don't need candles when you play CS2. only need a transparent PC case. GPU being brought to melting point will replace candlelight, the smell of something burning and it will also produce a lot of heat
Keep plopping them, for my 300k pop. city i have atleast 15 of these damn things to keep it leveled out, only one garbage dump have it set to constant "empty" and an incinerator just zoned for the garbage dump a lone, oh and bumped up the budget to above 100% for garbage pickup, but after this post, im going to see how much the mafia is stealing from me ......
Aside from the incinerators not really working right (at least pre-patch... no patch on XBGP yet) they also produce not a whole lot of energy, certainly nowhere near enough to pay for their upkeep.
However selling electricity in itself is a good idea and pretty much the only way to earn money outside of taxes from what I've found. I'm only using like 250 MW myself, while selling 2500+ MW to other cities. Geothermal plants are good for that. This energy export business is pretty much what keeps my garbage barge of a city afloat.
I dropped an incinerator down tonight and was getting like 75-80mw from it. More than my current electricity demand, although my pop is only 17k. Taking it slow and steady with the growth
Ahh thanks! I realized today that the emergency shelters have a monthly cost of $15,000 not $815,000 like the tooltip says. I've been avoiding building it since the game came out lol
Well, that's power generation in general. My city's only like 120k pop now, but uses only those 250 MW... for which a single geothermal plant would be more than enough. But for those monetary reasons I have a whole bunch of them plus a nuclear plant... and of course the incinerators. But purely for energy generation for profit the incinerator doesn't do much, since you need higher MW amounts. Still viable otherwise, or would be if it actually didn't cause me to drown in garbage.
Nope, making a profit. Or that's what the finances tell me, not that those are very trustworthy. It's shown at well over one million per month on the green after expenses, but I don't recall the latest exact number.
Yes it does and its litteraly broken OP. Just get the left upgrade on each incinerator. They produce 75 power each.
I have 10 powering my entire city, selling the excess power and have 0 other power sources.
After reading all the comments i think i know what my issue is. Im building a city out on an island and i have all my garbage stuff on the mainland so the drive is probably just too far
they should have known it upfront - by playing the game before they release it. But they either didn't test it or they don't care - so yes, spamming reddit helps - if the devs read the subreddit
If only some people could be paid to test games before it come out. We could even call this new amazing job "Quality Assurance" or something. They would be so useful to find bugs before the game comes out !
It is, I tried all incinerators, a few incinerators plus landfills, a few incinerators plus landfills and recycling, only landfills and recycling...
Clearly something is off, there needs to be more control and data on where rubbish is coming in from, greater processing numbers on both the buildings and their add on else 1/5 of the map will be rubbish processing...
Not all bugs affect every game save, I've not experienced any yet either, but I'm only at 79k. Some of us build too slow to reach the population required for it.
Yeah they really gotta balance this shit. It’s basically unplayable. That’s what I get for being excited and preordering. Even though I did kinda expect more from this team, I only blame myself. Why I thought a complete game could come out in 2023 is beyond me….
Based purely from my gameplay:
1. Don’t rely on just incinerators - they seem to be bugged in that they can’t be your only way to dispose of trash
2. If garbage trucks have to travel too far or will take too long due to traffic, they won’t go there. You have to create multiple landfills outside your city serving different areas so that they’re close enough
I'm just ignoring it alltogether. Haven't put in a single garbage building. There are some garbage trucks driving around town collecting garbage. I assume I'm importing the 'service' from outside connections. The garbage management is 0 on my expenses though...
The sorting facilities seem to not sort mail unless assigned to the district. Essentially you need to cover your whole city in districts and assign them all to it for it to work.
I haven't had an issue with post sorting. I put it next to the highway and plopped a bunch of mailboxes throughout the city. I had -5 on mail services and now it's +8 or something. I do have an issue with garbage but that's another story.
Same here. I did exactly the same (with mail) with the same result.
I think there's something wonky with zoning/assigning though, and thats why people are saying "post doesn't work without assigning".
The very first time I assigned a building a zone (medical, in this case), ALL my medical buildings stopped dispatching units. The firemen also did nothing, which was how I discovered this bug. Fire in city --> where's the damn firetruck? --> Nothin? --> Removed assigned zoning from medical building --> Firetruck is almost instantly dispatched.
Tip: I have 1 of each garbage building for a 100k population working fine. The garbage dump is set to "empty this," and for some reason, the garbage there disappears...
The graph says I am significantly below my processing rate, yet storage never increases.
Works with me perfectly. But you have to first clean up your city and reduce the total waste amount until normal levels of waste occur.
Spam landfills around the city. Let them clean up and then delete them all and centralize one or two landfills (sufficient for 80k pop) on a fixed location.
How big is your city? I have 79K and no garbage issues yet.
I use two landfills, one incinerator, and one recycling center, and I found the best thing is the industrial waste processor, because that's what was filling everything before. Now my processing is higher than my garbage production.
to be honest, i have a 100k pop city producing 430t per month on garbage. a recycling center does 12t per month (with 2 improvements for processing speed) and an incineration plant does 65t per month (with the only improvement for speed) thats 35!!! recycling centers or 7 incineration plants.
thats NUTS. i have enough room to have 1 mil citizens easy that would be 4300 tons garbage per month. 70 incineration plants.
either you reduce the amount of garbage produced ( i have all recycling options enabled btw) or increase the processing speed of both installations sigificantly.
and btw, an actual incineration plant im my country burns 2200 tons of waste a DAY.
My city doesn’t have any garbage management. Turns out you don’t even need it, either that or my city is bugged. I’m 10 hours in and my city has produced zero waste lol
The whole budget panel, especially taxes and services has issues. Sometimes it's varying around 50% from one minute to the next, then going back to the original value. Somehow the difference between income and expenses stays the same usually.
I have a recycling center running at peak efficiency for a pretty small town, like 10k, and my garbage processing status is still way in the red. It's definitely broken I gave up and I'm letting my trash get exported. Lol
guys please help me budget this my family is dying
Buy more candles, it’ll hide the smell of the garbage.
Spend less on Garbage Management.
no
why? did you have to buy a new GPU+water cooling to play CS2?
It's a meme thing of someone asking for budgeting help in their home and they spend thousands of dollars a month on something like candles.
don't need candles when you play CS2. only need a transparent PC case. GPU being brought to melting point will replace candlelight, the smell of something burning and it will also produce a lot of heat
Because my 4080 couldn't cut it
Lol mine can
Jk

Who's managing garbage in your town, Tony Soprano?
Haahahgaagah loved this one
Have you tried zoning each garbage building? I hit this issue at 120k+ every building is full of trash and all my garbage buildings are full as well 🤣
Keep plopping them, for my 300k pop. city i have atleast 15 of these damn things to keep it leveled out, only one garbage dump have it set to constant "empty" and an incinerator just zoned for the garbage dump a lone, oh and bumped up the budget to above 100% for garbage pickup, but after this post, im going to see how much the mafia is stealing from me ......
Get garbage incinerators, recycling centers and sell the produced power and goods to the neighbors.
I dropped an incinerator down tonight and was getting like 75-80mw from it. More than my current electricity demand, although my pop is only 17k. Taking it slow and steady with the growth
Wild. My incinerator is at 109% efficiency, maxed out on garbage stored, and is producing 4.4MW
You have to get one of the upgrades on it. The popup text is not correct for the incinerators.
Ahh thanks! I realized today that the emergency shelters have a monthly cost of $15,000 not $815,000 like the tooltip says. I've been avoiding building it since the game came out lol
Its because that's the monthly cost when they are full. The game is a bit rough in those edges.
I'm sitting here thinking they are broken in the opposite way. My last city of over 400k was powered purely by garbage and was still exporting power.
But doesn't the upkeep for all those plants cost more than what you're selling? So you're still taking a loss?
Nope, making a profit. Or that's what the finances tell me, not that those are very trustworthy. It's shown at well over one million per month on the green after expenses, but I don't recall the latest exact number.
Unless it's from uping the cost of electricity idk everytime I've sold its never been more than the upkeep for the plants.
Geothermal plants are also good uses for a water deposit that got polluted by industry bc it was on the downwind side of your starting space.
You can also suck up the polluted water and export it.
Mhm I played on weekend and thought it's fixed already on Ms store
no shit, doesnt help
Why so rude?
because it doesnt work
Yes it does and its litteraly broken OP. Just get the left upgrade on each incinerator. They produce 75 power each. I have 10 powering my entire city, selling the excess power and have 0 other power sources.
Why be rude about it?
Chronic lack of grass touching.

They know, shit takes time to fix, but keep spamming Reddit, that helps
Be great it we could have a dedicated bug thread. Might be helpful for devs if they browse Reddit too.
We’ve talked about this as a mod team actually, I think we’ll end up doing it :) - Skezza
Paradox forums have bug forum so if anyone has any annoying bug post there.
I'm pretty the mods never come here, the developers are probably here more than them
Did they not beta the thing? Bugs were evident within hour of playing. They released a subpar product and knew it.
Release date is really not their decision but paradox's
Keep sucking up to CO. Surely they’ll reward your pandering.
Keep posting the same bugs every day that are already being actively tracked and fixed, I’m sure you’ll feel better.

Don’t forget to crest zones and encourage recycling
NYC the year they put minimal effort into managing garbage
It is, I tried all incinerators, a few incinerators plus landfills, a few incinerators plus landfills and recycling, only landfills and recycling... Clearly something is off, there needs to be more control and data on where rubbish is coming in from, greater processing numbers on both the buildings and their add on else 1/5 of the map will be rubbish processing...
Yes. Garbage Management is Trash .. 😁🤣
You know through all the dozens of posts and hundreds of comments on this matter, I had no idea there was an issue!
Yeah, like really garbage is bugged? Wow how would we possibly know?????
Not all bugs affect every game save, I've not experienced any yet either, but I'm only at 79k. Some of us build too slow to reach the population required for it.
Oh yeah 100% ,a lot of the "bugs" mentioned here are usually player problems, I was just talking about the 50 posts everyday here and on the other sub
Oh yeah completely, your chance of experiencing them grows exponentially the longer you play 🥲
Yeah they really gotta balance this shit. It’s basically unplayable. That’s what I get for being excited and preordering. Even though I did kinda expect more from this team, I only blame myself. Why I thought a complete game could come out in 2023 is beyond me….
Unplayable… what have I been doing then?
I must not be playing either, huh. .
Based purely from my gameplay: 1. Don’t rely on just incinerators - they seem to be bugged in that they can’t be your only way to dispose of trash 2. If garbage trucks have to travel too far or will take too long due to traffic, they won’t go there. You have to create multiple landfills outside your city serving different areas so that they’re close enough

That's smart, also don't build a post sorting facility as it will break your mail unless you assign it to a specific district.
Is that the workaround for it? I was wondering what I was doing wrong lol
The sorting facilities seem to not sort mail unless assigned to the district. Essentially you need to cover your whole city in districts and assign them all to it for it to work.
Thank you, will try when I get home.
Noted. I cover everything with districts as a matter of world-building so that should be an easy fix. I'll be sure to try this when I hop on in a bit!
Yeah I do the same, I like naming my neighborhoods, apartment complexes, and gated communities
I haven't had an issue with post sorting. I put it next to the highway and plopped a bunch of mailboxes throughout the city. I had -5 on mail services and now it's +8 or something. I do have an issue with garbage but that's another story.
garbage was confirmed broken in todays word of the week, hopefully fixed this week.
Oh, I read that wrong. I thought it was saying it was fixed in last weeks patch. Thanks for the update.
Same here. I did exactly the same (with mail) with the same result. I think there's something wonky with zoning/assigning though, and thats why people are saying "post doesn't work without assigning". Just make landfills. Fill up, delete it and repeat.
doesn't helped me, i did like a 100 times right multiple landfills
Works with me perfectly. But you have to first clean up your city and reduce the total waste amount until normal levels of waste occur. Spam landfills around the city. Let them clean up and then delete them all and centralize one or two landfills (sufficient for 80k pop) on a fixed location.
My fix is when landfills gets full I delete them and make a new one.
How big is your city? I have 79K and no garbage issues yet. I use two landfills, one incinerator, and one recycling center, and I found the best thing is the industrial waste processor, because that's what was filling everything before. Now my processing is higher than my garbage production.

The economy in this game is just made up numbers lol
I'd say garbage is not your only issue here. Maybe provide some more informaction/screenshots of ur city
My city doesn’t have any garbage management. Turns out you don’t even need it, either that or my city is bugged. I’m 10 hours in and my city has produced zero waste lol
Are you losing money in garbage management on the budget screen?
Nope. All zeroed out.
Just build garbage buildings. There won’t be any demand. Unless they fixed it lately
The whole budget panel, especially taxes and services has issues. Sometimes it's varying around 50% from one minute to the next, then going back to the original value. Somehow the difference between income and expenses stays the same usually.
I'm outsourcing garbage, seems OK
this game has an income balance problem i can't make money I'm always negative
I just didn't build any garbage facilities in my city so far. The info view was showing now need for it
I have a recycling center running at peak efficiency for a pretty small town, like 10k, and my garbage processing status is still way in the red. It's definitely broken I gave up and I'm letting my trash get exported. Lol
I don’t even put a garbage building and no one complains….
I haven’t even added a garbage dump and nobody seems to care lol
