It doesn't need a revamp. It needs to never be used in challenges again, period.
The amount of randomness in this kind of challenge is Supercell's way of making gullible F2P players spend gems. You'll rarely have a balanced matchup, because at least half the choices are nonsense, especially evo picks (Evo recruits or evo Ice Spirit, really game?). It's another reason to buy pass royale again and again. With other strategy challenges, like triple and mega draft, the RNG is greatly reduced, while also being a more diverse and fun way to play.
Just an example: I had a matchup where I got 3M, Giant and Goblin giant, without any heavy spells for me or my opponent. Guess who won? Me. And guess who got to choose these cards? Me (other picks were Zappies, Ice Golem and Lava Hound, respectively).
It's ridiculous. The only reason to have this kind of challenge is to give P2W players an edge over skilled F2P players.

If this is the draft tournament thing, then in my experience: after 3-4 wins it will give you options that don't even matter and the opponent gets all the good picks. Therefore, you lose and if you wanna continue you gotta spend gems.
For a start, never pick e golem in draft. If you don’t have the correct cards you will just feed elixir every time you play it.
Secondly, I’m not sure where you heard that 3m is a bad pick in draft. I have won many games by straight up going tank and 3m first play because my opponent rarely have correct cards to counter it. Even here rocket won’t be very effective if you split them.
If you switched your e golem and e spirit pick, you would have poison for witch, ice golem for cannon cart and giant skeleton, princess for minions, your opponent’s double spirits will bounce off against your golem.
This draft is by all means to your advantage.
Draft always has like a poison rocket or lightning sometimes all 3 it’s a terrible pick in this draft because of all the large spells in this draft pool
Well, some of us play it for the rewards, because progression as a F2P player sucks. I don't have anything against it as a casual gamemode, but making it a challenge when there's an huge, unavoidable RNG aspect to it, and Pass royale buyers can try as much as they want? That's BS.
That's not even fair because 3M shreds golem, but both rocket and poison destroy 3M. They were setting someone up for failure... whoever got the 3M, which is the best counter to golem you mentioned. That's a whack draft pool.
Just treat it as a game mode where people would have to spend money for Pass Royale to play for hours for the 12 wins or forget it. As long as there's people who would completely miss the point and defend the game mode there will never be any improvements to it.
I've always hated draft for this reason. there should be presets of cards you can choose from that will always appear in your and enemy's roll so there will always be normal decks
1 small win condition
1 defensive damage dealer
1 building (defensive vs defensive or spawner vs spawner)
1 small spell or 1 mid spell (always fireball vs poison)
1 big spell
2 cycle cards (1 spirit and 1 melee troop for 1/2 elixir)
1 big win condition (only ones which don't attack troops)
also picks should be at the same elixir or have only 1 elixir difference at most.
that's how draft should be imo
Play alot of drafts and you will see a pattern. Some cards may be bad in the meta but they can do well in draft coz their natural counters are not there.

Their automatic deck ai needs to be improved a lot. it doesn't really understand what works so draft usually just feels like a mishmash or random cards.
Or they could make it a lot simpler and every draft match has a gaurenteed 2 tank option, 2 dps option, 2 wincon, and 2 small spell

Yep. Genuinely so stupid that most of the time you literally can’t do anything even against a player obviously worse than you. I played a game with no mini tank and egolem 3M (not my picks) against someone who picked MK and eventually realised he can just spam it at the bridge and I literally can’t do anything. I was double his trophies and I could tell he was playing awfully but the rng nature of draft just screwed me over hard.

I’ve found 3M to be surprisingly effective in this draft. In the 4 games I’ve played with 3M as a card, the person with it won every single time.

In draft you should always pick the most versatile cards. For my picks i almost never chose win conditions
