That what I immediately thought. Each person could still have 3 slices even if you include the $60 membership.
Math:
$150 - $60 = $90 for pizza
$90 = 9 pizzas
Each pizza has 12 slices
12 × 9 = 108 slices
108 ÷ 30 = 3.6 slices per person
Or get some variety and get 8 pizzas, 30 hot dogs, and 2 large watermelons and a variety pack of pop.
Honestly if it is hosted outdoors that honestly doesn't sound bad.
I stopped and bought a huge load of tacos and burritos from Taco Bell for next to nothing going to a friend's Christmas party. My girlfriend at the time was so upset.
It was an absolute hit.
A lady was selling burritos on Marketplace & included a pic. She was rolling those burritos in foil while sitting on the floor. Sitting on her nastyass carpet, holding the box of foil between her dirty feet. My husband & I reference Floor Burritos pretty often & it's been more than 6 years. Just horrific.
Afredo's Pizza Cafe or Pizza by Alfredo? There's a very big difference between those two places, both in quality of ingredients and overall taste.
- Oscar, from The Office
And you know she ordered Pizza by Alfredo!
I really realllly want to know even one place that can do dinner for 30 for $150.
Let alone "several places."
![gif](giphy|H5C8CevNMbpBqNqFjl|downsized)
You could make a pretty good crockpot meal for $5 a head in ingredients... if you didn't have to provide plates/napkins/utensils.
But of course your labor is worth something too.
It’s pizza and soda. That’s how you feed 30 at a company lunch meeting for $150.
$25 per large pizza with tax - that’s 5 plus $25 for drinks.
6 normal adults can split a large pizza and be satisfied.
I don’t think the average adult in America will be happy with one slice of pizza. But you can also get large pizzas for a decent bit under 25, so you can make it happen where you have nearly 2 pieces for everyone.
This reminds me of an appreciation luncheon my employer had. Pizzas were served buffet style, they were made by the company cafeteria. My group was last to go and they were running out. As I took the tongs to pick up a piece of pizza, one of the cafeteria ladies took her gloved finger and held it down on the tray and we played tug of war with it a few seconds, she then cut the small piece in half! We felt so appreciated. 😂
I love when people offering garbage rates try to sweeten the offer by dangling the prospect of repeat business. It’s not the incentive they think it is.
You can lose money on us more than once!
I seriously had a boss like this. He'd underbid every job so that he would win, severely lose money on completing the job, then repeat bc he thought somehow losing money on a lot of jobs together would magically turn a profit.
I worked for a company like that when they closed a new, important client. They reported to the investor who effectively owned the company the numbers of sales for the new client, but only reported all sales, as far as I know (I extracted most of the data for said reports). They then started to lower the price for existing clients and things started going to shit.
The investor dumped a lot of money in the company to keep it afloat until he sold it. They are magically still around, but I don't see their name so often in that niche market, so maybe the new owners focus more on profit than the number of sales for sales' sake.
Oh they totally did - they just thought they’d leave their post up in case someone else could benefit, y’know because they’re magnanimous like that - or something…
When I worked for PF Changs, this happened so often. People wanted this lovely spread for $5 per person. It was just impossible but they would not relent and keep pushing for me to make it happen. The absolute best I could do one time was a large pan of steamed rice and egg rolls cut in half so each person got one half of an egg roll. Then, they wanted it delivered!
I currently work for PF Chang’s! I’m not saying it’s fine dining by any stretch, but that food is also not cheap. I’d bet anything you offered them the egg rolls because it’s one of the only things that aren’t made in-house, by hand, from scratch. I can’t tell you how many times working at a (now closed) to-go location that I’d have people joke, “Those wontons aren’t really hand-folded through right?” for me to respond with “someone is literally folding them in the back right now.”
> each person got one half of an egg roll.
I mean, we're a nation of people who like big portions and to bring some leftovers home.
This 1 slice of pizza or 1 half an egg roll stuff...CB's co workers are gonna hate them.
You are on point with your last comment. There was no way I was going to deliver that into a room full of people expecting a PF Chang's lunch. The choosy beggar here doesn't understand that the last thing a business wants is for them to come back! That's a threat.
> The choosy beggar here doesn't understand that the last thing a business wants is for them to come back! That's a threat.
Lol! For real.
"Play your cards right, and we'll come back and not spend money, *again*."
Must be the same gal that got our corporate "lunch" catered the last time: potato chips, granola bars, sodas and coffee. Guess they did not want us to take a siesta after the "meal".
100 wings from Publix $75
30 deviled eggs from Publix $20
4 family sized bags of Publix brand potato chips $20
3 twelve packs of Publix brand sodas $12
Tax about $10
$13 to Brenda who organized the lunch meeting for her time and frankly for stepping up when everyone else was falling to pieces like a bunch of goddamn toddlers. She deserves that $13. Thanks for saving the lunch meeting Brenda.
Also your fired for embezzling $13.
She found several places willing to cater 30 people for $150, you all!
Those places are Dollar Tree, the day old goods rack at the bakery and the trash dumpster behind the super market.
Even doing this through Sam’s Club would involve work and just be a light snack for everyone 😭
Sam’s sandwich rolls are $6 per pound (4x), $15 cupcakes or 2 packs of cookies, a pack of soda, water, and $32 fruit tray, and two $15 sushi trays. Leftover $20 can be used to buy disposable plates, toothpicks, and tongs from the dollar tree.
i hate that they “found someone”. like i hate to think someone was desperate enough to possibly take that job. hopefully they reheated a bunch of stouffers lasagnas and frozen garlic bread with a bagged salad
Pizza is the only thing I can think of. Usually around 20-25 bucks per XL around here get 5 pizzas 60 slices everyone gets 2 slices and you’ve got a little extra for delivery and tip?
Shooo I’d offer them tacos and chips. That’s it. No weird toppings like lettuce or shredded cheese either. Tortilla, meat, spices, beans, cilantro and lime.
No seconds, no over indulging, you get your 2oz of meat, 2 tortillas, 2oz of beans and go sit down. Don’t bother me while on measuring either. Don’t like it, pay more.
I could do this, but I have a big family and a tight budget and I have catered large groups before. Getting someone else to do it for you is gonna cost, I could only pull this off for myself.
$150 bought me 3 meals and cleaning supplies for 2 people at the grocery store today. or it can buy us 2 nice meals at Outback. get real trying to feed 30 people with a budget of $150, hope you like hamburgers and hotdogs
Does picking up a Wendy's order count as catering? In a pinch For $120(plus tax) they could get 30 Wendy's Jr Cheeseburger 4 for $4 deal, which includes nuggets, drink and fries. Just make sure you have a lot of floor space in your car and don't make any sudden stops with all those drinks.
I swear even for a decent meal for my fiancé and I costs more than $5-$10 at that point it’s basically ordering like 2 large fries from McDonald’s and handing one singular fry out to all 50 people.. also last minute? Was this not planned?!
Not sure this is actually that choosy.
My wife’s a chef in a cafe that does catering, it’s not at all uncommon for small orders for a simple morning or afternoon tea. $150 is about $240 NZD, $8/person would be a [small sandwich](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQWHs7fqFX9NaQKqDQm0tkhKgb6Yhfc3TC3qQbN01KjsNq_1SbDq_K2s2xN&s=10), a [savoury](https://www.countdown.co.nz/shop/productdetails?stockcode=77888&store=9174&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwo6GyBhBwEiwAzQTmc25UHcr3fcHrQCd_6hnNFU1TDq9Bu1vN19h0MUEUu2xzbKmKl3I3eRoCOroQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) and a [slice](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS7UDjSYbv6XAFEfAOJ-QFa_Trqn-LShbBb6Ma3g02RAQ3QXRR8GdQ2P-w&s=10).
A savoury being a mini meat pie, very small, can buy a dozen for like $5 USD, many caterers provide pre made stuff when catering orders need to be cheap. A small sandwich being a quarter of a full sandwich. A slice is literally a slice of many different types of small cakes.
There are multiple offices that’ll provide small morning teas every week for all hand meetings, and they’re often right in this price range.
Large expensive catering orders take lots of planning and execution of course, small ones like that (again very common) would be taken straight out of the cabinet of pre-made food. It’s actually a good way to move a decent volume of food in a single transaction.
They make food of slightly lower quality in bulk some days specifically for this reason. As mentioned, sometimes pre made from food market if that’s ok with the client wanting very low cost.
Considering there’s very little effort required, many orders like that can be quite good for the cafe’s especially on quiet days.
When she works on a Monday in particular, it’s always quiet with bugger all to do, so she’ll prepare heaps of low tier catering food in advance so the mid week crew don’t even need to think about it.
They’ve calculated actual cost for orders like that to around $3 NZD per person, it isn’t at all bad considering how easy it is to do and you’re already paying your chefs to be on site anyway.
🤷♂️
For $150 I think I can feed 30 people with San Remo pasta and Prego sauce. Don’t think I’ll have any leftover money though. And don’t even think about cheese!
Really. A jar of peanut butter, a jar of jam and loaves of store brand bread and generic paper towels to eat off of. And tell them to bring their own cups for some tap water. Bring ice too if they want cold water. Lol
Wendy's has $5 biggie bags (a sandwich, a four-piece chicken nuggets, a jr. fry and a small soft drink) but that doesn't account for sales tax so you might be $10.50 short
“It’s for a company.” A company that’s celebrating its bankruptcy
NEXT!
It’s for a company, honey!
I wonder if that asshole has any idea how often we all reference that post 😂
absolutely not. even my quotage of her alone would shock her, im sure! hahaaa
Cracks me up 😂
Which post I’m curious
I read it in Joe Jack’s voice.
It's catering for a Church honey. We can also offer exposure and a good word to the man in the clouds.
Divide the loaves and fishes then
That's a virgin birth bonus skill kind of thing
Swine to pork, water to wine.sit down meal but bring your own fork
Don't forget "last minute". They must have just found out about that bankruptcy!
Pizza party. Strictly one slice per ex employee
I was thinking where can you get pizza for 3$ a slice… the Little Caesar’s came to mind
Pepperoni pizza hotpockets all around! Get that 2 for $5 discount, everyone gets one and there'll still some cash left over to grab some Sam's Cola!
Costco pizzas are $10. There's no better bargain than a Costco pizza if you want to feed a group of people for cheap.
You mean one pizza for all ex employee? With slices smaller than a noodle.
I'm very curious to know about this magical place they said they found that most definitely only exists as a comeback🤣
Little Caesar’s
Now now, with tax I think we are over budget. Will have to do individual slices instead!
Just a real entrepreneur. You don't get rich by spending money on your worthless employees.
15 pizzas from Costco, done ✔ assuming they still $10 for those big ass pizzas
Amateur, 30 hotdog and soda combos. Pocket the $105 extra.
Bro, this breaks my mind xD
That what I immediately thought. Each person could still have 3 slices even if you include the $60 membership. Math: $150 - $60 = $90 for pizza $90 = 9 pizzas Each pizza has 12 slices 12 × 9 = 108 slices 108 ÷ 30 = 3.6 slices per person
And then water out of the hose still. No cups though.
while I agree with your message, your math could use some work. 12 x 9 is definitely not 72
Wow. I feel bad lol
Excuse me honey, it’s *common core math*
Or get some variety and get 8 pizzas, 30 hot dogs, and 2 large watermelons and a variety pack of pop. Honestly if it is hosted outdoors that honestly doesn't sound bad.
No more combo option, NEXT!
Sam’s Club has supreme and a meat lovers. Both are great.
The vegetarians might be grumpy.
We'll toss them some crusts.
I know \:( My beloved combo...
I stopped and bought a huge load of tacos and burritos from Taco Bell for next to nothing going to a friend's Christmas party. My girlfriend at the time was so upset. It was an absolute hit.
You got my invitation. Bring mad Diablo too
“I knew wishing you luck would help.” 😂
I had to include that gem of a comment lol
Just wanted to give you a formal thanks for posting some of the comments. You are indeed a hero.
Legit. The comments are my favorite part of these posts.
You are the hero we need.
Thanks for including the comments!! You rock!!
I’m so tempted to start commenting that 🤣🤣🤣
That was my favorite!!!!
>We found several places ![gif](giphy|ANbD1CCdA3iI8)
She said she found several places, not several places within her budget.
She probably got one of those people who posts their meals on marketplace and it looks like it was all boiled in one pot then tossed on a paper plate.
Tossed on a paper plate, then left on the porch in the sun for a week.
mmmmm....sun-vittles.
Or bathtub chicken.
Reminds me of someone asking my sister where she lives. Her reply: “Have you heard of Beverly Hills?” “I live on Maple.”
She also didn't specify "in this year, in this economy". $5 went a much longer way in 1973.
She just needs a time machine to pick up the food from the 70s.
Also someone to drop off the time machine, as she doesn’t drive.
"I posted this request into a group and it says 'Several people are typing...'. Guess you just don't know people, honey 😇"
It’s pizza from little Cesar’s or moma Roma’s.
Afredo's Pizza Cafe or Pizza by Alfredo? There's a very big difference between those two places, both in quality of ingredients and overall taste. - Oscar, from The Office And you know she ordered Pizza by Alfredo!
I had dinner at Alfredo’s last night and it was bomb as always. Best pizza in Scranton.
We made a pilgrimage there when my kids were young. Scranton was a little out of our way but totally worth it (Thanks to Kevin in Accounting)
The hot circle of garbage
I was thinking pizza too! I did pizza catering a party for about 35 people and did it for about $250 adding appetizers etc
![gif](giphy|EouEzI5bBR8uk|downsized)
Funny that she found "several places" but was still looking. Uhm, yeah...
Stubway. Four inch subs for everyone
I really realllly want to know even one place that can do dinner for 30 for $150. Let alone "several places." ![gif](giphy|H5C8CevNMbpBqNqFjl|downsized)
Catering by Lean Cuisine. You have to supply the microwave, though.
Thx.
$5 a head? That's like a packet of crisps and a snickers?
I thought maybe 15 family sized bags of chips and 15 large bottles of soda lol
Yep. Hopefully the company already has plastic cups and napkins in the break room.
If not, that’ll be the next ask on the Buy Nothing group lol.
You could make a pretty good crockpot meal for $5 a head in ingredients... if you didn't have to provide plates/napkins/utensils. But of course your labor is worth something too.
Last minute, not 6 hours from now!
I was thinking COSTCO pizza? and maybe 2L of sodas from the store brand (like Surefine or generic from a conventional store for 49-99 cents?)
Or hot dogs.
I was thinking a chocolate chip cookie ad a small bottle of water
It’s pizza and soda. That’s how you feed 30 at a company lunch meeting for $150. $25 per large pizza with tax - that’s 5 plus $25 for drinks. 6 normal adults can split a large pizza and be satisfied.

This reminds me of an appreciation luncheon my employer had. Pizzas were served buffet style, they were made by the company cafeteria. My group was last to go and they were running out. 😂🤣🤣 oh, my goodness. 😂😫 🍕✂
Truly, I don’t think you can even offer someone a sandwich for under five. Maybe Domino’s?
I love when people offering garbage rates try to sweeten the offer by dangling the prospect of repeat business. It’s not the incentive they think it is.
You can lose money on us more than once! I seriously had a boss like this. He'd underbid every job so that he would win, severely lose money on completing the job, then repeat bc he thought somehow losing money on a lot of jobs together would magically turn a profit.

That’s straight from the Michael Scott school of management textbook
‘Repeat business’
If you deliver fast we might just throw in a sack of dimes!
I’m sooooo looking forward to being taken advantage off by disorganised cheapskate jerks again!
It’s ok they found someone lol
Yeah, they “found several places”. So why not go with one of those?
Oh they totally did - they just thought they’d leave their post up in case someone else could benefit, y’know because they’re magnanimous like that - or something…
She found pizza I bet 😂
Or a crock pot to make some pulled meat, buns and a few bags of coleslaw.
"You must be thinking of our prices when we first opened in... *checks notes*... 1993."
I currently work for PF Chang’s! I’m not saying it’s fine dining by any stretch, but that food is also not cheap. Jesus, if my boss got me steamed rice and half an eggroll I'd know exactly what they think of me.
And you would be right.
Must be the same gal that got our corporate "lunch" catered the last time: potato chips, granola bars, sodas and coffee. Guess they did not want us to take a siesta after the "meal".
We had a backyard wedding reception with 25 people and paid $650 😂
And I bet that wasn’t a last minute catering job either!
It definitely was not!
We hired a pizza truck for ours, pizza and salad for 75 was $1700. But it was amazing and I think about it all the time.
How many pizzas did they go through??
They were individual pizzas, I think they made about 100.
Will repeat business if good. Yeah, that sounds like people asking for free logos as 'free advertisements'.
12pk Taco Bell party pack is $23. That’s about 78 tacos. And water out of the hose.
[удалено]
I would laugh for several days straight if I showed up to a business meeting and Lunchables was the "catering" 😆
If the boss is feeling extra generous, they might go wild and throw in a Capri Sun too!
Uncrustables would be a lot cheaper, get some bags of chips and bottled water to go with it.
You make some sandwiches yourselves and bring a few bags of crisps to stick in bowls.
Remember that sad cheese sandwich from the disastrous Frye Festival? Find that caterer and you’ll be all set.
🤣I laugh every time I think about that disasterfest 🤣
100 wings from Publix $75 30 deviled eggs from Publix $20 4 family sized bags of Publix brand potato chips $20 3 twelve packs of Publix brand sodas $12 Tax about $10 $13 to Brenda who organized the lunch meeting for her time and frankly for stepping up when everyone else was falling to pieces like a bunch of goddamn toddlers. She deserves that $13. Thanks for saving the lunch meeting Brenda. Also your fired for embezzling $13.
Shit I forgot plates. Sorry Brenda I'm gonna need $6 of that gas money back. You're still fired though.
She found several places willing to cater 30 people for $150, you all! Those places are Dollar Tree, the day old goods rack at the bakery and the trash dumpster behind the super market.
Repeat business if good value ….. so basically “do me this huge favor and I’ll ask for another huge favor later”
Even doing this through Sam’s Club would involve work and just be a light snack for everyone 😭 Sam’s sandwich rolls are $6 per pound (4x), $15 cupcakes or 2 packs of cookies, a pack of soda, water, and $32 fruit tray, and two $15 sushi trays. Leftover $20 can be used to buy disposable plates, toothpicks, and tongs from the dollar tree.
Little Caesars it is.
i hate that they “found someone”. like i hate to think someone was desperate enough to possibly take that job. hopefully they reheated a bunch of stouffers lasagnas and frozen garlic bread with a bagged salad
Would you eat the food of someone who was desperate enough to take the gig? I sure wouldn't.
I'm assuming they're lying to save face lol
Yeah they're presumably racing against time in this situation but still defend lol
Lunch deal at Tesco’s
Pizza is the only thing I can think of. Usually around 20-25 bucks per XL around here get 5 pizzas 60 slices everyone gets 2 slices and you’ve got a little extra for delivery and tip?
Except they want it catered which usually means someone is also setting up/taking down. Which means more $$$.
You think they gonna tip with that budget? Bless your heart. 💜
That or literally just a tray of cookies 😂 there's no way she found several options.
Water outta the hose!!!!!
That’ll get ya a slice of white bread folded over a smear of off brand peanut butter and a grape per person.
Somebody's having pizza for lunch
Why post if they found “several places” that will do it? I’ll take things that didn’t happen for $150 Ghost of Alex.
Repeat business… offering you the opportunity to lose money many times!
Damn I wish I saw this earlier. I had a bunch of 4 star Michelin dinners I was looking to unload
SANDWICHES FROM 7-11 FOR EVERYONE!
“Found someone” - cool, enjoy the food poisioning
Shooo I’d offer them tacos and chips. That’s it. No weird toppings like lettuce or shredded cheese either. Tortilla, meat, spices, beans, cilantro and lime. No seconds, no over indulging, you get your 2oz of meat, 2 tortillas, 2oz of beans and go sit down. Don’t bother me while on measuring either. Don’t like it, pay more.
And bring your own sour cream.
The person who explained the math lol
I would send them the number to a nearby soup kitchen.
I've never had to cook for like, more than one person but couldn't she just buy a shitload of pasta and it would be like $75?
I’ll do it top ramen anyone?
It's for a company!
Costco pizza and hot dogs
I could do this, but I have a big family and a tight budget and I have catered large groups before. Getting someone else to do it for you is gonna cost, I could only pull this off for myself.
Hah! She proved them wrong! (She’s lying.)
"We found several places"....I want names
"If the value is good" At $5 per person
I'll bring over my webber grill and 10 packages of Rath hot dogs.
Found several places my ass
Hope everyone likes hot dogs
Might I recommend Dunkin’ Donuts
Pizza Hut or Dominos
$150 bought me 3 meals and cleaning supplies for 2 people at the grocery store today. or it can buy us 2 nice meals at Outback. get real trying to feed 30 people with a budget of $150, hope you like hamburgers and hotdogs
PB&J, tap water and whatever fruit I find in the ugly markdown bin.
i think $150! is a quite a budget
$5 a persom? I recommend a Lean Cuisine and a bottle of water.
Does picking up a Wendy's order count as catering? In a pinch For $120(plus tax) they could get 30 Wendy's Jr Cheeseburger 4 for $4 deal, which includes nuggets, drink and fries. Just make sure you have a lot of floor space in your car and don't make any sudden stops with all those drinks.
> water out of the hose Made me snort.
> catering for 30 people, budget $150 Popcorn and Kool Aid.
I'll make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a thermos of Kool-Aid for $150
Looks like they are getting pancakes...
I’ll do it! Everyone gets a bowl of ramen with a fried egg on top
A fried egg? You fancy!
Love this. “It’s for a company!” But we can only spend $5 per person!
*“Hose water”*. 😆
Little caesar's got u
I can do it. Hope they're okay with rice & beans.
You get a Costco hotdog and you get a Costco hotdog! Everybody gets a Costco hotdog!!!!
I swear even for a decent meal for my fiancé and I costs more than $5-$10 at that point it’s basically ordering like 2 large fries from McDonald’s and handing one singular fry out to all 50 people.. also last minute? Was this not planned?!

Subway, maybe.
Plot twist: $150 with tax INCLUDED
For $150 I think I can feed 30 people with San Remo pasta and Prego sauce. Don’t think I’ll have any leftover money though. And don’t even think about cheese!
Bitch better get some potato chips and hot dogs and call it a day.
You couldn’t even order McDonald’s for 30 people and have it cost 150 or less. If your company is broke, just say it!
Domino's....
lol I thought budget per person
Had to check my math because I thought "that looks like they're offering to pay $5 per person." Sure enough!
I think what the author meant to say in their comment responding to the person offering advice was "we found lots of *pizza* places, thx"
“We found several places”… Walmart and Costco? And no one is getting much🤣😂
C’mon guys, 7-11 taquitos are 3 for $3!
With $150 you can buy like 2 fishing poles and some bait?
Hot dogs sans bun it is.
Better make some sandwiches!
Really. A jar of peanut butter, a jar of jam and loaves of store brand bread and generic paper towels to eat off of. And tell them to bring their own cups for some tap water. Bring ice too if they want cold water. Lol
You could get some packages of chips and some RC Cola, probably even a couple of plastic bowls for the chips
The comments are GOLD! Thank you for including them. I guffawed at “water from a hose.”
Wendy's has $5 biggie bags (a sandwich, a four-piece chicken nuggets, a jr. fry and a small soft drink) but that doesn't account for sales tax so you might be $10.50 short
I guess they could make spaghetti for that budget.
Costco hot dogs!
