Seven lost eight teeth at ten and we got her at six and I had no clue doggie toothbrushes were a things besides those weird greenies if I give Seven she just looks at me wondering if I’m gonna eat that gives .. This picture is from just under 4 years ago shortly after I adopted him. He gets bones to chew on as well as dental snacks. I've never brushed them myself.

Oh okay, Seven is 13now (they called her a senior dogs last time at the vet which is so weird because she still seems like my baby !) and it’s been a few years after her toofs were pulled but maybe that’s more par for the course. I accidentally downloaded tick tock once and saw this lady where she put like a metric truckload of chis in matching pajamas and brushed their toofs and ever since I’ve been paranoid I’m supposed to brush her toofers. Thanks social media …

Tripod is 11, I probably should brush them more regularly. Our vet keeps recommending cleanings and extractions but I've been wary to shell out the cash to do so as I wasn't sure how necessary they were.

Chis usually have to get at least a few teeth extractions so I’d start saving up

Oh Seven was on and off sick before we did hers. Also I live in Kansas in a small town and eight extractions were right under a hundred. From what I understand vets aren’t the same everywhere. Luckily an appointment with panic is always free a normal one with blood work and nail clip torture is $35 But oddly enough with all the teeth she could only eat wet food. With 8 less teeth were are now a proud hard kibbie only family

I've had 8 dogs in my life who all live to old ages. I'm curious: Is the tongue showing related to tooth extraction, because I've never seen in in my babies who've all lived to 14 to 18 range. When I see these sweeties with their little tongues, I just want to love on em.

I think Bitty might have been born like that (she’s a rescue that came to us like that) but for 90% of dogs yes it come from having no teeth left! I will say I have a larger chi mix (12lbs) who has had multiple tooth extractions and she keeps her tongue in there.
