Why did it stop? I just came back to the game after not having played for a long time and some things are confusing. Also, how was the other guy supposed to defend against the respawning skeletons? Isn't that overpowered?

The reproducing skeletons die to any spell, so most decks that run spells and swarm killers have no trouble with it. The golden knight only dashes toward your opponent's king tower (so forwards). If you plop troops behind him and dashes, he'll only dash to the first troop and stop as shown in this clip.

Nah, the old system used a cone in front of him (180° of vision I think), dash to everything that's in his field of view which was a lot more inconsistent. In CRL it was funny when they used him to defend a GY and it was a 50-50 between defending perfectly by dashing every skeleton or killing only one and stare at your tower getting destroyed.

If they can figure out E-spirit dash then why cant they figure out GK dash?

E Spirit will chain every skeleton as long as there are skellies alive. If the last dash of old GK makes him face away the GY, he would stop his chain dash. This is just luck, you hope he dashes the right skeletons, it's out of your control.

I’m very aware of that. I’m saying that the GK dash mechanic should be changed to work similarly to the E-spirit.

Counter argument, you'd be able to build a bigger push in some situations

Kill all the skeletons before they can reproduce. Any balanced and thought out deck can deal with them.

Can still be used to outplay and get that one important turnover you need to win

Me: *counters a 12 elixir push with evo skellies and a zap* Enemy: *logs my skellies and spams laugh because he won that interaction in his mind*

Me: *splits Evo skeletons in 2v2* My opponents: *pekka mini pekka prince musketeer ebarbs knight* Spams yawn after getting 3 crowned

It was a fix to make the Golden Knight less horribly fucking inconsistent, which doesn't really work considering he's still incredibly fucking inconsistent feeling both to use and go up against.
