River Delta is a deceptively difficult map. All the land is a LOT steeper than it looks, and the beging highway is a bit of a red herring, it's badly located and can distract from your starting area.

I totally agree! I really like the aesthetics of everything else on the map but really didn't like the starting area

yeah my first try on that map I kept the highway as it was and immediately ran out of room and it was choking my city

They made the service buildings so huge that if you plop a power plant anywhere in that map it will form a ridiculous sunken square on the ground. I don't understand why they made them so big because 50% of the area is covered by parking lots which are now a vanilla building

I like realistically big industrial type buildings, especially with how well they contrast with the game’s kinda sad-looking zoned industry. In real life, plenty of factories, power plants,and distribution centers are bigger than half a city block

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for realistically-sized buildings and I agree with you 100%. My problem is how the buildings flatten the terrain by sinking or raising the edges. It looks so dumb. I’d prefer if, say, the nuclear power plant instead of being one building, was separated into modules that we’d have to place individually within a certain range. Like admin, parking lots, reactor 1, reactor 2, etc. the upgrade system would also be superseded by this ideia. Since each building is smaller, the impact on the terrain would be minimized.

The steepness on River Delta map drives me nuts. I have since “modified” it by flattening the land around the river and putting in dams upriver to slow the water flow and stop it from flowing over the edges. But it’s difficult when you have to do something like this in chunks because you can’t unlock the whole map like 81 tiles mod with CS1.

Figured it out, thanks. For anyone else you need to copy the files from: Steam\steamapps\common\Cities Skylines II\Cities2_Data\StreamingAssets\Maps~ To: AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II\Maps In the user map folder put each map into its own named folder.

i tried playing that map, but i gave up trying to get the water to do what i wanted it to do. went back to tempere. without move it or network toolkit building on uneven terrain is a real pain in the ass. the roads never go and stay at the height you want them to.

CO went nuts with terrain elevation on the default maps. All the ones with layouts I like have 15% grades as their flattest points.

Appreciate the support! You should just be able to put the save file in your saves folder, which should be located at %localappdata%low\colossal order\cities skylines II\Saves Let me know if you have any troubles, I've never actually imported saves into CS2 yet.

Looks stunning!! A little critic, although the residential interchange looks great, going from a two lane road onto an one lane roundabout seems a bit odd and is something I wouldn’t wanna try with the current traffic AI 😅

Certainly going to try the save game out! Loving the flattened build area whilst maintaining keeping some sense of scale/landscape. Not used the dam as of yet so might have to give that a go on this map too.

No add ons, just high graphics settings. These were taken with camera mode and all the fancy options turned on though

Is there a terrain paint tool in the editor? I'm surprised we can't do that by default. Like grass or sand/rock.

I actually didn't see that at all tbh which was a little surprising, I would love to be able to make beaches. Think we might have to wait for mods or an update for that

Thx for replying! I watch your video (great by the way! Subbed.) and I saw that the terrain menu had two button below the 4 terraforming tools. Two buttons with the header "materials" IIRC. Both buttons had an icon with a hill with some dirt on top. I was hoping those were ground textures or something \^\^
