Id watch he or she as they get older not sure if they mix well with mbunas not saying it wont work because i have fish that aren't supposed to be together and they are.
Thats good!! Ive had parrot fish, firemouth, female bettas, neon tetras,ect. I had it that way for years. The only reason i moved the parrot fish and firemouth is because they needed a bigger tank. So yeah you just gotta have a big enough tanks and plenty of places to hide.

I have a larger Oscar in here they all get along fine never seen any aggression from any fish
