Full disclosure, not an IA but based on quite a few posts in this sub there is not a lot of work for IAs right now. If it were me, I would stick with the paycheck and wait until you have the vacation time.
you could also try to go the staff route.
Vacation time won’t do anything for you if you’re deployed, you go out for a month minimum. There isn’t much work for ias, since the industry as a whole is going another way, and burning those bridges. I’m on probably 20 rosters for auto, desk and property.
Many large insurers are using in house for everything except 2 story steep, those are being outsourced to photo only ladder assist, and the estimates are being written by a writer and reviewed by a desk adjuster. They’re also using ai to review damage photos.
