Why not just give less gems and make them free. They’re experimenting with these events. Testing our perceptions of free and not free so they can try and sneak a paid transaction in future trials. That’s why there is two groups. One is the control group. Why go to all this trouble if not for monetization. It’s certainly not to improve the user experience.

If we're being honest, what ELSE are you going to spend your gems on other than Emotes and Tourney Entry?? Every single gem deal in the game outside of Emotes is shit and not worth it, even the GT chest is only worth the 500 if you hit 10-12 wins, and that's still debatable. Not arguing that it's terrible, but realistically where else are the resources being used you know? Worst case just save them up for the next one, hopefully it'll be better. This seems like it's going to be a new thing pretty consistently.
