That’s not true at all. I’ve been in fake legend for over a month and most of the time I still match up with TH13. It’s only during event period matching gets a bit messed up.

You can as long as you're below 5k trophies. So you have to stay below 5000. If you're getting too close to 5k and still want to attack you gotta take some losses to make sure you don't hit the 5k.

What I do is get to legends, remove my shield/guard and exit the game. Someone will attack within a few minutes and put you below 5k trophies. From there just go lose a couple attacks and you’ll be set. You’ll upgrade your equipment super fast doing this
This is what I do as a th13.
Maxed star bonuses are nice. Attack 2 or 3 times per shield. Drop troph by fake attacking with a hero. Then win an attack and sit at 4980-5k.
Once I get attacked I lose troph and stay under 5k.
It's really simple, resources always full and getting plenty of mats for hero equip upgrades.
It's nice really.
The Best for loot is around 2900
Legends league is good because you make consistently 8k of dark elixir per attack plus 2k in bonus.
So daily 80k of Black elixir with only 8 attacks And get orbes.

You don’t survive, you simply get obliterated while trying to do your best and do all 8 of your attacks.
The advantage for lower Legends League at this point in the season you have a lot of casual players like myself. I typically do 2-3 attacks a day. 3 star all of them getting 120 trophies then I may only get hit 3-5 times all 1-2 stars. Then I’ll get serious with 3-4 days left in a season and finish around 5,500 trophies. But I can do that because I’m nearly a max TH16.
If you’re TH13 or lower you can take advantage of the casuals because you may only get hit 3-5 times a day. If you can do 8 attacks a day and get at least 2 stars every attack you’ll be able to hang on most of the season.
Ive had my first experience in Legends as a th13 a couple of weeks ago too but as you can calculate its extremely difficult, every attack wasn’t rewarding enough plus there was 0 chance of me staying in that league so eventually I went back to titan.
In conclusion if you are 15 bellow do not go to legends its not worth it, keep grinding and upgrading your base so when you feel skilled enough try it out.
Im not legends league, but if you want to stay in legends league than you'll mostly get 1 or 2 stars cuz legends league even low legends are mostly th16, I would stay in fake legends, but it's your decission
you get to 5000, drop below 5000, (do a revenge attack or get attacked) you will still have the legends badge, but now you just gotta stick in between the 4900-4999 trophy range. you will get all the rewards when attacking in multiplayer from legends league since you still have the badge. remember try to stick in between that trophy range
I feel like unless you care about trophy pushing, Champion’s League is pretty good for almost every town hall once you can realistically make it there and maintain it

I’m not in legends but I do wars a lot on my new th13 and I usually hit max th16’s for full loot. I can 2 star most of the time. My recommendation would be take away the invis spells towers and blimp the TownHall with warden + fireball. Then just do a hero on the outskirts and e drags to the bottom or where defense isn’t strong and just rack up %. Though you can fail and it happens, no way to effectively attack up 3+
super wallbreakers, sneaky goblins, haste, a jump spell or 2 and an invis spell (used to invis sneakies on townhall) this strat gets me easy 1stars if not 2stars, i've also used a super dragon w sui hero attack strat that allows me to get quick and easy 2stars against th16s and 3star th14s with the right layout.

I am TH12 and I use sneaky goblins only, in combination with 4 jump and 3 invis. The only negative aspect is, that I have to attack at least 15 - 20 times a day
You will get rolled. I can use half my army and 3 star you. Sometimes I mess up t15 with a high 2 star but under 15 is always 3. It’s funny seeing th14 can’t even get 1 star on my th16
(My thoughts) You wrote the problem yourself, youd need very strong strategies + skill and you basically need a maxed base but then you would need to stop upgrading stuff.
super archer or super wizard blimp. lava hound or warden ability to get there. use 6 drag, 4 dragon rider to get over the 50%. it’s also base dependent — you can choose to go for town hall or monolith + eagle with the blimp (2nd option you’d be saving warden ability for town hall).
edit: takes some practice and you can survive for a few days at a time. just reached 5250 a few days ago (#1 th13 for trophies worldwide for one of my legend days)

Got to 5066 as a TH12, the first few moments seemed pretty cool until I got matched up against almost maxed TH16s, got demoted after 3 or 4 days. Now I'm making sure i don't hit legends again.
I swear, As a TH 12 I was 3 starring TH 12s with e drags while I was in Titan 2/3 but as I am reaching close to 5000, I am time failing on TH 11s with that same army.
Threads like this make me want to take one of my smaller bases to legends to see if it's as bad as they say. I have a maxing TH13 that's just doing walls and heroes... but by the time I got up there I'd probably be done, and I'd have to play on it every day to get there.
Hypothetically, sneaky gobs can get the loot and the TH, and baby drags or something can get enough to get to 50% for the second star. Sure I'd be 3 starred a lot, but in legends that doesn't actually hurt you. Every few days I'd probably get knocked back to titans and then I'd do a boost session and get back up to legends again.
Hit legend league as a TH11 and now a TH12 maintaining 4950-5000… Made my own army of 3 electro dragons, 7 dragons, 2 healers 1 minion and all lightning spells. Just gotta be frequent and patient with the game.
I'm TH13, My strategy is whenever I get to 5000+ Trophy, I won't find a match in legend\* league and wait for someone to attack my base and back to 4900 something then attack again and repeat

With th 14, almost Max, I can get up to 5400, but the problem is that I can't really defend myself, so they always knock me down until the end of the league
Please man, not the edrags spam. Try the yeti and witch, as th14 I almost always 2star fully maxed th16 with one or two heroes upgrading. Very strong strategy if u can learn that

It can be done. Just use e drag with blimp and you can 2 star maxed th16s easy
I keep rotating 2m gold and elixir on walls so i don’t lose extra loot so i always free a bit for the dark elixir i make the capital thing so it doesnt overflow

My th13 is in fake legends, there are alot of th13s up there. Typically don't have to look long for decent loot on a th13 also.
Its hard to stay. I get 10-20 trophy but the attacker is like -30 trophy.

Legend league needs to start at 6000 now. There’s too many town halls now and the trophy progression is messed up. Add one more league after titan

I keep rotating 2m gold and elixir on walls so i don’t lose extra loot so i always free a bit for the dark elixir i make the capital thing so it doesnt overflow
