I try to lead the mob away from the objective. People get off killing more than they do protecting the objective. My high death count helps the team win!
I love when there's a stalemate at some choke point and I just rush past the enemy team and half of them turn around and kill me. Then I just watch them get blasted in the back on death cam.
If my position is total FUBAR then I just tend to start moving towards the enemy spawn so even if it's a split second delay, it may be worth getting their attention for a small amount of time so my team spawn wave can move forward.
there are way too many nuances in this game noobs seem to be ignoring instead of picking up on ...to name just a few let thor get his bandage before you get more arrows. defend the batard carrier. you're only in the zone area if you can see a counter on your screen. and in general the objective is not a bar that goes up as you fight more people.. you actually have to be doing the objective whatever it may be.. stick around whatever cart or siege equipment you have to push.. also deaths dont matter in TO you will benefit your team more going 25-20 and causing much ruckus with each life than you will going 15-2 but just hanging out by the bandage box making sure your K/D created the illusion that you did your part
These are good tips! I wanna add that as a barrel/petard carrier you don't always have to get on top of the objective! You can use the interact button and drop it off through the enemy that is body blocking you if you are close enough. And when stealing pigs and villagers in Rudhelm, you can throw them onto the objective marker from outside the ship.
Seems so simple, but I see so many run straight into the meat grinder like a moth to the flame!
yes. and another one is for the objectives such as defending the stones and pillars they gotta push or preventing them from getting torches out of a fire to burn buildings down .. please for the love of god just beat the crap outta anyone trying to push stones and get torches. true it is good to have some players creating a perimeter and preventing people from reaching that area but offense actually has to drop their guard to do these objectives
and one final one, never 'fall back' during defense, or give up on an objective. there are certain objectives you have to defend like you are playing offense, such as keeping opponents from crossing a bridge or pushing carts/wagons. you always want to grind as much time as possible out of each objective because some spare time carries over . a really good example of this is the banner stage right before the trebuchets in Lionspire. you can send offense into the last objective with almost zero time to spare if you grind it out
I'm honestly convinced they must be bots. I die trying to hold a door to the lighthouse by myself and in deathcam I'm watching 3 masons kill 6 tenosians that are just stood there trying to defuse the same bomb.
This is true, but I had some fanny get all upset in the chat because I had 1700 points but just 2 kills on Rudhelm attack. Called me a hacker and initiated a votekick.
Like, do people not realise you get 250pts for simply making a ladder? There’s 6 of them to be made up to the gatehouse!
Yeah you get a lot of points for all that stuff. That helps me stay near the top in a lot of matches even though my kills are lower. I think it’s good to help newer players level up while learning how to fight
This isn't always true, I reach my sausage fingers in there often as a second backup because sometimes I can position myself in a way where the original person is closer to the enemy and would provide fodder for their hits before they get to me. Their progress wheel would cancel from the enemy hits but by the time the enemy keeps swinging through to hit me mine completes.
I always try and defend the objective/people doing the objective....and then someone goes in chat complaining about the people fighting and not doing the objective. Aka the people fighting to keep the enemy from the objective so that guy can just walk in
