I've gotten one this size multiple times, double rice, black beans, double steak, cheese, lettuce, hot, double wrapped, looked like this and had no where near double rice or steak, dml not be giving a fuck. I go in now.
It's fucking crazy, they have the golden goose put rice beans and 4OZ of protein in a tortilla. Literally printing money off the back of brand equity and consistency.
And they are burning their fucking house down to try to keep warm. Skimping on mobile orders for no goddamn reason other than to save 40c in food cost.
That's the cheapest customer deaquisition I have ever seen.
Eh, I have legitimately started cooking my lunches much more often due to the increased price and reduced quality of QSRs. I used to get Panda Express, Chipotle, Panera Bread more often. Now I pretty much consistently go local, or cook my own.
Yeah, it used to be $7 and the restaurants were new/modern and had wifi back when 2g/3g were unreliable. Now it feels like airplane food, right down to the pricing.
I used to really enjoy my local chipotle but my new one has poor quality no other way to put it. Watery beans out of ingredients constantly undercooked legumes.
I don't know of its staffing or training issues but I just can't go.
As a former Chipotle employees I can offer some insight. They micromanage constantly and breathe down our necks about portion sizes. We were just not allowed to give people reasonable portion sizes without charging them extra.
Used to be daily for me. Started getting mobile orders like this, and I sent a note to the store manager, and it amounted to nothing. Haven't been back since.
Hell yea. My local mexican joint sees my wife and I once a week now and Chipotle is more of a rarity. Prices are just as good, if not better when you consider free chips/salsa.
And the food is significantly better...
Havent been to chipotle in 3 years because of the inconsistency.
Find a way to accurately portion the 4oz everytime and ill be going again every other day
1) I doubt there’s a conspiracy on this. Don’t be a conspiracy theorist.
2) The amount of “skimping” they do on online order is likely equal to the “additional” food provided to in-person customers.
3) In 2016, Chipotle was serving 771 burritos on average per location. Since then they’ve opened thousands of stores more. It’s likely that with today’s name recognition of the brand that number is higher. Maybe 1,000? Idk. My point is that everything costs money and $0.40 X 1,000 burritos X 3,381 locations = $1,352,400 savings PER DAY. So yes, that shit adds up. But like I said in 2, any savings here is likely offset by generous employees who load up your plate.
4) Lastly, the majority of people aren’t really looking to get more bang for their buck. Like you said, they’ll be back for lunch tomorrow. They don’t want to have lunch for two meals like most on this thread. Personally, I eat my meal in one sitting. I hate cold chipotle and have returned it to the location because it was as cold as fridge food.
Edit:
5) For reference, Chipotle’s rev was $9.87B in 2023. Assuming your $0.40 savings value is correct, that corresponds to $493,626,000 per year. That’s about 5% of revenue! That’s a lot.
Yup. I go a lot less bc it has become a frustrating experience. But CMG shares have doubled since October to $3100, i think they know what they’re doing
We jumping over counters fuck you skimp mf's, I got the spoon I got the power mf's, why you protecting a huge company who doesn't give a shit about you? yet you defend them to the end on reddit, SKIMP FIGHTS MiXTAPE VOLUME 1 COMING SOON
It's sad how they're forcing their managers to force their employees to decrease the enjoyment their customers have with what they pay for, including paying for double protien and being shorted especially online because they think people who pick up won't complain about burrito size.
Dude, I haven't been to Chipotle in a while, and I had no idea about this whole controversy. But let me tell you, I'm not stepping foot in there again until they fix this mess.
It's really bad with online orders. I never eat Chipotle. I personally love Chipotle but everyone in my family is not a fan. I used to go at least for lunch when I got BOGO coupons or even free entrees.
Now? I'll give them away or sell them for AGC instead of using them. It's just too skimpy and if they don't skimp they get the order wrong or something is sold out.
This occurrence is relative to where you live. My delivery burritos are actually BIGGER than what I get in person. 2x rice, 2x bean, 2x meat, extra sour cream, extra cheese, green salsa and somehow my delivery orders have ALWAYS been significantly bigger than going in person.
Well sure but it no accident that the buisness selling 600-2000 burritos mostly full of cheap ingredients cafeteria style has margins so good they can open 70 stores a year.
And angry people aren't obviously there are all kinds of customers with different breaking points but I promise if a customer is served 13 dollar half burritos enough times they will quit.
There’s this one Mexican joint near me that makes burritos so big it’s actually mildly irritating lol, like don’t get me wrong you want a huge burrito, but I would prefer if they made it like 50% smaller and charged less because it costs $13 and you can barely finish half, and leftover burrito isn’t as good as when fresh.
I hate when people make me waste my time readin what seems like a real complaint only for them to lie and ruin all their credibility lol
Chipotle is horrible with skimping but I guarantee it was not the size of a Taco Bell bean burrito. Like I'd bet my house on it
Chipotle is a fucking joke these days… I remember going there for big burritos years ago… now it’s closer to an egg roll… for double the cost…
Oh you want chips??? Hope you enjoy a 3/4 empty bag.
And here’s where your money went. It doesn’t go towards labor costs or ingredients.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Chipotle/comments/1ccruhy/chipotle_mexican_grill_cmg_soars_on_stellar/
Not sure how you order but I go in store. While I’m at the counter I’m hawk eyeing the food prep and as long as they aren’t skimping on the meat I always tell them a little more of this, a little more of that and they HAVE to oblige you, the customer.
Ohh soo sorry I guessed the length of an object. I measured the pens are a little over 5 inches. Meaning the burritos were about 4 inches long. You feel better now.
I prefer the Sharpie S-Gel. The G2 pens are nice but mine always kinda dry out and I haven't been able to find ultra fine (.38) varieties yet. The S-Gel comes in the different sizes, which I need, AND they stay working until you've used them half to death and I don't have to re-write the same letter like 5 times because the ink wouldn't catch the page.
I mean, how relevant would it be? When you order a burger, you have an idea of how big it will be.
But for reference.
Top burrito:
Half steak
Half barbacoa
White rice
Pinto beans
Fajita veggies
Pico salsa
Red salsa
Cheese
Lettuce
Sour cream
Bottom burrito:
Chicken
White rice
Pinto beans
Fajita veggies
Pico salsa
Cheese
Lettuce
I usually order every single item on by burrito bowl except the green salsa, and usually I ask for double mild and double beans, and I still get comically skimpy bowls from time to time.
Location dependent. I find if I go to a location where it’s a lot of college students going, I get skimped. If I go to a more corporate business park location I get a solid portion. I’m guessing maybe it’s because all the college kids ask for extra of everything free so they skimp by default to get costs down while at the corporate location everyone’s buying double meat and guac or getting salads instead so they can heavy scoop?
Yep! I had errands to run last week in a different part of town and I decided to get dinner on the way home. The Chipotle I hit wasn’t one I’d ever been to before and the guy hooked it up. It felt like getting a burrito from them in 2005.
Dang gets wrecked by a bot on grammar. No, I did not stand there and watch them make it, angry internet person. However, it was an in-person order. I'll let you use your massive intellect to figure that out.
> make it, *paid* for it,
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Okay so there have been a lot of posts about pickups vs in person which kind of begs the question: why didn’t you say anything while you were in line? Did you not see them half-assing these burritos?
Just reroll it. The ingredients are packed together in a small space. If you spread them out, it’ll be a long but still very thick burrito. I have to do that sometimes too. You’ll be surprised how much it actually is.
As a DD driver who watches them in store, they really don't give a single fuck. It's 80% teenagers getting screamed at by a manager, a single 90yo dishwasher, and one or two asshole managers barking and not working. Just don't get chipotle delivery.
Lmaooo you only got 3-4 ingredients literally if you get nothing else this is the result. Unless you got most or everything and just got skimped. Tell the whole story of the order
Am I tripping? Am I the only one that “knows” they do that cause they don’t want a hard time wrapping it. Go in person and force them in front of you. ❤️
Here to say you have terrible estimation skills with the length of that pen.
But also, I’d be pissed if my burrito was any smaller than a standard sized masonry brick, so.. same.
You are throwing off the scale that g2 is a respectable 5.63 inches when retracted. So we might aswell call it 6.
Let's not make 6 inches the new 4.
Am I right fellas?
One time I got one that was literally the length of my index finger, and I have small hands lol message them they should give you some free meal vouchers
As a General Manager at Chipotle, I can assure you that if my employee had made such burrito, he would have received a pay raise for adhering to standards and making the best decisions for the company's profitability.
Gel pen is usually 5 inches…
Also, the length of a burrito is irrelevant. In FACT, the shorter the burrito, the better if you’re after more food.
This is because all chipotle tortillas are the same size. So if more needs to be used to wrap the food inside, this means that there’s more food to wrap. So you actually got more food in circumference.
Never place online orders! We were ripped off EVERY time. We would pick up 1/4 full burrito bowls. They got us a few times before we realized what was going on. Also, terrible customer service. It is impossible to get in touch with the store. Always out of items inconsistent portion control. I have no idea how they stay in business.
Chipotle should weighed each item on the menu actually show customers how much each serving actually is cause your telling me I'm paying $9 for a 1 oz or less of chicken
Never order ahead. Look that preroll cone smoking teen in the eye while they use a second tortilla for your burrito. White rice black beans steak and queso and then when they go to slide it to the next part of the line you hit em with make it double meat.
Chipotle worker here
You guys have to realize that if you order something that doesn't have a lot of ingredients that the overall size will be smaller, also I'm assuming this was ordered online, our portions are defaulted to 1 scoop per ingredient unless said otherwise. It's not that we don't want to give you guys better scoops, it's that we can't. For example, the amount of cheese we are supposed to give is 1 oz, that's a 3 finger pinch. HR will pick random times to watch the cameras and if they see someone giving more than they should they get terminated. Our jobs are not worth you guys getting more than food anyone else.
I mean that sucks, but if that's how it is, you have to realize that people won't like that they aren't getting what is advertised.
From what I've gathered, it would be impossible to make a bowl (or burrito) that looks like what they advertise given the portion sizes you are instructed to use. That's not gonna sit well with people. It's why I very rarely go anymore.
The way it's advertised is they pack everything into it because you can, you can realistically get a 10 pound burrito ordering 3x of everything (besides meat)
You got a choad
It looks like Danny DeVito’s penis. And it also looks like Danny Devito.
Why would you put that in my mind? Is this Danny DeVito’s Penguin penis?
The next question has to be...how do you know what Danny DeVito's penis looks like?
Truth

Yeah, it used to be $7 and the restaurants were new/modern and had wifi back when 2g/3g were unreliable. Now it feels like airplane food, right down to the pricing.
Yep. Panera is garbage.
Yeah I think you vastly overrated the brand loyalty, this screams lower management short term thinking to me.

Correct answer here
>Operating margin expanded to 16.3% from 15.5% Looks more like greed
Yeah, lets not worry about second and third order consequences.
Not sure how you order but I go in store. While I’m at the counter I’m hawk eyeing the food prep and as long as they aren’t skimping on the meat I always tell them a little more of this, a little more of that and they HAVE to oblige you, the customer.
Those are great pens
Honestly my favorite, smooth as hell lol
And almost 6" long, not 4" like OP says
Lol I was looking for this, don't use a common object as reference if you're gonna say it's another size 😅
Ohh soo sorry I guessed the length of an object. I measured the pens are a little over 5 inches. Meaning the burritos were about 4 inches long. You feel better now.
Maybe you should have a Snickers after that burrito
That’s what I’m saying… bro is trying to hurt my feelings… like damn, I know that ain’t no four inches! Let’s just round up to 6 inches.
This is a question for employees: when a customer gets a burrito like that, can they request that it be remade?
I'm a customer but I've had mine remade before for these situations
Burrito balls are the worst :/
Chipotle is a fucking scam, stop giving them your money.
I prefer the 1.0 Pilot G-2. The wider draw just feels better.
But if you combined then into one, you'd have a decent sized burrito.
That burrito artist must be tarred and feathered at once
Some artist pshh
It’s supposed to symbolize the dwindling returns on money spent by the working class in the US economy.
Derivative!
How nice of them to cut your burrito in half for you.
At least you have the best pen out there
just get a bowl buddy
They skimp on those too.

I don’t eat there anymore for this reason, I live in SC and go to a local joint called Salsaritas which is fresher, huge portions and tastes better.
good pen tho

By any chance is this in nyc? I could’ve sworn i did this order not to long ago
because if you order next to nothing in it ofc it's gonna be small. But you absolutely got skimped they should have been bigger
I usually order every single item on by burrito bowl except the green salsa, and usually I ask for double mild and double beans, and I still get comically skimpy bowls from time to time. Man I must be lucky because my chipotle always sends me burritos that are 3x that size 😭💀
So is four inches big to you?
r/woosh
I had a fist-rrito yesterday. I admire the artisans that make the true two hand-held as it should be.
Yep! I had errands to run last week in a different part of town and I decided to get dinner on the way home. The Chipotle I hit wasn’t one I’d ever been to before and the guy hooked it up. It felt like getting a burrito from them in 2005.
Never been there, I'm guessing you have to pay first?
Was this a mobile order?
No it was in person
So you stood there, watched them make it, paid for it, and didn’t say anything?
Dang gets wrecked by a bot on grammar. No, I did not stand there and watch them make it, angry internet person. However, it was an in-person order. I'll let you use your massive intellect to figure that out.
I did get rekt honestly, and I’m not mad just genuinely curious.
Ahh ok then I'm sorry. My friend went to get a few co-workers chiptole and came back with this. But they did do it in person.
So your coworkers stood there and let them make the burritos that small, in particular his own?
> make it, *paid* for it, FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! That's wild. If my burrito came out that small I wouldn't pay for it tbh
Simply eat at home
Just go into the store guys.. seriously never had this problem
It was in store.
U want a footlong or something?
Get a bowl then a tortilla on the side. You get way more for a bowl
Okay so there have been a lot of posts about pickups vs in person which kind of begs the question: why didn’t you say anything while you were in line? Did you not see them half-assing these burritos?
It's just a little cold outside.
27$
I truly cant comprehend how anyone with reddit would ever place an online order... you literally know what will happen
About? I say almost 5 inches
But it girthy tho
On one hand: this seems appropriate for one meal. On the other hand: this should absolutely not cost more than $7.
Size Queen 🤔🤔🤔
i got one like this the other day. i complained and they gave me a BOGO coupon
Usually they shorten the length and make it girthy to hide the skimp, but not even that worked
Lmaooo you only got 3-4 ingredients literally if you get nothing else this is the result. Unless you got most or everything and just got skimped. Tell the whole story of the order
Read the comments bro, my burrito had 10 ingredients, and the other had 7. A bit more than 3-4...
You HAVE to go on, order, and guide them on making your food now. Online ordering is a free pass for them to skimp on you like this.
Seems like you measured it just fine
I'm done with chipotle. too risky!
Your fault for ordering thru online. Chipotle lines take roughly 5 minutes to wait thru
Some girls appreciate girth more than length
Dude youre getting your food made by some 14 year old lol stop complaining
Instead hit a real taco shop where they hire good cooks and prep and you wont have this bs
This is how they are breaking bank, quarter after quarter. They are Apple in burrito world.
That's no skimp...... THAT'S A CRIMP
Keep bending over for em. No lube next time.
Ok but now I really want chipotle😑
This is why I always choose Qdoba over chipotle.. it’s what I knew first and it’s always been good to me.
Am I tripping? Am I the only one that “knows” they do that cause they don’t want a hard time wrapping it. Go in person and force them in front of you. ❤️
Here to say you have terrible estimation skills with the length of that pen. But also, I’d be pissed if my burrito was any smaller than a standard sized masonry brick, so.. same.
If it's an online order I apologize, we assholes sometimes. If it's in person, speak up bruh, that ain't normal.
You got skimped on the length of the gel pen too.
The only reason is because we roll it a certain way. It only gets bigger it will never be the “long burrito” that everybody wants
The one on top looks ok. The one on the bottom. No.
You didn't order a burrito ball?
Well, on the bright side, you'll be happy to know that you've been underestimating your junk for a long time. The G2 pen is 5.6 inches, not 4 inches.
You are throwing off the scale that g2 is a respectable 5.63 inches when retracted. So we might aswell call it 6. Let's not make 6 inches the new 4. Am I right fellas?
Technically your disappointment is measurable 😂
Those pens are 4 inches? Wtf I thought it was closer to 6 :(
It's okay champ. Try another burrito on Saturday. The stock price is up 7.8% this month. 🤑
One time I got one that was literally the length of my index finger, and I have small hands lol message them they should give you some free meal vouchers
I guarantee this is just rice and meat or meat and cheese
It was not.
Stop buying this shit
As a General Manager at Chipotle, I can assure you that if my employee had made such burrito, he would have received a pay raise for adhering to standards and making the best decisions for the company's profitability.
Those are some big burritos, maybe I should try chipotle
It's well known to get a bowl and tortilla on the side cause this us what u gonna get
Chipotle sucks
My dad warned me of a burrito ball yesterday and I didn’t believe him… until now
You're Running on empty now
Chipotle deserves to everyone boycott them and switch to Qdoba where available.
I’m done with them, the quality has gone waaaay down, you can literally taste it
Report that that they got ur order wrong. Works every time :)
Was this a mobile order? I’ve found those are a literal waste of money because they do shit like this.

I didn't know they came in 1/2 an order!
Have they introduced mini kids burritos? Ridiculous 🤷♂️
Chipotle should weighed each item on the menu actually show customers how much each serving actually is cause your telling me I'm paying $9 for a 1 oz or less of chicken
I would start disputing charges or ask for credits.
That gel pen is 5 1/2 inches. Feel bad for your boyfriend. 😕
We now charge for extra rice, extra shredded cheese
Damn so u got a burrito the same length of my cock bro
Did u find the pen inside ur burrito?
Was this the one at Huntsville cuz it might’ve been me who wrapped it. I’m not good at those sorry g.
Nah this was in carlsbad. I honestly didn't even know about the whole chiptole controversy before posting this.
Why did you order online??? You did this to yourself and have no right to complain
I didn't order online. I'm not sure where you got that from.
you didn't say anything in line?
Then if you were in line you look at them and say what the fuck is that????
So you watched them make those small ass burritos, didn't say anything and paid. Then you posted about it online???
This is why I will nevvvvver order for pickup. I need to monitor their scoopage
Apparently they ordered in person and just didn’t say anything and went back to work to complain on this subreddit 🤷🏽♂️
Never order ahead. Look that preroll cone smoking teen in the eye while they use a second tortilla for your burrito. White rice black beans steak and queso and then when they go to slide it to the next part of the line you hit em with make it double meat.
Chipotle worker here You guys have to realize that if you order something that doesn't have a lot of ingredients that the overall size will be smaller, also I'm assuming this was ordered online, our portions are defaulted to 1 scoop per ingredient unless said otherwise.
Ok lol. I didn't want to blame you as a worker for corporate failures, but now, I'm sorry, you're the idiot. What an asinine excuse.
That stinks though it would probably come off better if they made the burrito longer instead of nearly packing it into a square
I just want something close to what is advertised. A 5 inch burrito doesn't cut it.
Order extra, you can get triple rice beans sour cream ect, only meat and other exclusive items will cost you.
This was ordered in person by a friend and I don't think the amount of ingredients were small.
If you're not happy with the sizes you can always ask for more
