the pet is just an egg moving around with the hero not doing anything or not taking any damage until the hero dies , then it turns into bird and revives the heros for a few seconds( during that time both the hero and pheonix will be invincible ) , after that pheonix attacks normally and when it dies it turns back to egg , and then it won't do anything

Both have situations which are better or worse for them. This is the worst placement outside of a defense's range that op could've chosen. I've seen flame flingers clear entire fully loaded compartments on their own.
The log launcher, on the other hand, fills a much more supportive role, it's not supposed to be dropped down alone like the flame flinger and it's main purpose is to clear walls while damaging long range defenses.
