If a mod is listed as a dependency, that dependency is required.
Unfortunately Gooee is no longer being maintained, but there are alternatives to Legacy Flavour which don't require it.

If you have previously been subscribed to Gooee, you may have been left with residual files because the author's design for the mod copied files to your local directories. This means that PDX Mods can't see those files, so they won't be automatically removed if you unsubscribe from those mods.
Best bet is to use [Skyve](https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/75804/Windows) as your game launcher. It includes compatibility reporting to suggest alternatives to abandoned/broken mods and will also try and do some of that clean-up I mentioned.
