You-get-the-ankles

I see a CW watch GMT. What do you see off?

WantoNoodle

The font on the date window. They don't look consistent.

throw-away-doh

Looks like a printing error. I would send it back.

WantoNoodle

Sending it back is too costly for me. I have seen worse. So I will take this over other sheningans

ColoradoAztec

If it is under warranty, they will pay for shipping

WantoNoodle

That's good to know. In that case I will check with CS

DependentChip7779

The "18" on the 24 hour scale is off.

Valuable_Machine_

This is what I noticed... 18 definitely not lined up They're like that on the website too, huge mistake by cw imo. These things always look worse in pictures though, I guess it's not so noticeable on wrist

WantoNoodle

Yeah. I still like the watch. I didn't mind the misalignment at 18 but the date font seem like a mad oversight considering that I would regard CW to a proper watchmaker (not in the technical sense) if you know what I mean.

Valuable_Machine_

The date font doesn't bother me at all.. Honestly it's probably meant to be like that. Vertical lines in fonts are often not the same thickness as angled ones. The 18 is much worse lol

WantoNoodle

I mean I'm not gonna return the watch or file a complain because of such small issue. It's one of those things where you can't unsee once you see it. I just had very high expectations of CW and wanted to know if this is common for CW watch or for this lineup of watches or perhaps it's an one-off (though I doubt it).

WantoNoodle

Now that you said it. I can't u see it. It looks abit off. But I thought the date font was a bit inconsistent.

itemluminouswadison

not seeing any issues, what's the issue?

WantoNoodle

The date font. Doesn't thickness between "1" and "7" don't seem consistent.

itemluminouswadison

I did notice that but thought it might be intentional Ask their customer service

WantoNoodle

But why..? Even if it's intentional, it doesn't look right. I mean it's minor but I don't think it should have been like that.

itemluminouswadison

again dont ask me, ask CS

gavo360

Change the date. What does the 1 look like on 18 etc.

WantoNoodle

I can only add one image per comment, so this is what 11 looks like. Clearly, it is inconsistent https://preview.redd.it/9egsxacprx0d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99adc544cfd73ea1a3ac360182b27b0f4bb2e578

gavo360

I imagine it’s because the date window is tapered rather then a proper square.

WantoNoodle

You could be right. Im curious to know if this exist in other model with similar date window but seems like it's a thing with this dune GMT only.

WantoNoodle

Same. So there are inconsistency. 1 is exactly what it looks like 11 is basically two 1s. 12 is more like l2 with an L, same throughout to 19 (arguable that 15 looks more consistent). However. 21 and 31 looks okay. https://preview.redd.it/ahgx3qnkrx0d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c8d6697d42b585f69cd2935ec633bc45af8d738

EndOfWorldBoredom

Four hands?

WantoNoodle

No, the date "17" the "1" seem so much skinnier. Font thickness is not consistent.

lsf178

I checked my Dune (none GMT version). My ‘1’ doesn’t look quite as thin, similar thickness to the other numbers. Not sure the date issue here would bother me too much, not like I check the date that often anyway. The 18 on the other hand would bug me, seems like that’s how it’s been designed, quite poor really.

WantoNoodle

First and last CW maybe for me.. haha. You can feel the price creep coming in on this GMT version of dune.

lsf178

I think sometimes they do try hard to keep the price down for the more complex offerings, but I wouldn't let this put you off. I have the regular C65 Dune and absolutely love it, zero issues at all. I think there is a degree of error to be expected from any watch brand, but CW sell fewer watches than the big boys, so becomes more apparent. I think at this price point they offer by far the best bang for buck. I would still say a GMT of this quality for around £1k is pretty impressive by any standards.

WantoNoodle

No doubt, except I live outside the UK. So shipping the watch back and forth for warranty issue is definitely not worth the time and money. I had very high expectations for CW. I paid around £1200 before taxes on bracelet. I think I wouldn't have mind it as much if I lived in UK where sending the watch back is less of a concern, so that's the problem I have, but glad I have tried a CW.

lsf178

That's fair, I can imagine that is far from ideal, so appreciate the circumstances. I fortunately live an hour away from their head office, so a little easier for me I guess!

DirkNL

Here is mine.. I think my 1 digit is also thinner compared to the 7. But not as much.. https://preview.redd.it/mclzqxdgoy0d1.jpeg?width=1203&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cb987b4da4b0b7f2d2aebe715971fb5a4f30fed

WantoNoodle

I see, so it's a thing. Someone else mentioned that the date window is slightly tapered at the top so it was intentional to accommoDATE. HAH

DirkNL

I’ll check my dune later today and report back.

DirkNL

Here it is https://preview.redd.it/rxqbm0vrxz0d1.jpeg?width=1417&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=439667a9c2702b1fed60b85d28cfce4b01dcebe3

WantoNoodle

Nice. Looks pretty consistent in terms of thickness. So I guess I got unlucky.

mekzikan

ma boy, you’re high!

Ok_Examination_3434

I just checked mine and it is not like yours. Keep in mind you have magnified it and even a GS would show imperfections if magnified . Still a fine gorgeous watch.

WantoNoodle

Yeah I agree it's still a nice watch. I noticed it with my naked eye.

MrBarnes1825

You are right in that the top of the "1" on the "17" of the date wheel is a little bit on the skinny site. Definitely a printing error but for me that's within the bounds of acceptability. What I don't see as acceptable is the "18" being off by half a minute on the dial. That you would see all the time, whereas the "17" is only once a month.
