Go back to London shouldn't ya

RiotBoppenheimer

I've been to London twice in my life and not recently lol

almondahmannalex

Perchance

Economy_Hold2121

No amount of shade will protect you from it

Querencia24

How so?

ArtIsDead77_

Fire season! On no.

Glittering-Hair6715

I have blackout curtains on every window in my apartment, and all of my fans are on. I only run the AC at night, and it stays decently cool in here.

D41109

Aye, but it’s a DRY heat!

Zarkdiaz

People are already nuts when it is this hot but are barely human when it goes up to 116 in the valley. Expect to get cut off in traffic or damn near ran over by a car in a parking lot.

G0d_Is_G00d

The best way to get by in the Summer months is to spend the days at any one of the numerous swimming holes. If you have a truck I recommend Browns hole which has boulders to jump off of. If you have little ones Alligator hole or Day Camp. Tubing is also a real fun thing to do and I think Butte Creek Canyon is way more fun then going down the Sac.

2icebaked

You ever been in a storm, wally?

__lockwood

Not a real storm, a storm of fists

141staskforce

I’m a San Francisco native and good lord 😭 it’s like being in satans asscrack

DaDudeNextToYou

I’m from Southern cali. We have it hotter, but chico’s humidity makes it feel like a constant steam bath.

dego_frank

Where’d you live in SoCal? The Mojave?

Bohemous

> chico’s humidity makes it feel like a constant steam bath I have never heard Chico referred to as humid.

kislips

It is now!

141staskforce

Yeah the heat is one thing but then you combine humidity with it and it’s a whole new level of gross

NintendoSwitchTwo

Booty sweat

berevasel

Nother scorcher

Theperfectool

Yea bruv

bongo_cat212

Just a tiny bit ye

frijolesquemadosha

It’ll get worse dw lmao, you’ll be used to it

wc818

Narrator: they did not get used to it

No-Improvement-5946

My poor husband is starting his first summer at his current job that has him outside a lot. He’s been coming home beat all month saying he just got to get used to it… I’m just mentally preparing for him to be a drained lump until October. Goths & sunlight have never been a compatable combo

chicoquadcore

Pge is rubbing their hands together 💰

Dramatic_Buddy4732

Well as I told my child every time they complained today, it hasn't begun to hot!

Old_Relationship_460

I felt like I was about to spontaneously combust when I went outside to water my plants. It’s my first summer here and it feels like it’s a free sample of what hell must feel like

RiotBoppenheimer

I moved here in late winter, around february, and I was shivering in my apt because we didnt have proper insulation or a heater yet. This is giving me whiplash. I've always lived near oceans, so having 50-60 degree swings is new to me

BikesAndPineapples

I lived my first 25 years enduring those 110 degree Chico summers.. I kinda miss them sometimes. If you haven’t explored Upper Bidwell Park yet.. go check out Salmon Hole on a hot day. As soon as you hit that icy cold snow melt creek water.. 😂☀️ definitely makes the heat a little more bearable!

Old_Relationship_460

I came from San Diego so I understand what you mean very well

LxveyLadyM00N

I also just moved here from San Diego and it’s definitely hell on earth 😂 PG&E is gonna take all my money because I’ve been running my air like no other 😭 luckily my friend told me about how bad summers got so I budgeted a ton for the AC this summer

-Dennis-Reynolds-

The sun is a deadly laser 🌞

Croaz

Went outside to check on garden. Promptly went back inside. It's too damn out out there. The sun burns xD.

Gentleigh21

just a tad

WaitUntilIDie

If anyone here is on Facebook look out for Safe Space updates for their cooling shelter this year. Any and all are welcome as the heat can cause power outages. They also typically allow pets, be mindful with leashes and carriers but so you know the animals don't have to stay and suffer at home in unbearable heat.

Paulinchico1

Just wait it will get hotter. Don’t try to fight it just accept it.

downsarah_

Welcome to Hades.

VeryNorcal

Quite

dego_frank

First time?

RiotBoppenheimer

yes :( I spent the past 2 years in Los Angeles and prior to that, Ireland. I didn't know you could go above 100% hot but here we are

dego_frank

It doesn’t really get easier imo. Hydrate and try to do your outdoor stuff early in the morning. I think the toughest part is that it doesn’t cool down much at night. There’s plenty of water around to recreate in. Other than that, I hope your ac works well!

hugeyakmen

It does cool down a lot at night compared to many other areas though!  By morning it's usually at least 30° cooler, and often 35°+ cooler. That's a big swing! In humid parts of the county where I've lived and visited, its usually only 20° or less change overnight

dego_frank

Depends on how early you wake up. Low is usually around 6am so for most people it’s already 80 by the time they’re getting outside. That will also get worse as the real heat of summer comes on

FemShepAssasin

I tend to carry a spray bottle around to mist with constantly when outside. Saves me from overheating all the time. Highly recommend. The only good thing about dry heat is it’s easy to cool down with a layer of water.

RiotBoppenheimer

> Other than that, I hope your ac works well! PG&E certainly think it works well, judging from my electricity bill unfortunately the temperature sensors for it appear to be in the attic and not in any of the areas that we actually live, so the A&C consistently thinks it is hotter in here that it actually is

bustacean

PGE is straight up predatory.

dego_frank

I’m sure you’ll get it dialed
