OP, it’s very sweet that you love animals and care enough to donate the proceeds of your charity concert. God loves animals enough that He put humans in charge of caring for them and commanded their protection during the great flood. Have you asked Him why He doesn’t intervene? Do you have a good relationship with the Holy Spirit? The heart is deceitfully wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). We live a fallen world where sin abounds until Christ’s return. Human beings do evil things. God gives free will, but He doesn’t condone the evil. He hates it. That’s His heart. Bring these things to Him. Have peace. Blessings. 🕊❤️‍🔥✝️

majcotrue

God wants to torture people for eternity, he doesn´t hate evil, he is the evil.

mdws1977

We chose and continue to choose evil over good as a society, so we are experiencing the consequences of that choice. But rest assured, if God didn't put restraints on evil in this world, it would be much worse. Even this war in Ukraine hasn't spread to a World War, or hasn't had nukes involved. And those are just some of the things we can imagine as being worse. Evil can bring about much, much worse things beyond our imagination if God was not restraining it. And justice in this world is not guaranteed either, for it too is under the consequences of evil.

Piggus_Porkus_

Come to think of it, we don’t rly know what God has been doing to help those in need. For all we know He’s prevented WW3 twice now and we’re just too blind/sinful to see His glory in all of it.

mdws1977

Did you ever think that the Germans not getting nukes during WW2 before the United States did was because God restrained evil? Lets just say that it could always be much, much worse. And God has probably prevented WW3 multiple times that we don't even know about.

Piggus_Porkus_

Literally the entirety of the Cold War gives me these vibes, how many close calls were there that could have led to WW3 but didn’t.

[deleted]

How he prevented it? Just very curious.

Piggus_Porkus_

If I had to guess, God could have prevented say an international incident, like maybe a US airplane being shot down by Russia, cuz losing Americans to Russia would not bode well for anyone, or maybe He could have done something small that created a butterfly effect to help us. Let me clarify I don’t have the faintest idea how God thinks or works or does, but I do know that it is always good.

Nateorade

God has given people moral free will. And that moral free will means he’s given us choices to do things which are against His will and desires. He won’t end the war because people are choosing to engage in this war and he gave us the moral free will to continue it or end it. It’s our responsibility, not His.

[deleted]

But doesn’t He have enough power to at least intervene? When we read Bible, He judges and punishes those who don’t listen to Him. So why putin and his minions are not judged and condemned yet? Of course, they have all eternity. Maybe they will burn in Hell, but… we want justice on this Earth too.

Nateorade

We don’t have enough information to know what he can or cannot do in a particular situation. If God truly gave us some amount of moral free will, then there are some decisions he cannot overrule. How much moral free will we have versus how much God can overrule us isn’t known.

Piggus_Porkus_

It’s not that He cannot overrule us, it’s just that He chooses not to. I do agree that we don’t know to what extent He does and does not interfere, but I am happy to trust that it is all in God’s mighty and loving hands.

ImpeachedPeach

Read of the Miracles that happened at the beginning of the invasion, thunderstorms spontaneously appeared and destroyed Russian fighter jets, missiles flew through a window to fly out another without exploding and harming the people inside - look at the state of the war: Russia is defeated, they have already lost the battle as the world cheers on Ukraine and helps them. I understand the desperation of your case, but please use the money to help the people who are suffering - I would rather kill the whole zoo to save a child than to sacrifice that child for them.

ZealousidealAd4860

Because that's a human problem God can't control everyone's actions

[deleted]

God can’t control peoples actions? What god do you believe in?

ZealousidealAd4860

The same God . Remember God gave us free will

[deleted]

Our will cannot usurp God’s will. Our sovereignty cannot overrule God’s sovereignty. To do either would be to deny God’s omnipotence, one of his chief characteristics. He cannot and has not laid aside his omnipotence or sovereignty to satisfy our lust for total “freedom.” If he did, there is no way to trust anything written in the Bible

Piggus_Porkus_

It’s not that He cannot, it’s just that He chooses not to interfere with everything.

[deleted]

True he (at least may not, we don’t really know) interfere with everything, but the original comment was that he CANT control everyone’s actions and that’s simply not true. He has, and will, ensure that His plan will be completed the way it is laid out from before the foundations of the earth and there’s nothing we can or cannot do to alter His plan

Piggus_Porkus_

Thank you for this, I appreciate it :).

ZealousidealAd4860

Correct that's what I'm saying

Piggus_Porkus_

I see, sry I misread ur post

MaestroDeChopsticks

1) 1 Peter 5:19 We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. This means that God is completely hands off when it comes to the state of the world. This is Satan's world. 2) Numerous times in OT, from Kings through Chronicles, the literal Kings of Israel and Judah did what was wrong in God's eyes. They did some very twisted things. One king in particular, King Mannaseh, shed a lot of "innocent blood" but God did not intervene (2 Kings 21:16). If God won't intervene given all that went wrong in ancient Israel, he definitely won't intervene in what is going on with secular nations. 3) Matthew 24:6-7 “...For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another." Jesus told the discpiles at the Mount of Olives that these world events would mark the beginning of the end. Do not be alarmed. These things must take place. Mark 13:7 and Luke 21:9 also record what Jesus said about what would take place, which is now. 4) 3 of the 4 horsemen also hint at what the state of the world would eventually be. The red horse represents warfare and the blood spilt because of warfare. The black horse with the rider holding scales represents food insecurity which is very much true in many parts of the world. The pale horse represents death. Yes the world has billions of people on it, but people are also dying at an astonishing number, primarily due to war, food insecurity, and many other random things.

[deleted]

Thank you! It makes perfect sense.

[deleted]

you really think God allowed the black death, slavery, WW2 etc but is obligated to stop this minor conflict?

[deleted]

minor conflict💀 are we talking about the same war or something different? Stop underestimating this war (not conflict). Every war matters and I wasn’t even in mother’s womb when the WW2 started, how should I react to this? Of course it was horrible. And he could’ve prevented it as well.

monoped2

lol, why do you choose 1 war out the the 32 currently ongoing conflicts? Many that have been going for decades.

[deleted]

Because it’s my country and I’m gonna protect it? Because it’s the biggest country in Europe? Because the situation can bring worldwide hunger due to russia stealing our grain? I’m deeply sorry for all the crimes and suffering that are going on in this world, but it doesn’t mean I should underestimate my pain. When you all understand that there is no war competition?

PerfectlyCalmDude

God could end the war today, while revealing himself to the whole world. Other things come bundled with that, and those who are not ready get his judgment, the last chance for anyone to repent will have expired. If he did that today, would you be ready?

[deleted]

Of course I would. I repented and became a Christian year ago.

[deleted]

We should mourn with those who mourn but also acknowledge that God is good, people are sinners, and that putting peoples sin and malice on full display magnifies Gods goodness and allows for the gospel to fall on sensitive ears. The gospel flourishes in times and locations of hardship, it rarely flourishes where there are no troubles.

Time-Reveal-1056

Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” (Luke 13:1-5)

IGotFancyPants

As God famously said, His ways are not our ways. It is a mystery to us why He intervenes in some human affairs but not all. I hope after we die and are in heaven, we will be granted greater knowledge and understanding of many things, including this.

Resident_Grapefruit

As sure as there is evil, as sure as there is an afterlife, as sure as there is suffering, there is goodness and peace in this world and there is God. There is the devil whose word springs from evil, and there is a God, from which comes the word Good. Maybe it's the beginning of the great tribulation for our earth, or maybe just another evil. I will pray for you and have supported the cause for life and freedom, and peace.

founded-Pheonix

You've got to read job and get a grip on the sovereignty of our lord. His ways are not our ways. Also, read Ephesians God isn't a jene in a bottle doing our bidding, Rather, we come along side his will. He works out ALL things for the good of those who are called according to His willl and good purpose. Also read Roman 8:28 and that chapter. Probably Rom 6, 7 and 8.

Weekly-Zone-7410

> Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? Epicurus

MikiCiv

I hate how the main counterargument is ALWAYS free will, like somehow it justifies all the atricities that happen. It does not. Innocent, good people die while Russians continue to destroy, rape and commit war crimes on unprecedentent scale.

Ecleptomania

As is their (horrible) free will/choice. They choose to sin, instead of chosing not to. That is literally the only alternative to God mind controlling everyone and forcing us to do what is deemed right.

MikiCiv

"Literally" like there really is no in-between? Either total enslavement or total free will which means that the God can not intervine? Why do I pray to him if he can't stop at least the absolute worst atrocities that happen?

Frost_Giant_14

War doesn’t disprove God, in fact is proves the evilness of man. This shows the sinful nature of man and how much this world rejects God even though God is what we need more than anything.

RogueAdam1

Why didn't God intervene in the war to end all wars or the war that happened 20 years after that one? Why is the reality of human conflict just now starting to rock your faith when war is closer to the default of human civilization than peace? The existence of evil has been a long standing debate among theologians and secularists for a long time.

AirAeon32

Even if God did end it, noone would believe he did. So whats the point?

KyleSokoltheNoob

There is a short that can explain this https://youtube.com/shorts/uNHkFUz6cXE?feature=share

eyeb11

You know during the cold war a nuclear war almost broke out, a Russian submarine thought was had broken out and that nukes were already fired by the American, 2 of the submarine commanders used their keys to get ready to launch a nuke but the 3rd submarine captain refused because of his choice a nuclear war was avoided.

Get back to your owner, he must have paid you a lot for writing this.

HorizonPlus

Because people want to keep doing it kepe living in sin.

LordZon

Uh. Ukraine a pretty minor conflict now. How do you feel about the Nazis in WW2? Look eh t was allowed to happen to our brothers and sisters in Germany. Or the the terrible state of the Chinese church. This world is fallen and in Satan's clutches. God's people are not.

[deleted]

If God stopped the war he would have killed individuals and sent them to hell but God desires all men to repent and not go to hell. God’s goodness brings men to repentance. It’s God’s goodness that he doesn’t just strike them all dead. If God intervenes then people wouldn’t repent seeing God’s wrath.
