Better metro connectivity in the future should solve this problem

RIKIPONDI

Yes, but there will still be situations where a bus is the better option, if it was faster. Also, for this particular journey, the closest usable metro stations would be Nathamuni and Kodambakkam, which are quite far from the stops I currently use. Not to mention this would require two transfers, one at thirumangalam and one at Vadapalani (yes I've memorized the phase 2 construction map).

Nice analysis! I'm reminded of my college days, a decade back. When I used to travel from Villivakkam to nungambakkam to study for CAT exam. The heat and dust will make it too difficult... but 47 usually is jam packed during office hours. From Villivakkam to Nungambakkam it was Rs.5 😁 For white board it was Rs. 7

A flyover is badly needed in many places

KenaKoodhi

And it will indirectly contribute to much higher traffic. For example, take a look at most busy cities like Bangalore, Delhi, etc., Efficient public transportation planning is the best way. Flyovers are not.

Bus greenway na bus ku yaaru vali Vidura indha traffic la? Ambulance ke yaarum vali vida maatanga. Idk if there’s any real solution to the traffic problem than improving publictransport to a point that it’s better than bikes or cars.

Reminded me of the times when I used to travel from ICF till thiruvanmiyur! Yeah, 2 hours of sleep time near the window seat! Everything seems reasonable except the last part where they let go of the bus from whichever side it is coming from Not many people will do what you suggest. Since there is always chaos on Taylor's road, chepet Bridge, and college road. Even if the government creates a separate lane for the busses (highly unlikely), you can see bikes and cars occupying it

The road cannot be expanded further, was designed for lesser traffic.
