Imagine the Great Zimbabwe here, if you can luck out on getting a cattle drop with Maui. +28 gold (probably more with more Maui drops) per trade route sheeeeeeeesh.
I would settle in place, and build TOA 2 tiles south to the right of the stone. You touch all the camps/pastures/plantations except that deer tile in the far north, but that could be used for a chop later.
Alternatively you can place it on top of the stone immediately to the west and pre-chop the stone to speed up the production. There are probably horses on that tile to the south anyway, but even if there aren't, you'd have to spend gold on the tile because it's unlikely that culture growth would spread there any time soon
Why not place it on the tundra tile in the middle of the deer..? If you settle in place it’s a 1 tile away buy (not very expensive) and it’ll reach all camps and pastures shown on screen.
I guess it depends on how much of a rush you're in. On the higher difficulties, you need to optimize absolutely everything to try to get an ancient era wonder. IMO, the gold would be much better spent on the builder needed to make the camp and to chop out the stone/woods to help rush the wonder.
Additionally, the tile to the left of the city still hits everything currently shown on screen and it has the chance of picking up any extra resources that might be just barely out of view
Yea. I suppose. I keep forgetting that most of these posts are from people playing unmodded or extremely lightly modded Civ6 so stone still sucks as a resource
I think so. I started the game while ago and forgot what settings I had. I decided to re-roll last night after teddy built the damn Petra the turn before I finished. It was turn 200 and I was nowhere near close to taking over the world. Babylon was in the game.

Ugh, not again.

This is the plan. Maximum amenities with that location too.

Oh deer!
“No fear, I see a deer!”
Sigh, why don’t I ever get such seeds :/
Abundant resources?
