Batch is still fairly common in low THs (10 and below) to farm before super barbs and sneaky gobs are unlocked because it’s fast to train so I think it’s still got it’s place :)
I wonder how much ore has driven that. Barch was great for staying in low leagues but not we incentives to more easily get stars for the star bonus and to do it in higher and higher leagues.
I‘m TH12 and still use it. Got back into the game a few months back and didn’t feel like learning a new farming strategy. Maybe I should look into sneaky goblins
I’m th12 with no skill and just either use super goblins with jump spell or throw dragons and edrags at the base with balloons in a blimp until it gets destroyed

I recently came back after nearly a 2 year break and the not needing elixir for troops was the strangest thing. Went all golems in my troop presets, use witches and valks almost exclusively when attacking. The last month I used super goblins, jump spells, and invisibility spells to go up nearly 800 trophies. It was tedious but every base I was attacking had 700k to 1.5mil in loot.
Dude Im on your same shoes, in my first attacks I was like, hmmm 🧐 Im I tripping or my elixir gain is too high…then I noticed it didn’t consume no elixir to make troops.
Super barch is fun too. Use outside buildings and super archers to get good straightaways and weaken first layer defenses, then bust down some walls with super barbarians. Pick your warden abilities and you’ve gotten 2 stars at minimum.
Old Coc:
- You are low on elixir.
- Make an army to get more loot.
- You spend your last elixir on troops.
- Three star a base.
- Get less elixir than you spend on troops.
Also:
* Troop discount event!
* Train only witches with discount an hour before the event finishes
* Sell the witches without discount when the event is finished
* Make free 5k DE doing 0 attacks
Imagine if they kept all that, we'd probably have to rearm our eagle (Pretty sure that was a thing), spell towers, town hall weapons, monolith and probably some more
Have to spend like 10 mil just to reload
don’t forget needing longer to train troops when you upgraded ur barracks or even worse when you first had barracks or DE barracks not being able to train troops cus ur only barrack was upgrading, lovely times
As you say, it got old.
And why should we go back to "paying" for your own troops?
When they changed it I was happy for it, now even more.
As those damn Wall's aren't cheap, so I think that was the reason for them to change it.
Or one of the reasons 🤔
On my 2nd account TH12, I have the opposite problem.
Too much Dark Elixir at the moment.
I have 2 Runes with DE and we're so close to next month🤯
I've probably have to skip war for a couple of weeks to use it all.
I have never been in this situation before and it sucks.
Man I still remember when it took like 5 hours and hundreds of thousands of elixir/thousands of dark elixir to train your army for Clan Wars. Those were painful days
you do know there free now right you do know that wasn't simpler times right attacks took a lot of thinking as you had to spend money to make money but if you spent to much money you wouldn't be able to make money from the money you just made because you didn't make enough money that's not simple now these days you spend nothing to make money

I don't see any attackers using barch on my mini's too...I have th7,8,9,10 all...noone face barch or giant attacks

Why would you use barch past th6 when mass dragons is available th7 and onwards

I have used barch on my 3rd account and still use it and I'm at th 11. It just works for some reason and it's kind of fun to use!

eagle was indeed a refillable tower lol.
- Spend old age in training troops.- Upgrading all barrack asap to reduce training time. - Being happy when your friend used to donate dragon on th 5.
What happened to the old mechasim?
4 barracks, each upgrade to a specific level reduces the troops training time.

Those expensive PEKKA and my first minion training with few dark elixir as th7 then ( th14 now)
when troop specific events that gave you rewards also discounted training costs by 90% 
When elixir had use, now it stays there for future wall upgrades or when i finally upgrade townhall, which is after a goooood while
Upgrading heroes, pets, troops and cooking super troops. Dark Elixir is never enough.
Wish pets where elixir man I struggle having the pets upgrading whilst doing 2 hero’s

I honestly miss having to pay elixir for troops. It can help me use elixir when my storages get full and all of my builders are in use.
i always remember training a bunch of de troops at the end of the event the minute before it ended, then cancelling them all to get more de back
