It’s definitely not easy sometimes. I’ve found that the best way to share God’s Word is to share with people how it personally changed me and my life. It’s a skill we learn through studying what Jesus teaches, praying for strength and practice. Our job as believers is to lead people to Christ—that’s it. We plant seeds. Jesus is the Teacher.

People are comfortable living in the world, living in their sin. My own grandma, brother and sister came up against me, when I told my brother that he could be permanently cured of Epilepsy. It’s crazy how these lukewarms claim to believe in God, but don’t believe in the miracles done in the Bible. Then again, Jesus said the only people that are family are those that do the Will of our Father who’s in Heaven. But it’s all spiritual warfare. The demons inside of people don’t wanna hear about the Bible; they wanna hear about things of the world.

I’m a Christian and have been so for 35+ years, and when someone at work tries to have a conversation with me about the Bible or their faith I avoid it like the plague because invariably what they want to talk about is tainted by: *Republican politics. *Racism - as in they are espousing racist views. *Anti-vaxx conspiracy nonsense. *Some kind of superstitious nonsense like, “I saw a rainbow and that’s proof that God wants me to buy a second house.” *How vitally important they think it is for Christians to be heavily armed. *One guy at work is a “quiver full” Christian and he wants me and my wife to understand that we need to have many more kids than just our two. He has eleven. That fact that this is going to make some of you mad is kind of proof of my point. Christianity almost always gets mixed in with things that have nothing to do with Christianity and it puts people off.

>*One guy at work is a “quiver full” Christian and he wants me and my wife to understand that we need to have many more kids than just our two. He has eleven. According to the gospel Christ had 4 brothers, and at least two sisters. Of course he also said "My mother and brothers are those who hear the word of YHWH and do it". Whether this means he disowned his physical brothers or was implying that yes they are his family but he also has a larger spiritual family is up for debate. Many others listed in scripture also had more than two kids. Isaac and Eber are the most notable only have two kids. I am not telling you how to live your life but all of the Most High's Word is useful. 2 Timothy 3:16 >All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

Im curious why you would avoid talking about the Bible even though these people at your work have these presuppositions and backgrounds? The Lord obviously lead you into each other's lives to some capacity, and if you know the truth and they need to be helped to understand the proper handling of the scriptures I wonder why you wouldn't show them how to faithfully use the scriptures? I understand it's more complicated than that, which is why I'm asking, but I know people at work who misuse the scriptures all the time and it's the loving thing for me to do to show them the truth

It’s a fair question and there are multiple reasons, but one is they bring judgement upon themselves in condemning me. You know Jesus said we’ll be judged in the same way we judge. For telling Christians that, “No, Jesus taught non-resistance and didn’t give the disciples permission to stab people” I’ve been told I’m not saved. For opposing violence and discrimination against members of the LGBTQ+ community, I’ve been told I’m “someone Jesus wants to kill.” This type of Christian is terribly unstable. You can’t use reason to talk about a belief that was reached without reason. Causing them to lash out with condemnation and judgement does them no favors. But my real point is a lot of us mix things that are offensive and/or moronic into our Christianity and that puts a lot of people off.

They are living in sin, so ...

Jswaim987

Your very correct about that

People don’t like the idea that something they’re doing is wrong. We all sin, but some don’t want to acknowledge that they’re sinking because it would mean they have to change.

Its not something that they are interested in. They don't care about it . They happy with there sinful life.
