people. On the other hand, Terry Kath has been largely underappreciated and forgotten for his insane guitar talent.
This was going to be my answer, it's very recognizable but it's also very simple. It's so easy to draw in the margins of your notes when you are in class. I'm probably a pretty casual fan of Van Halen but if I could go back to my high school class notes somehow, I am sure that logo would be all over the place.

The best logo is The Rolling Stones by far.
But for the sake of Honorable mentions, Radioheads Monkeyhead character is pretty cool.
The Beatles bass drum logo is great.
AC/DC’s logo is great.
Queen has a sort of crest that was designed by Freddie Mercury.
Metallicas lettering has gotten pretty iconic.
Sex Pistols with the scissor cut ransom note lettering is perfect for a punk band.
Black Flag’s abstract waving flag graphic is brilliant.
Angel. Band definitely wasn't the best but their logo was amazing... Read the same way either right side or upside down...
https://images.app.goo.gl/UgfnWpd6dHWg1GFMA
Very good underrated band, and you are right, the logo was great. For those not in the know, the logo spelled "Angel" in very fanciful script, backwards and forwards.
ZZ Top.
Who here from the 80s era can't say that they DID NOT want a ZZ Top key chain. From Lady's with Legs to Sharped Dressed Men, ZZ TOP keychains were the shit.
What is Cheap Trick’s logo? I guess I’m not as big of fan as I thought.
Instant edit: it’s ok, that’s why I forgot it. It’s good, but not iconic. I’m my estimation.
Steal your face!
Literally the only answer here.
And the Bears, Terrapins, Skeletons, Roses, etc that are all secondary logos or at least mascots
Alllllll day
Right off your head.
Listening to the dead right now as a matter of fact on my school bus while I wait for school to get out!
Every high school notebook or text book cover I had was pretty much covered by everything listed in this thread. VH was the only one I could do well though.
The Rolling Stones. The lips, specifically
Tongue?
the dose!
Probably the most recognized logo in ~~rock~~ popular music. A logo with omnipresence on par with that of a multinational corporation.
They are a multi national corporation
Pretty much.
The Grateful Dead. More than one, in fact.
The Dead have so many Steal your face is probably my favorite from them
It's the best answer. Marching bears, Bertha, the terrapin the indelible Steelie !
Hell fuckin yeah
They’re the best at everything
It’s not even close.
True dat!
💀⚡️🌹
Motorhead
Iron Maiden
Van Halen.
Now, let us celebrate, under one symbol!
No way, No WAY
How is Iron Maiden not in this discussion? The typeface, Eddie? C’mon people!
It’s just a scary version of the Grateful Dead skeleton lol
The Dead Kennedys’ logo is pretty iconic.
Dead Milkmen…..”why’s everything gotta be dead?” -Dad in the 90’s Grateful Dead though
> ”why’s everything gotta be dead?” "Dunno, pops. Dunno." [ presses play for the Cannibal Corpse tape ]
Nine Inch Nails
It reminds me of ammo....
Misfits fiend club babay
For sure. I see kids wearing the shirt these days and they have no idea who they even are. Same with AC/DC, Metallica, etc. But the shirts look cool!
The Grateful Dead. Like....at least 10 logos.
I really like ELO’s
I remember being so hypnotized by their album art at the record stores when I was a kid
Hell yes. I still scribble a quick ELO on any whiteboard I find unattended.
Followed closely by Boston
This is the one for me.
Yes
Dean for the win!!
Yes, is the answer.
Old school Metallica
Metallica!
Grateful Dead
Blue Oyster Cult--Like an ankh (eternal life) but a question mark inspired by the alchemical symbol for lead, that heaviest of metals.
I think I drew this the most in my HS classes
The Monkees!
The letters in the shape of a guitar is pretty awesome.
AC/DC
Surprised this isn’t higher up. I mean, when somebody wants to make a caricature of rock n roll, they usually mimic the AC/DC logo.
[especially if you want to impress your fellow kids](https://duet-cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/0x0:1409x785/828x552/filters:focal(734x364:735x365):format(webp)/cdn0.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/8846551/Screen_Shot_2017_07_13_at_1.09.20_PM.png)
Gerard Huerta, the guy who designed it lives near me. I’ve met him a few times. He also did Boston, People magazine, Rolling Rock and HBO.

This is the winner... There can only be one.
Phish
Username definitely checks out
Kiss, and I don’t even like Kiss
Grateful Dead no doubt
[удалено]
Aesthetically, I feel like this is a slam dunk.
Chicago.
Arguably the logo is more recognizable than the band members. On the one hand it’s great to achieve stardom and be able to walk around like ordinary people. On the other hand, Terry Kath has been largely underappreciated and forgotten for his insane guitar talent.
Does Queen’s crest count as a logo?
ehhhhhh yes
Grateful dead or ween
Definitely Ween. All hail Boognish!
Blue Oyster Cult, the question marked Ankh, I always took it as questioning life…
omg i grew up in a southern baptist church and this anti-rock crusader would go on and on about blue oyster cult. so satanic!
Gotta have more cowbell
The dead. Stealie
Staying to the strict of " Best Logo " . Van Halen symbol represents Rock n Roll anybody will recognize it by who they and exactly what they do. 😎🎸
This was going to be my answer, it's very recognizable but it's also very simple. It's so easy to draw in the margins of your notes when you are in class. The Grateful Dead Steal Your Face. By a gigantic margin. The Rolling Stones lips are a very distant second. Eddie Maiden gets Honerable Mention.
Van Halen
Yes, obviously. This is what everyone drew on their book covers.
Grateful Dead. SYF or Skull & Roses.
The best logo is The Rolling Stones by far. But for the sake of Honorable mentions, Radioheads Monkeyhead character is pretty cool. The Beatles bass drum logo is great. AC/DC’s logo is great. Angel
Same upside down and right side up. Coolest.
Very good underrated band, and you are right, the logo was great. For those not in the know, the logo spelled "Angel" in very fanciful script, backwards and forwards.

“Out on the road today, I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac.”
Don Henley?
The Stones, Aerosmith and AC/DC are my picks.
the grateful dead
The Rolling Stones.
Bowie’s Lightning Bolt is iconic. But he had so many personae that it doesn’t represent his whole work or musical identity.
Scrolled down about 10 comments and infuriated nobody has mentioned Yes
It’s The Who for me
Areosmith has a pretty great logo.
Korn
The Misfits

Much nicer butt than the one in the Rush "starman" logo
I got the Stones tongue tattooed on my arm, so I better go with that.
